Welcome to the New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season and got to spend a lot of time with your friends, family, and loved ones! There are only four more months left until the end of our term and we remain focused on the work we have started.
In the coming months we have a lot to do and I look forward to your continued support and efforts in achieving all that we have left to do. Also, Dues-season is now long passed, but in order to reach our membership goal and keep all of our clubs in good-standing, remember that you can pay your dues at anytime, and that new members are welcome to join the Jamaica District at any time.
Let me close by thanking the wonderful persons who make up the Jamaica District for all the work you have all done, heading into the New Year. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or concerns.
YOURS IN SERVICE, Khijani

Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water.
Why Water? Health and Sanitation: Waterborne diseases are responsible for more easily preventable young deaths a year than HIV, Malaria, and all world violence combined. Small children typically do not have strong enough immune systems to fight diseases like cholera, dysentery, or schistosomiasis
They've teamed up with the epic world-changers at Kiwanis International, Circle K, and especially their Key Club to create amazing campaign content that raises awareness of the global water crisis and raises funds to get clean water to those who need it most.
They're honored to partner with an incredible 100 year-old organization to take our “Thirsty 30” campaign to hundreds of thousands of students (Congrats, guys! You don’t look a day over 99!)

The first Key Club formed in 1925 in Sacramento, California, with 11 charter members. Key Club was the idea of two Sacramento Kiwanis Club members, Albert C. Olney and Frank C. Vincent, who also were high school administrators. They approached their Kiwanis club with the idea of starting a junior service club in the high school. It would resemble Kiwanis, have its own classifications based on school interests and hold luncheon meetings
The club was comprised of the key boys in the school, willing to serve the school in any way possible and to create better school spirit. Thus, the club was dubbed Key Club. Soon, the club that started out as a vocational guidance program expanded to become a complete service organization for the whole school. It also offered a social aspect to balance its service activities. Today, Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students in the world
Leadership » Leadership is grounded in humility and service to others. A true leader listens, recognizes, and empowers.

International Convention 2023 will be held from July 5 - 9 in Anaheim, California under the theme 'Lights, Camera, Service'
International Convention is where Key Clubs from all across the globe come together. Key Club members get to meet new people, learn how to increase their impact and be an overall better leader.
Let's make this the largest Jamaica delegation ever. Contact us if you are interested in attending ICON 2023
In 1946, the organization was challenged to build a program to bring together all Key Clubs and members to focus energies on making an international impact This program is still followed today through the Major Emphasis: Children: Their Future, Our Focus.
To fulfill the Major Emphasis, Key Club International serves children in many ways. By working with Key Club International's partner organizations, Key Clubs serve children by aiding other organizations committed to serving children. Key Club International celebrates its three partnerships: UNICEF, March of Dimes, and Children's Miracle Network.
The Key Club service initiative is another element of the Major Emphasis and is created on a two-year basis. All of the hands-on service provided to children by Key Club International members is directed to a single area of need, to make a substantial impact.
