ACCESS AUTHORISATION

Your personal access authorisation (personalised badge and, if applicable, wristband) will be issued to you at the Registration Desk upon presentation of your e-ticket and ID.

Your personal access authorisation will be checked at the entrance of each location. Delegates are given preferential admission at all official Reeperbahn Festival concert locations (subject to venue capacity). Delegates gain admission at larger locations via a separate fast lane for delegates and at smaller locations by showing their delegates badge. Both a personalised delegates badge AND a wristband are required to gain admission to official concert locations. To gain access to the sessions and the Reeperbahn Festival Lounge (Sessions Only Ticket), a delegates badge alone is sufficient. If you lose your badge or wristband you are not entitled to admission or to a replacement. You will have to re-register and pay on site at the Registration Desk.

Registration Desk Reeperbahn 1, 20359 Hamburg (opposite the Reeperbahn Festival Lounge) Wed., 16:00-22:00 Thur. - Sat., 9:00-22:00 Registration Desk Airport Hamburg Airport, Terminal 2 Wed., 11:00-19:00 Thur., 9:00-18:00 Fri., 9:00-15:00

WUNDERKINDER – GERMAN MUSIC TALENT

25

WUNDERKINDER – GERMAN MUSIC TALENT Following last year’s successful Wunderkinder debut, the Reeperbahn Festival takes to achieve broad appeal outside Germany. The Wunderkinder project aims to help German artists establish and maintain a solid, long-term position in the international market. On the evening of 17 September a total of ten acts will perform in three venues: the Imperial Theater, Prinzenbar, and Mojo Club. What’s special about these shows is the audience – 30 invited international buyers handpicked from the management, live entertainment, and recording industry sectors. This year the Wunderkinder programme will be supplemented by a matchmaking event during which international talent buyers can meet and talk to German artists and artists’ reps. Already on Wednesday afternoon the talent buyers will be introduced to the potential of music made in Germany and to the participating artists and their specific needs to reach out to foreign markets. This presentation will be hosted by Steve Blame (Autor, TV-Producer & Presenter) and supported by Stephan Thanscheidt,

(Managing Director & Head Of Festival Booking at FKP Scorpio) and Robert Schulz (Finance Management at Intiative Musik). Participating acts: Claire, Still Parade, Jesper Munk, Luca Vasta, Ωracles, Xul Zolar, KID SIMIUS LIVE, Talking To Turtles, COMA and Malky. “Wunderkinder – German Music Talent“ supports the sales of German music in international markets.

Wunderkinder – German Music Talent is supported by Initiative Musik gGmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media on the basis of a resolution passed by German Bundestag.

THE ST. PAULI CLUB SCENE

PHOTO BUILDING SITE: © REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL VISUAL KLUBHAUS ST. PAULI: © AKYOL KAMPS: BBP, VISUAL: MOKA-STUDIO

THE ST. PAULI CLUB SCENE More than 100 people lived in what were known as the “Esso buildings”.The building complex was also home – in some cases for decades – to a hotel (and its pub), what was probably Germany’s most famous petrol station, a sex shop, a clothing store, a takeaway place, Molotow and Molotow Bar, the Herz von St. Pauli, the Hörsaal, and the Planet Pauli. The fight to preserve the Esso buildings came to an abrupt end in the spring of 2014. Cracks in the foundation and masonry led very quickly to the evacuation of the building’s residents and commercial tenants. The complex was then demolished. What will probably be years of planning and construction lie ahead. The residents have to find homes elsewhere. Some of the clubs have settled into new spaces in St. Pauli; others closed their doors for good after moving out. For the Reeperbahn Festival the disappearance of the Esso buildings has meant the loss not only of important venues, but also of cherished partners and, of course, of a fair amount of atmosphere – festivalgoers and delegates were fond of gathering inside and in front of the venues located at the foot of the two Esso tower blocks. And so the Reeperbahn Festival will help work to ensure that room will be made in a new building for cultural venues, for unconventional clubs, and that along this now boarded-up stretch of the “Geile Meile” (or “Randy Road”, as singer Udo Lindenberg once called it), the traditional Reeperbahn allure will be resurrected as far as possible in the near future. There’s also some good news for the St. Pauli club scene. For one, Hasenschaukel will live on – a successful crowdfunding campaign this past summer helped keep this club in business. And then there’s the Klubhaus

St. Pauli (www.klubhaus-sanktpauli.de), which is holding its topping-out ceremony on 20 September 2014, during this year’s Reeperbahn Festival, and will be home to office space and seven venues and restaurants. Old friends such as Sommersalon, Kukuun, and On Air are returning to the neighbourhood. A cabaret theatre will also open. On the roof there’ll be a club with roof terrace for up to 350 patrons and in the basement an even bigger club for up to 400 people. The Klubhaus’s ultimate eye-catcher will be its media facade – there will be no other like it in the world. And the location couldn’t be better: on Spielbudenplatz, between Schmidt Theater and Docks. Those who don’t want to wait until Reeperbahn Festival 2015 to experience the Klubhaus and its venues “live” have an opportunity to get a first look at the building this year. The property developers from the Hamburg office Urban Space will take two tour groups through the building’s shell and provide insights into the idea, development, and design of the Klubhaus. The New Clubs on Spielbudenplatz – Tour Through the Klubhaus St. Pauli Building Site Thur., 18 Sept., 11:00-12:00 Fri., 19 Sept., 11:00-12:00 Sturdy shoes recommended. The building site is not wheelchair accessible. The tour will be in German or English as needed. Max. 20 people per tour. No advance registration necessary. MEETING POINT: meet shortly before the start of the tour at the Reeperbahn Festival Info Desk (Spielbudenplatz, opposite Docks)
