Used by biotech companies to determine where they should locate, this top rating highlights Franklin’s potential for future economic growth. » The Black Box Performing Arts Center draws artists, local creators, tourists and businesses to downtown Franklin.

Franklin’s Challenges » Teacher Layoffs and Retirements. Franklin is facing significant teacher layoffs due to budget shortfalls. The town is working to reduce a projected 103 layoffs to below 50. » Unemployment Caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. By April, Franklin’s unemployment rate had risen from 3.6% to 14%. » Transportation Challenges due to increased congestion. Need for an extension of a second rail into Franklin and for the renovation of the 495Mass Pike interchange. » Small Business Preservation in the face of lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hold companies that are complicit in the opioid crisis accountable by heavily regulating and imposing harsher punishments on those involved with its distribution. Create a Franklin Congressional Advisory Board to stay connected to local issues in Franklin and ensure stakeholder voices are heard in Washington.
