Milford’s Assets and Initiatives » Economic Development. Milford is seeking innovative ways to become business friendly, including developing a Town Hall economic development board or committee. » Downtown Revitalization Committee. This active committee is working to renovate and maintain downtown areas for the benefit of the public. » Covid-19 Efforts. Citizens for Milford recently broadcast “Confronting the Challenges of COVID-19,” honoring healthcare professionals and highlighting public health efforts. » The town also boasts an active Senior Center and Parks Department, serving the needs of residents old and young.
Milford’s Challenges » Education Funding. Milford’s school budget is under enormous stress due to falling tax revenues during the pandemic. » Opioid Crisis. In 2019, there were nearly 2,000 confirmed opioid-related overdose deaths state-wide. Milford residents voiced their deep concerns about this issue. » Infrastructure. Milford residents note that improvements are needed to address increasing traffic, road repair, and pedestrian safety. » Unemployment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
