Clubs planned many events and project during the week.

DIVISIONAL TRAININGS Slow Progress is better than no progress Typically, each division host a training conference to educate and train the executive body of the various schools in order for each student leader to be aware of his/her roles and responsibility as well as the guidelines and procedures for Award forms and Project Reports.

At this point of the year, all divisional trainings have been executed. The rooms were full and representative of the division.

"Accountability is the glue that bonds commitment to results." - Will Craig In the President room, every attendee was educated on the importance of accountability. One should be aware of the proceedings of the club. As the president, you should ensure that each executive member executes his/her role to the best of his/her ability.

They were educated on the importance of International Dues, providing status reports to the Governor, Project Planning and execution and how to properly write a report.

These were Saturday's well spent.

DIVISION FOUR 29.11.19 On November 29, 2019, Division 4 executed their Crafts with K-kids Service Project at the Servite Primary School. Together, They engaged in activities such as painting, moulding and collaging. It was a joyous moment filled with the constant sound of enjoyment from the children.

The hours spent were filled with fun, laughter, creativity and exciting students who were geared and ready for another session of creative arts with Key Club Jamaica. |5

DIVISION 5 ARNAV CHATANI

Throughout the duration of the project, we played games and participated in various bonding exercises, allowing for the Key Club members and the girls of the home to become more inclined with one another. The project ended with us formally handing over the donations, as well as LG Shaelyn and her division providing each girl with a personal gift for the Christmas. We left the home at 1:30 p.m. after a spectacular day of both enjoyment and giving; a true Christmas celebration.

TUO NRUT TSEGRAL

On December 21, 2019, Division 5 ventured on a service project to the Melody Girls’ Home, Irwin, St. James. The project encompassed of collecting toiletries, food and other items to donated towards the girls at the home. We arrived at around 11:00 a.m., introduced ourselves and got to know a bit about the girls and the home itself.

DIVISION SIX

On Monday December 23, Division 6 visited the Maxfield Park Children’s Home. The members played ring games, musical chairs, jump rope and basketball with the children as well as sang Christmas carols.

This Christmas treat wouldn't be the same without presents and pastries. The children were given and donated boxes of items as a gift to the children from each school representative from this division.

13.12.19 DIVISION SEVEN Division 7 Christmas Donations Project at the Ebenezer Rehabilitation Center was a success. Along with donating the items, they got a tour of the campus and was educated on the purpose of the centre They facility has farming lands so they can be self-sufficient and field to ensure everyone is kept active.

CLUB RECOGNITION JAMAICA DISTRICT Congratulations!

You have been recognized for the project that was executued this holiday. Keep it up!

On Thursday December 19 the Meadowbrook High School Key Club partnered with the St Hugh’s High School Key Club. They invited Governor Thasleema Nkrumah. Together, we journeyed to the hills of Manchester in Newport to visit the residents of the Curphey Home.

Curphey Home has been a haven for exservicemen and women, providing care and protection for the veterans. The compound is cool, quite and very peaceful.

Despite the late start, everything quickly fell into place when we arrived. The manager, caretakers and the residents were extremely friendly and welcoming. As a group, we were even given an exclusive tour of the home’s facilities including the cemetery.

We distributed our care packages, interacted with each solider and learn some interesting things while they were serving in the Jamaican Army. It was a jolly time; an occasion that can be described with so many words. Overall, it was a memorable experience and one that we surely will not forget.

Christmas marks one of the busiest times of the yearespecially for Key Club members. The idea of service comes alive and our members branch out in efforts of sharing love and hope in any way possible. Christmas is about spreading that mesmerizing spirit with people you love and even more to those who don’t have family to share in that joy.

Many Old Age Homes are filled with individuals bursting with wisdom. Most of these people don’t have families to come and take them away for the Christmas or to even look for them throughout the year. What better way is there to build our home, school and community than reminding these gate keepers of knowledge that they are still loved and appreciated ?

On the 23rd of December, Kingston College partnered with Mount Alvernia High School in visiting the Nubian Life Care Services in Runaway Bay, St. Ann. A few members from the St. Hugh’s High School for Girls and Campion College also tagged along on the journey. The day was initiated with devotion and prayer. Whereafter, Key Club members spent the day feeding 16 elderly individuals and listening to their life stories. They contributed efforts surmising to over $80,000 in donations of toiletries to the home to aid in taking care of their amazing occupants. The day was concluded with a care package donation to every person in the home, including members of staff.

The members left there with joy in their hearts as smiles on the faces of the occupants was a representation of the success of the project. This project made an impact as we used it as a conduit to share our Key Club Way of Life-Service.

GOVERNOR'S PERSPECTIVE Dear Key Clubs , Thank You to the clubs that invited me to their project this month. It has truly been an unforgettable moment. The hassle of organizing and executing these projects were on the clubs. There is nothing better than being a regular Key Club member enjoying and participating in a project. These projects have inspired me and truly reminded me of why I joined and stayed in Key Club. All the projects were smooth, and very efficient. It was a small group of willing, understanding and motivated people. It was a privileged to be amongst each group this holiday. Moments like these are needed and I will look back at these projects with a smile.

HOLIDAY THROWBACK

CIRCLE -K CHRISTMAS CONCERT The KFAM committee of Circle K International, in an effort to build a stronger bond with the rest of the Kiwanis family, hosted a Christmas concert.

The concert was held at the Mico University College. There was lots of Christmas cake and sorrel, among other things on sale. It was quite an intimate night. We experienced performances from Circle K’ers, Kiwanians and even a Builders Club Member.

KCNK CHRISTMAS MEETING On December 18, 2019, Kiwanis Club of New Kingston hosted their Christmas Meeting . It was a night of festivities. The different levels of the K-Family partake in a play, retelling the story of the birth of Jesus. We decorated mini Christmas Trees in various groups. Members in attendance, drank sorrel and ate fruits. Most importantly, everyone got the opportunity to interact and laugh amongst friends. It was a good way to close off for the holidays.
