What did we do? Fun Photos! Francis Lewis High School Key Club came together and organized food for the Kehilat Food Pantry! Sorting through numerous forms of produce and foods was not only for community service, but also educated us on specific kosher foods. Kosher food is food suitable for Jewish people. It was a great time to help out people in need while learning about customs; a great way to kick off the new month.
Volunteers were split into two groups: banner carriers and umbrella dancers. Banner carriers helped Japanese organizations have themselves showcased in the parade, while umbrella dancers performed with the use of umbrellas. This event was important because it represented the Japanese community, and during AAPI month, it’s so important to learn more about different Asian cultures. This event was a success!
What did we do?
Annually, Taste of Tribeca is held to fundraise money for PS. 150 and PS. 234. The event consists of culinary organizations showing off their dishes to Tribeca. Although rainy, Key Club members were still able to help organize trash into recycling, compost, and waste. Key Club members also helped serve water and dishes to visitors of the event.
Fun Photos!
Fun Photos! In honor of May, AAPI month, Key Club participated in the AAPI Parade held by Better Chinatown. In this event, volunteers dressed up as mascots, marched, and more. The parade showcased the traditions of numerous Asian cultures and Key Club is happy to have helped the presentation of them go smoothly.

What did we do?
Fun Photos! Key Club helped honor those who fought for America in the Memorial Day Parade. Key Club helped set up and clean up the parade in Little Neck. Food was provided and commemorating our veterans is so important in America. Thanks to all those who went to this event on their day off!
The following members ication towards Key Club the positions they applied excited to work with them year.
have shown clear dedClub and were elected for applied for as a result. We are them during this service year.
Key Club members are vital to the fundamentals of Key Club. However, every month, there is a special person that stands out.
“I’ve had a great experience as a part of Key Club this year, working together with my peers and bonding over improving our community has been nothing but wonderful. As tough as it is to sell confetti poppers in the freezing cold, sort through pounds of vegetables, and carry a parade banner in the spring sun, I’ve cherished every event. I’m excited to continue contributing to such an admirable cause and community!”
- Ameera SajjadUnicef is an organization that advocates for helping underprivelaged children in communities. They advocate for children’s education and food resources.
Kiwanis International is a global nonprofit organization. Without Kiwanis International, Key Club wouldn’t exist, hence making it a vital part of our community.
Kiwanis International has combatted hunger, improved literacy, offered guidance, and more. They’ve helped children and individuals on a global scale.
Quokka Quote of the Month: “Aren’t we all dreading finals? (To some extent).”

Hello, FLHSKC! Sorry if this newsletter is a little boring and late compared to the other newsletters; I’ve been extremely busy. Good luck on finals and please stay safe out there. By the way, the day I’m uploading this newsletter is my birthday! (June 11).
