Alan Khazei is not a politician - he is a movement leader who co-founded City Year and led the national service movement to launch, protect and grow AmeriCorps. Alan is ready on Day One to lead the effort in Congress to protect our environment, ensure affordable healthcare for all, stop gun violence, address racial injustice and restore the American Dream for working families.

Alan’s Plan for Newton was built by listening to the people of Newton. In Congress, Alan will: Bolster the Community Innovations for Aging in Place Initiative through grants for municipalities that adopt modified property taxes for the elderly. Support the Common Sense Housing Investment Act, increasing funding for housing programs through reforms to the mortgage interest tax deduction. Help restore the school budget by passing the Heroes Act in Congress to secure $92,362,839 in funding for Newton. Support small businesses through a Federal Jobs Guarantee that will provide Emergency Wage Support to keep people on the payroll.
