Kristen Brown Martin makes real estate look effortless. But make no mistake — guiding clients through major life transitions, finding the perfect home, and staying calm in highstakes transactions takes serious skill.
What’s the secret to her success? It’s simple. She leads with intention, grounded in her mantra, “Guiding good people through big moves with heart, honesty, and purpose.”
It’s more than a tagline — it’s the foundation of her career, the compass behind every decision, and the reason her clients trust her implicitly. Consider it the foundational building block to a stellar career.
A former world-class skier turned real estate powerhouse, Kristen brings heart, hustle, and human connection to everything she touches. Her energy is palpable. Her integrity, unwavering. Her focus? People come first, always. Her calmness and composure? Priceless.
Kristen, a top-producing agent with KB Martin Group at RE/ MAX of Boulder, isn’t just moving homes — she’s moving lives forward. She builds connections with her clients.
Kristen’s story begins in Massachusetts before moving north to a competitive ski academy in Maine. Skiing was more than a sport; it was her lifestyle and identity. As a member of the U.S. Ski Team, she traveled the world competing in Freestyle skiing, eventually landing in Boulder to attend University of Colorado. “I still recall the first day I saw Boulder driving over the hill on 36. I knew at that moment that I was home.” She kept competing into her 20s on the World Cup and the Pro Mogul Tour — “a dream life,” she recalls. “It was a great adventure.”
What kept her in Boulder? “Everything. The people, the mountains, the energy. I fell in love with it and never looked back.” After her pro career, Kristen pivoted into coaching — a happy accident that turned into a ten-year run as head coach of the CU Freestyle Ski Team. “It was magical,” she says. “We had an amazing group of athletes who shared a passion. As much as I loved competing, I found coaching to be deeply rewarding — it felt natural, like a true calling. That experience was formative. “It taught me how to listen, how to lead, and how to help people be their best. All of that set me up for success in real estate.”
Kristen bought her first condo in Boulder in her twenties, but
“I had spent many years coaching and building trust in the Boulder community, so when I was ready for a new chapter, real estate just made sense. My business was built on relationships.”
She started in 2005 during a hot market and quickly earned a reputation for her thoroughness, work ethic, and calm leadership. “I take a lot of pride in being detailed and providing excellent service. My business is entirely referral-based, I have earned the trust of my clients and that means the world to me.’
Let’s be real — real estate is not for the faint of heart. “It can be a roller coaster,” Kristenlaughs. “Juggling work and family is a challenge. I’ve definitely overextended myself at times, but I’m deeply grounded. That helps me stay calm and confident, even when deals get heated.” Her ability to listen deeply, stay steady, and prioritize people over numbers makes her stand out. “I’m motivated by goodness. I try to show up with light and intention, especially when transactions get emotional. That’s where the real work is.”
Nothing fazes her. With her persistence and grit, she sees deals through to the closing table. Competitive by nature, Kristen has a “don’t give up” mentality that helps her ride out the slow times and stay focused on the long game.
Her passion lies in understanding the full picture of a client’s life — not just what kind of house they want, but how they want to live. Whether it’s helping a young family settle into a neighborhood with great schools, or guiding newcomers toward Boulder’s climbing or ski communities, Kristen thrives on making connections that last long after closing day.
“I love meeting new people,” she says. “And I love helping them find their Colorado dream.”
When she’s not negotiating contracts or guiding clients through big moves, Kristen’s in her element: outdoors with her family. She and her husband, Chuck, live in Louisville with their two kids — Charlie and Maisy. “We’re a big mountain family,” she says with a smile. Both of her kids are competitive skiers and her husband, also a skier and Olympian, is a legendary coach in the ski world. The ski community is like a big family. I still ski, volunteer, and I never miss a chance to watch my kids compete; it’s a wonderful part of our lives. We also love to hike and camp, exploring Colorado never gets old! “That’s what it’s all for,” she shares.
Kristen’s team, KB Martin Group, includes Dana Morton, licensed agent and Jenny Lampert, Transaction Coordinator. “These talented ladies are dynamic, motivated and creative and together we strive to deliver exceptional service to our clients.” Most importantly, their goal is to make every client feel at home.
“There are a lot of talented, high-performing agents in this area. I am grateful to be a part of Boulder’s elite real estate community and to work alongside colleagues who push me to grow.”
It’s that same gratitude that continues to fuel her work. Whether she’s helping first-time buyers, luxury home buyers or seasoned investors, Kristen approaches every client with compassion, expertise, and a genuine desire to serve.
“Guiding good people through big moves with heart, honesty, and purpose.” For Kristen Brown Martin, it’s not just a phrase — it’s how she changes lives, one home at a time.

Nestled in the heart of Colorado, Sheffield Homes has quietly become one of the region’s most trusted custom homebuilders, blending generational craftsmanship with an uncompromising commitment to quality and client experience. From its roots in Arvada to expansion into Grand County, Sheffield has shaped neighborhoods and rebuilt communities with purpose, care, and a passion for excellence.
Building a Legacy: The Sheffield Homes Story Founded in 1978, Sheffield Homes is a family-owned business that has stayed true to its vision: building homes where families can thrive. What began in Arvada as a small, local operation has
grown into a well-respected name across Colorado’s Front Range and, more recently, the high country.
What sets Sheffield apart is not just their decades of experience, but a finely tuned design|build process developed over time. This approach ensures a streamlined, collaborative journey—from initial vision to final walk-through. “It’s all about making the experience feel personal,” says Nicole O’Neill, Sheffield’s head of Sales and Marketing. “We’re not just delivering a product—we’re creating a home that reflects each client’s vision.”
Sheffield’s design|build philosophy is grounded in one simple idea: the client
comes first. Every blueprint is a dialogue. Every feature is thoughtfully considered. This client-focused model has helped Sheffield maintain a reputation for not only delivering high-quality homes but also providing a less stressful, transparent building experience.
Recent Milestone: Carr Estates In 2021, Sheffield Homes broke ground at Carr Estates, a sought-after enclave in Westminster, coming on the heels of the successful completion of 19 homes at The Estates on Gage Hill in Arvada.
Carr Estates offered a new challenge and opportunity: 15 premium lots in a community shared with another builder, Wall Custom
Homes. Sheffield met the opportunity with intention, crafting fully custom homes ranging from 2,800 to 6,500 square feet. Each home is distinct, shaped by the individual vision and lifestyle of its homeowner.
“We love the way the Carr Estates community has come together,” notes Sheffield owner Jason Gordon. “It’s a beautiful area with a sense of calm, and it’s gratifying to contribute to that environment.” With wide streets, generous lots, and proximity to both Denver and Boulder, Carr Estates provided an ideal development to showcase Sheffield’s take on metropolitan luxury.
Responding to Crisis: Marshall Fire Rebuilds On December 30, 2021, the Marshall Fire swept through Louisville and Superior, becoming the most
We’re not just delivering a product— we’re creating a home that reflects each client’s vision.”
destructive fire in Colorado’s history. Hundreds of families lost their homes—and with them, the dreams and memories built over decades.
Sheffield Homes had a unique connection to this tragedy: many of the homes lost were originally built by Sheffield. The company responded with compassion and action. By diving into archived blueprints and re-establishing contact with their original architect, Sheffield was able to recover dozens of house plans to assist fire victims with insurance claims—a critical step on the road to recovery.
That was only the beginning. Over the next two years, Sheffield rebuilt 28 homes for families who chose to remain in the community. From those who opted to move on, Sheffield purchased five additional lots and began building new homes for future residents.
Sheffield’s commitment to excellence shows in every finish and fixture.
It was a full-circle moment— rebuilding where they once built, and helping families find hope amid devastation.
A Natural Progression:
Elevating Luxury Luxury has always been woven into the fabric of Sheffield Homes—from thoughtful design to enduring craftsmanship. In 2023, the company expanded its reach within the high-end market, breaking ground on four estate-style homes in Fox Hill, a premier neighborhood in Franktown, Colorado. This move wasn’t a pivot, but a continuation of Sheffield’s long-standing commitment to building refined, highly personalized homes.
The homes at Fox Hill represent a fusion of bold vision and bespoke execution. “When you’re building at this level, it’s not solely about square footage or upgrades—it’s about creating an experience,” says Gordon. From private wine cellars to outdoor living rooms with sweeping
views, each home reflects a new level of luxury without compromising the Sheffield values of transparency, personalization, and integrity.
And Sheffield didn’t stop there. In 2025, they expanded further into the mountain towns of Winter Park, Tabernash, Granby, and Fraser, offering high-end, custom homes to clients seeking tranquility, recreation, and refined mountain living. Whether nestled into the pineladen hills or perched atop panoramic vistas, these homes mirror the rugged elegance of Colorado’s high country.
In 2025, Sheffield launched Beyond the Build, their Corporate Social Responsibility platform, rooted in a belief that homebuilding extends far beyond foundations and finishes. It’s about being part of something bigger—a shared commitment to care for the communities where they build.
Through this initiative, employees are encouraged to give their time, resources, and energy to causes across Colorado. One such initiative is HBF’s Blitz Build, a project dedicated to constructing wheelchair ramps for community members in need of safe, accessible housing solutions.
Sheffield’s team stepped up and, with the help of generous vendor partners, donated over $2,500 during the summer of 2025.
Additionally, team members volunteered their time on workdays throughout the summer to construct and paint the ramps. “We take great pride in the homes we build,” says Gordon, “but it’s even more meaningful when we can use our skills to support those in our community who need it most.”
This grassroots-style giving embodies Sheffield’s ethos: a home is more than a structure—it’s the heartbeat of a community.
As the exclusive custom home sponsor for the 2024/25 season of the Hearth & Stone Luxury Home Tour, Sheffield had the opportunity to connect with top-tier architects, designers, and real estate professionals— many of whom share the company’s passion for detail and distinction. One result of the connections made there was the sale of 1215 W. 145th Way, a standout property that luxury home expert Jen James of Jen James Real Estate sold.
“Partnering with Sheffield Homes has been a true pleasure,” says James. As
we approach our end-ofAugust closing, the attention to detail and craftsmanship they bring to every stage continues to impress. The process has been smooth, collaborative, and deeply client-focused—exactly what you hope for in a luxury custom home experience. Sheffield’s commitment to excellence shows in every finish and fixture.”
From modest beginnings in Arvada to rebuilding communities devastated by wildfire, Sheffield Homes continues to shape Colorado’s landscape—one beautiful home at a time. Their seamless integration of timeless craftsmanship, client-centered design, and community engagement has carved out a legacy that’s as solid as the foundations they pour.
As they look to the future, the team at Sheffield remains grounded in the principles that have carried them for nearly five decades: integrity, care, and a deep love for home.
For Sheffield Homes, the story is far from finished— it’s just building momentum.

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” George Bernard Shaw
Parents used to say, it’s time for us to turn off the TV (or computer) and “Just go outside and play!”
Remember when you were a kid, filled with laughter and imagination, and all you wanted to do was play? Somewhere along the way, many of us lost that sense of playfulness. We grow up, take on responsibilities, and before we know it, we’re buried under obligations with no room left for fun. Play gets sidelined, treated like a luxury, or considered only for children.
While we encourage children to play, there comes a point where we tell them it’s time to “grow up,” as if becoming an adult means leaving fun behind. Even the word “play” gets a makeover once we’re adults. It’s no longer called play— it’s rebranded as “leisure activities,” which doesn’t have the same ring to it.
But play isn’t just for kids, and it’s certainly not frivolous. In fact, it can be a powerful tool for healing the mind and body, no matter how old you are.
Let’s take back the word “play.” It’s not something to outgrow— it’s something to embrace. Play is a crucial part of staying healthy, connected, and happy.
While play is crucial for a child’s development, it is also beneficial for people of all ages. Play can add joy to life, relieve stress, supercharge learning, and connect you to others and the world around you. Play can also make work more productive and pleasurable.
Play may seem silly, but when we’re adults, it is important to our well-being. Health psychologist Shilagh Mirgain, PhD, explains that play helps relieve stress, boosts creativity, improves our mood and outlook and keeps our minds sharp.
Research shows that playful activities can help prevent and manage depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Adults who regularly engage in playful activities experience lower stress and more endorphins— your body’s feel-good chemicals. Playful activities like sports, creative hobbies, or games can also lower blood pressure, protect against heart disease and cognitive decline, and increase longevity.
How many of us let the daily grind get in the way of play. Between work, family responsibilities, and errands, we often tell ourselves we don’t have time to have fun. But when we do take a moment for play—whether it’s a quick game of tag with kids or dancing around the kitchen to music, we usually feel lighter.
“The presence or absence of play, particularly in child development, has a great deal to do with competency, resiliency, emotional health [and] brain size,” said Dr. Stuart Brown, a psychiatrist. Play is “not frivolous and not just for kids, but something that is an inherent part of human nature.”
Play nurtures relationships with oneself and others. It relieves stress and increases happiness. It builds feelings of empathy, creativity, and collaboration. It supports the growth of sturdiness and grit.
“Play bonds us together in a different kind of way. It builds trust, quiets our inner-critic and eases our feelings of stress,” said Mirgain. Despite the
benefits of play, even children’s play time has significantly declined over the last half century.
“Play is one of the main ways that children really consolidate their learning. The way we really make our skills permanent and enriched and highly developed, is often through our play experiences.”
Doris Bergen, a professor at Miami University’s Department of Educational Psychology
“The brain is structured to learn from experience first, and then learn through all the other means that we usually use [to teach],” she said. “Play is essential to education. Play is education for children”, says Dee Ray, a professor of early childhood education.
Research shows that when we play, our brains are activated impacting emotional regulation and problem solving. Play also releases chemicals in the brain like oxytocin which regulates emotions and dopamine, a neurotransmitter which impacts memory, motivation, and mood.
Multiple studies have found that playfulness in adulthood is beneficial to our physical and mental health, and necessary for optimal functioning. Play has been shown to relieve stress, improve brain function, boost creativity, increase and improve connections with others, increase energy, and heal emotional wounds.
Neuroscience supports the old hypothesis that laughter really is the best medicine. As Brené Brown, author of ‘The Power of Vulnerability”, wrote, “Laughter, song, and dance create emotional and spiritual connection; they remind us of the one thing that truly matters when we are searching for comfort, celebration, inspiration, or healing: we are not alone.”
Brené Brown, through her research, highlights that play for adults is not a mere indulgence but a vital necessity for a balanced, joyful, and meaningful life. It’s about finding activities that bring intrinsic joy and incorporating them into our lives, helping us to reduce stress, enhance creativity, and build strong relationships.
With summer almost over let’s not forget opportunities to play. It’s a good time to remember that play isn’t just fun — it’s the foundation for healthy growth. Play strengthens bones, muscles, lungs, and the heart, and can help reduce obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
Maybe it’s time we realize that play isn’t something to grow out of—it’s something to embrace, no matter our age. Let’s give ourselves permission to see play differently, as something necessary for our well-being.

She’s the Real Deal!

“Don’t be the agent whose past clients answer your call and think, ‘What’s wrong?’ because you haven’t reached out in so long.” That’s the best advice Julie Trunzo ever got. It’s also the secret behind her 100% referral-based business.
“Staying in touch after the transaction is so important,” she points out. “I genuinely care about my clients and their lives.” There is no substitute for compassion and caring. Building genuine relationships long after the keys are handed over is the trademark of this trusted Colorado real estate expert.
“Real estate isn’t just about buying and selling,” she says. “It’s about showing up, being honest, and truly helping people navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives.”
Originally from the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area of New York, Julie Trunzo and her husband took a leap of faith in 2005 when a career opportunity brought them west to Colorado. What started as a practical decision quickly became the best move of their lives. By June, they had settled into a new state where they didn’t know a single person, but they knew it was home.
“We love it. We definitely miss family, but we’re here for the long haul,” Julie says with a smile. While their extended family remains in Buffalo, she and her husband have fully embraced Colorado life. The beauty, the people, the lifestyle—Boulder captured their hearts, and they’ve never looked back.
“It’s gorgeous. We really enjoy the active lifestyle,” she raves. “I’ve been wondering for 20 years if you ever start to take the beautiful scenery for granted – it hasn’t happened yet!”
Julie’s early career was in international business — traveling to French and Spanish-speaking countries to help companies prepare for U.S. Customs audits. But after starting a family and stepping away from travel, she found herself drawn to a new challenge: real estate.
A “less than stellar” homebuying experience in New York followed by a fantastic one inspired her to do it better. When her youngest daughter started kindergarten, Julie jumped in.
“I got into real estate before the crash,” she says. “It was the right time,” she laughs, recalling the early days of real estate.
Her first break? Writing and submitting 80 to 100 sight-unseen offers each week for a local investor — by fax. “It was a little crazy, but I learned a lot really quickly, with no emotions involved. Either the
numbers worked or they didn’t.” It gave her a solid foundation in real estate.
Julie is the kind of agent who thrives on clarity. “Managing expectations is huge,” she says. “My job is to keep people calm through the ups and downs of a transaction.” Whether working with first-time buyers or seasoned sellers, she breaks down each step so clients know what’s coming next. “I don’t leave people guessing.” People appreciate the clarity as well as her down-to-earth nature, which resonates with others.
She founded Tru Properties as a one-woman LLC with a transaction coordinator and a vision to keep things personal. “Maybe one day I’ll bring on agents, but right now I love what I’m doing.”
What sets her apart? Communication and consistency. “Even if there’s no update, I check in with my sellers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Feedback, market movement, anything. It matters.” Her clients depend on her as Julie has built a legacy of trust.
“Keep in touch with your sphere,” she says, citing this as one reason for her success. That makes the difference between extraordinary real estate professionals and ordinary ones. As Julie says, “In 2020-2021, homes were selling in a minute. You didn’t have to stay in touch with your clients to tell them what you were doing to market their home.” Times have changed. Communication
speaks volumes in an impersonal, digital age. “Being communicative and honest are key,” she points out. She doesn’t sugarcoat situations. “Be nice about it, but tell your clients the truth upfront,” she advises. People appreciate authenticity and transparency, especially when dealing with the largest purchase of their lives.
Giving Back and Growing Forward
Julie and her husband of 30 years — high school friends turned college sweethearts — make giving back a family priority. Each year, they choose organizations to support. Favorites include A Precious Child, Food Bank of the Rockies, and Denver Rescue Mission. “We’re always looking for meaningful ways to give back—through donations, volunteering, and staying active in the community we care about.”
Family is everything. With two grown daughters, three grandsons under three, and another grandbaby on the way, life is full — and loud. “It’s been houses, babies, and more babies lately,” she laughs. “It’s chaotic in the best way.”
Now two decades into her career, Julie is setting her sights on the luxury market — while continuing to guide the next generation. “My daughters and their friends are ready to buy, and I want to make sure they’re financially educated and supported through the process. That’s not something I’m willing to give up.” Whether helping move-up buyers or coaching young clients, she brings the same thoughtful approach.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Julie enjoying long walks, hikes, or planning her next trip. “Travel resets everything. And somehow, the moment I book a vacation, clients come out of the woodwork,” she jokes.
The Tru Difference
Heart. Hustle. Humor. That’s the magic mix behind Julie Trunzo’s real estate empire. She’s not chasing closings — she’s building lifelong connections.
In a world of agents fighting for the next deal, Julie flips the script. Her clients don’t just come back — they send their friends, family, and neighbors, too.
Why? Because she’s real. She’s sharp. And she shows up with genuine care and fierce follow-through. With Julie, it’s not just business — it’s personal.

When the housing market tanked in 2007, most people ran for cover — but Lenny Maiocco ran full speed into opportunity. With sharp instincts, grit in his gut, and a vision for something better, he launched Properties Plus, LLC and turned a crashing market into a launching pad. What started with a handful of homes quickly grew into hundreds, and nearly two decades later, this Lafayettebased property management powerhouse is still going strong — built on loyalty, hustle, and an unshakable commitment to doing things the right way.
“I didn’t set out to start a property management company,” says Lenny. “But a few real estate agents kept bringing it up, and it just made sense.” Turns out, it was a stroke of genius. Within six months of opening shop, Properties Plus was managing 40 homes. By 2010? Four hundred. “It was too much, too fast,” he admits with a grin. So when the real estate market started to rebound in 2011 and owners began selling, Lenny adjusted the sails. Today, the company comfortably manages between 175 to 200 properties each year — and impressively, 15 of the original owners are still with him. That’s loyalty with a capital L.
But ask Lenny what sets Properties Plus apart, and he won’t say it’s him. “This business only works because of my team,” he says. “I’ve got rockstars.” Leading the charge is Jenn Porter, the Office Manager who keeps the gears turning with precision and grace. Maintenance Manager Kurt Thede has been the steady hand behind the
scenes for 15 years. And showing agent Kwame Baffour rounds out the squad with boots-on-the-ground brilliance. “Without them, this ship doesn’t sail,” Lenny says. “They’re the heartbeat of Properties Plus.”
Their services? Comprehensive and headache-reducing. Properties Plus handles everything from marketing to showings and tenant screening to move-ins, rent collection, maintenance coordination, pre-lease/post-lease condition walk-throughs, and accounting. For owners who want to self-manage but need help finding great tenants, they also offer a popular leaseonly option. “We’re full service — or just the part you need,” Lenny explains.
And the real secret to staying successful in this ever-changing industry? “I wouldn’t be in the business if I didn’t have a high level of integrity and a deep commitment to doing what’s best for the client,” says Lenny. “My grandparents all immigrated from Italy — I grew up with that hard work ethic ingrained in me. You can’t cut corners, especially in property management. It only works when you do things the right way.”
And that includes staying on top of legal landmines. Since COVID, Colorado has done a 180 — going from the second most landlord-friendly state in the nation to #48. “It’s like the Wild West out there,” says Lenny. “We’ve changed our
lease ten times since COVID. If you’re still using a download-from-the-internet lease, you’re just begging for a lawsuit.”
That’s why one of his team members attends weekly legal updates with an attorney on retainer. “The laws are changing constantly — you’ve got to stay informed or you’re toast.”
At Properties Plus, it’s not just about managing properties — it’s about managing risk, reputation, and relationships.
A Family Man with a Passport and a Pup
Behind the business is a man who’s lived a lot of life. After college, Lenny packed a bag and hit the road — or more accurately, the globe. He spent five years traveling the world, soaking up culture, learning to adapt, and sharpening his communication chops. “It taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life — something that’s been priceless in this business,” he says.
One of his greatest adventures, however, happened back home. After returning to Colorado, Lenny met Rosario — a Colombian powerhouse fluent in four languages — who just so happened to be living next door to his parents… in the house he grew up in. “I’m a lucky guy,” he says. Together, they’re raising three amazing children: Gabriela (23), Catalina (21), and Luke (19), who has significant special needs.
“My son Luke changed my life,” Lenny shares. “He’s the reason I focus on what really matters. It’s about showing up — not just for clients, but for your family.” Between being a business owner and devoted dad, Lenny’s days are full. But when he has downtime, he enjoys making videos, trying new foods, traveling far and wide, and hanging out with his furry best friend, Maverick.
He’s also a longtime supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network — a cause that hits home.
Why Properties Plus?
Simple. Experience, heart, and hustle.
“You’re going to get a personal touch. We’re not some massive corporate machine,” Lenny says. “We’ve got 20 years of experience, long-term clients, and we actually give a hoot. That still matters.”
From tenant troubles to lease legalese, Properties Plus, LLC brings the knowledge, the care, and the can-do attitude to make property management feel a whole lot less stressful — and maybe even a little fun.

Jason Rounds wasn’t exactly thrilled when his coworker kept trying to set him up with his daughter. “I said no thanks,” Jason laughs. “I told him I wasn’t interested, thinking there was no way anything would transpire.” But persistence won out — and when Jason finally met Trisha, sparks flew. “It was love at first sight,” he says. That was 22 years ago, and the Rounds have been inseparable ever since.
Today, Jason and Trisha are not only husband and wife, but business partners leading one of the most trusted home inspection teams in Colorado: Pillar To Post Home Inspectors – The Rounds Team. Serving from Estes Park to Denver, they’ve transformed a tough beginning into a thriving, family-run business — built on grit, local values, and a genuine desire to make a difference for others.
Jason’s road to home inspections wasn’t exactly planned. After working in remodeling and a short stint in the mortgage industry, he found himself in a career pivot when the mortgage business shut down. “I was job hunting when I stumbled across an opportunity in home inspections,” he recalls. That opportunity changed everything.
He trained under a seasoned inspector who, during the early days of the pandemic, offered Jason the chance to take over the business. “It was August 1, 2020 — possibly the wildest time to launch a new venture,” Jason says. “But Trish and I took a leap of faith. And it paid off.” They built something meaningful during a crazy time in the world.
As the real estate market surged during COVID, so did demand for inspections. “We were crazy busy,” he says. “But we loved it; it was a great start to our business venture.”
Buying a home is one of life’s biggest decisions, and the Rounds Team treats each inspection with the weight it deserves. Their motto? Be thorough — but never alarming.
“Our job is to provide a complete, unbiased evaluation of the home,” Jason explains. “We spend more time in the house than most inspectors because we want to get it right. We’re not there to scare anyone — we’re there to empower buyers with information.”
And it’s not just about what they see — it’s also about how they show it. As part of the nationally recognized Pillar To Post brand, the Rounds Team combines local expertise with a proven process trusted by buyers and agents across the country. Clients benefit from the strength and innovation of a large-scale franchise, while receiving the personalized service that only a local family business can provide.
Thanks to Pillar To Post’s cutting-edge technology, clients can expect:
• A virtual 360° summary walkthrough of the home
• A measured floorplan, depending on the inspection package
• Same-day inspection reports
• A digital home manual and appliance safety recall check
• Access to repair estimate quotes through their partner, Bosscat
Trisha manages all the scheduling and communication with agents and customers, while Jason and their daughter, Shaelynn, handle the inspections. Yes — this is truly a family affair. “It’s great working together as a family,” says Jason. “We all know what needs to happen to keep this business running smoothly.”
The Rounds’ story isn’t just about business — it’s also about resilience. Eight months after buying the franchise, tragedy struck. Their son passed away due to fentanyl poisoning, a loss no parent should ever have to endure.
Instead of being crushed by grief, they channeled their pain into purpose. “We got involved in legislation, worked with Attorney General Phil Weiser, and helped push through the Fentanyl Accountability and Prevention Act,” Jason shares. “We want to help other families by raising awareness and pushing for change.”
That’s what Jason and Trisha are all about. They’re not just invested in homes; they’re invested in people. They sponsor local real estate events, such as charity cornhole tournaments benefiting Flutterby, an organization that supports families in need. They also sponsor food drives and community kickball tournaments, making a real impact beyond inspection reports.
With over 3,000 inspections completed and 500-600 annually, the Rounds Team ranks in the top tier of Pillar To Post franchises in Colorado, typically placing 3rd or 4th statewide. But they’re not stopping there. “We’re growing,” Jason says. “We’re hiring soon and working hard to climb those rankings even higher.”
More than anything, the Rounds are driven by the mission to protect families — in their homes and beyond. Whether it’s catching a foundation issue before closing or helping fight the fentanyl crisis through education and advocacy, they’re building something far bigger than a business. They live with their lives with impact, with intention, and an unwavering commitment to serve others — both in business and beyond.
The Good Move is more than a moving company—we’re a local, community-rooted team creating connection and care in times of change. Founded by Brian, who was born and raised here, we bring heart, humor, and integrity to a stressful moment in people’s lives. Whether someone is moving into a new home, making a fresh start, or navigating a tough transition, we show up with kindness, go above and beyond (especially when things don’t go perfectly), and make sure people feel held, seen, and supported.
We’re not corporate. We’re human. We’re proud of where we’re from, and we treat our work like an offering.
