Governor Khijani here with an update! I hope the transition to the new school year has gone well for you all, and that you are now comfortably situated in the pattern of learning. As we return to face-to-face schooling, I encourage you all to keep the momentum going as we continue serve our homes, schools, and communities.
I hope you all are as excited as I am, as I continue visiting your clubs for Installations and various activities, which allows me to get to meet you and your members, as we make memorable Key Club moments. We have so much work ahead us in the coming school year.
If you are a President or Vice President, don't hesitate to reach out if you need help, or just a regular member who wants someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me. I'd be happy to help in any way I can. Let's start this school year motivated to serve, get our clubs active and involved, and work hard!

If you’ve got a big assignment looming, like a research paper, stay motivated by completing a piece of the project every few days. Write one paragraph each night. Or, do 5 algebra problems from your problem set at a time, and then take a break.
When will you make the time to do your homework every day? Find the time of day that works best for you (this can change day-to-day, depending on your schedule!), and make a plan to hit the books.
Is your teacher finished lecturing, but you still have 10 minutes of class left? Get a jump on your chemistry homework while it’s still fresh in your mind Or use the time to ask your teacher about concepts that were fuzzy the first time.
Cramming Spanish vocabulary for a quiz might work in the short-term, but when comes time to study for midterms, you’ll be back at square 1. You might remember the vocab list long enough to ace the quiz, but reviewing the terms later will help you store them for the long haul.
A rough start to the term doesn’t have to sink your GPA/Average. Take proactive steps by checking your grades regularly and getting a tutor if you need one.

On September 23 the Convent of Mercy 'Alpha' had the opportunity to showcase their amazing club at their school's Club Expo. When the ladies arrived at their table they were greeted with brochures which gave them information about Key Club, and other Key Club related items. The ladies were informed of International dues and the benefits of joining Key Club.
On Thursday September 29th, the Meadowbrook High School Key Club got the opportunity to showcase their club to the students and teachers at their school. They read and explained the Aims and Objectives of Key Club and showed the students pictures of past projects they carried out. Key Club International is thrilled to announce our newest partnership with UNICEF Start Strong: Zambia. Members around the world will raise money to help young children in this southeastern African nation have the best start at life possible.
Through early childhood, the brain grows at an amazing rate, with 90% of its development completed by age 5 But in Zambia, three out of four first-grade students aren’t ready for school because they haven’t received proper nutrition, health care and learning opportunities.
You’ll be proud to know Key Club is making a difference by supporting UNICEF efforts to:
Build innovative community centers called Insakas with spaces for children to learn and play, a community kitchen, playground, water and sanitation facilities and a vegetable garden Train community based volunteers, health care providers and teachers to work with parents to create nurturing and stimulating environments for young children. Provide age appropriate toys such as blocks, stringing beads and books to encourage development and strengthen bonds between parents and children.
Key Club is excited to welcome Builders Club as partners in raising money and awareness for this cause!
Thanks to you, children in Zambia will grow up happier, healthier and better educated. And you won’t just be helping these children you’ll be creating long-term change in an entire country.

The club was comprised of the key boys in the school, willing to serve the school in any way possible and to create better school spirit – hence the name Key Club. In 1943, Key Club reached international status and Malcolm Lewis became the 1st president

In 1946, the organization was challenged to build a program to bring together all Key Clubs and members to focus energies on making an international impact This program is still followed today through the Major Emphasis: Children: Their Future, Our Focus.
To fulfill the Major Emphasis, Key Club International serves children in many ways. By working with Key Club International's partner organizations, Key Clubs serve children by aiding other organizations committed to serving children. Key Club International celebrates its three partnerships: UNICEF, March of Dimes, and Children's Miracle Network.
The Key Club service initiative is another element of the Major Emphasis and is created on a two-year basis. All of the hands-on service provided to children by Key Club International members is directed to a single area of need, to make a substantial impact.
