Stay true to yourself! Passion is the No 1 thing an executive board member looks for. Experience is a plus but not necessary. But by being passionate, you can gain so much.

Yes! This is the hypest week of all weeks! KCJA District has the best celebration!
Key Club Week gives you the opportunity to show your community what Key Club is truly about: service. Each day places an emphasis on service, to promote Key Club within our homes, schools and communities and to make Key Club a household name.
This year, we celebrated Key Club Week from the 6th - 11th of November.
We saw the return of face-to-face activities by our clubs, and the district with the Annual Church Service and Mass Meeting.
In true Key Club Jamaica District style we started the most exciting week of the year, with our Annual District Church Service. Key Club members from all across the island journeyed to consecrate this important week at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, for the first time since 2019 It was a true representation of showing that Key Club Jamaica is back
This service, saw Governor Khijani reading a Proclamation by His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Linton Allen ON, GCMG, CD, KStJ, Governor General of Jamaica proclaiming the week of 6th-12th of November as Key Club Week in Jamaica.
The church service was followed by our road march and 'vibez check' to start Key Club Week off on the right note
The first day of Key Club Week is celebrated under the theme 'Show Your K'. This is where key club members have the opportunity to show people what Key Club is about. The can spread the word through various means from wearing Key Club gear to publicizing Key Club Week all around their schools.
Key Club members right across the island showed their K in various means as they engaged in the first day of the Key Club Week activities.
The second day of Key Club Week is celebrated under the theme 'Kudos to Key Players'. This is where key club members have the opportunity to personally thank all the Key Club supporters they know - teachers, advisors and other key players.
Our members used creative ways in which they recognized Key Players who have supported them and contributed to the organization.
The third day of Key Club Week is celebrated under the theme ' Dare to Share'. Under this theme Key Club members are encouraged to celebrate diversity and equity with the Key Club family.
Our clubs right across the island took various approaches in playing their part in the celebrations as they dared to share. See some pictures on some of our clubs as they got involved
The fourth day of Key Club Week is celebrated under the theme "Random Acts of Kindness". A smile goes a long way.
Key Club members are encouraged to spread happiness throughout their school by implementing little random acts of kindness, such as leaving cards with inspirational messages or just simply holding the door for som
A huge part of what defines Key Club Week here in the Jamaica District is our Annual Mass Meeting, where we have members from the entire K-Family, gather together and interact.
The final day of Key Club Week is celebrated under the theme 'Connect the K'. Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and is a member of the Kiwanis family.
To celebrate this day our Key Clubs got the entire K-Family together by having various inter-clubbings, to get the whole gang involved.
As I continued my efforts to interact with Key Club members right across the District, I visited and attended the Excelsior High School Key Club. The Home Club of the Lieutenant Governor for Division Two, Audine Mcintosh was hosting its Installation Ceremony which I participated in by officially retiring the outgoing board.
The opportunity was also used to encourage members to pay their International Dues and update them on various District-wide activities upcoming.
As we celebrated Key Club week this month, there were a number of Kiwanis events which Governor Khijani was invited to to participate in. He participated in a panel discussion led by the Kiwanis Club of Eastern St. Andrew which was on "The Impact of Key Club on My Journey". This event saw the participation of both current and past Key Club members, including Charter Governor of the Key Club Jamaica District, Andrew Pairman.
Additionally, Governor Khijani along with District Administrator Humber attended the 90th Birthday Celebration of DLGE Lloyd Distant Sr. who made tremendous contributions to Key Club in Jamaica, this was led by the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Kingston.
Led by the respective Lieutenant Governors, on two occasions Governor Khijani traveled to participate in Divisional Training Conferences. The Divisional Training Conferences stand as key part of making sure that all key club members understand their roles and responsibilities within the organization.
Governor Khijani had the high privilege and distinct honour in the training of the Club Presidents at both Divisional Training Conferences. The first of which was held at the Glenmuir High School in Clarendon, Jamaica by Lieutenant Governor for Division Three, Ghabrielle Rhoden. The second Divisional Training Conference was held jointly by Lieutenant Governors Audine Mcintosh and Dijonae Daley for Divisions Two and Six respectively at the St. Andrew High School for Girls in St. Andrew, Jamaica.

You’ll be proud to know Key Club is making a difference by supporting UNICEF efforts to:
Build innovative community centers called Insakas with spaces for children to learn and play, a community kitchen, playground, water and sanitation facilities and a vegetable garden
Train community-based volunteers, health care providers and teachers to work with parents to create nurturing and stimulating environments for young children. Provide age-appropriate toys such as blocks, stringing beads and books to encourage development and strengthen bonds between parents and children.
Key Club is excited to welcome Builders Club as partners in raising money and awareness for this cause!

Key Club was started by Albert C. Olney & Frank C. Vincent on May 7, 1925 at Sacramento High School which still exists as a Key Club today. They approached a neighboring Kiwanis club to help charter a similar club for service at their high school. The club was comprised of the key boys in the school, willing to serve the school in any way possible and to create better school spirit – hence the name Key Club. In 1943, Key Club reached international status and Malcolm Lewis became the 1st president

The Key Club of Kingston College, which was chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Kingston, is widely believed to have been the first Key Club in Jamaica, but this was not so. The first Key Club to be chartered in Jamaica was the Ocho Rios Junior Secondary School which was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ocho Rios on September 21, 1970.
Soon after, the North Western Academy was chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Montego Bay (March 1971), Kingston College which was chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Kingston (March 1974) and Iona High School which was also chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Ocho Rios. By this time, Key Clubs in Jamaica were growing exponentially and these clubs were a part of the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District.
By 1984, the number of Key Clubs in Jamaica had grown to forty-five (45) with approximately 1,000 members. Because of this rapid growth, the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District Board and Governor believed it would have made it difficult to manage together the Key Clubs in Jamaica along with the clubs in the Caribbean and the Eastern Canada Districts, so the Governor visited Jamaica with a proposal to form a Caribbean District. Upon hearing this proposal, Jamaica made a counter proposal that they would enthusiastically agree to a Jamaica District, accepting the challenge of administering a Jamaica District only.
On a Saturday in October of 1975, an all island Key Club meeting was held at the Ocho Rios High School. The purpose of this meeting was to establish the new “Key Club District of Jamaica” and to adopt the following declarations:
The official name of the district “Key Club District of Jamaica”.
The By-laws of the District.
The District Dues of JMD $10.00 per member.
The District Governor Andrew Pairman of the Meadowbrook High School
The District Secretary–Treasurer Janet Walker of the St. Catherine High School. The District Administrator DLG Michael Henrique.

In 1946, the organization was challenged to build a program to bring together all Key Clubs and members to focus energies on making an international impact This program is still followed today through the Major Emphasis: Children: Their Future, Our Focus.
To fulfill the Major Emphasis, Key Club International serves children in many ways. By working with Key Club International's partner organizations, Key Clubs serve children by aiding other organizations committed to serving children. Key Club International celebrates its three partnerships: UNICEF, March of Dimes, and Children's Miracle Network.
The Key Club service initiative is another element of the Major Emphasis and is created on a two-year basis. All of the hands-on service provided to children by Key Club International members is directed to a single area of need, to make a substantial impact.
