Rehoboth’s Assets and Initiatives » Town Bylaws. Rehoboth is a designated ‘Right to Farm Community’ with a town bylaw that encourages commercial agriculture, effectively protecting farmlands. » The Rehoboth Antiquarian Society provides vibrant collaborative spaces for the community’s arts and culture throughout the year. » GATRA. Rehoboth is part of the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA), which provides bus service to towns in Bristol and Plymouth counties. » Senior Center. Rehoboth has a superb Senior Center offering social activities, outreach, and fuel and meal assistance to seniors.

Rehoboth’s Challenges » Education Funding. Rehoboth’s school budgets are under enormous stress due to falling tax revenues during the pandemic. » Rising Unemployment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment in Rehoboth has risen from 3% in late March 2020 to over 16% in late April. » Town Transfer Station. With revenue coming from fees, not taxes or outside funding, Rehoboth residents are facing increased costs for use of the transfer station. » Opioid Crisis. Rehoboth recorded an opioid fatality rate of 3.3 deaths per 10,000 residents in 2019, one of the highest in the district.

Alan Khazei is not a politician - he is a movement leader who co-founded City Year and led the national service movement to launch, protect and grow AmeriCorps. Alan is ready on Day One to lead the effort in Congress to protect our environment, ensure affordable healthcare for all, stop gun violence, address racial injustice and restore the American Dream for working families.

Alan’s Plan Rehoboth was built by listening to the people of Rehoboth. In Congress, Alan will: Help restore education funding by passing the Heroes Act in Congress to secure $4,036,816 in funding for Rehoboth. Address the spike in ​unemployment​ through a Federal Jobs Guarantee including expanding AmeriCorps and providing Emergency Wage Support to save small businesses and keep people on the payroll. Work to find federal funding for town transfer facilities to offset the increased cost of recycling. Create a Rehoboth Congressional Advisory Board to stay connected to local issues in Rehoboth and ensure stakeholder voices are heard in Washington.
