Bei den IFCS Weltmeisterschaften im Sportklettern vom 06. bis 16. September 2018 kämpfen in Innsbruck über 700 AthletInnen um die Medaillen im Lead, Bouldern, Speed und erstmals auch dem olympischen Kombinationsformat. Parallel dazu finden die Titelkämpfe im Paraclimbing an den gleichen Venues statt.

ehn Tage dreht sich in Innsbruck alles um die spektakuläre KletterWeltmeisterschaft. Die besten internationalen AthletInnen gehen in verschiedenen Bewerben an den Start. Die Fans erwartet neben sportlichen Höchstleistungen ein außergewöhnliches Eventprogramm.

Alle Finale in der Olympiaworld

Für die Halbfinal- und Finalrunden wurde die Olympiaworld in eine Kletterarena für mehr als 5.000 Zuschauer verwandelt. Bei der WM-Generalprobe 2016 sorgten die Fans für eine unvergleichliche Stimmung und verwandelten die Halle in einen wahren Hexenkessel. Die Kombination aus Weltklassesportlern, großartigen Kletterwänden und perfekter Inszenierung wird für eine einzigartige WM-Atmosphäre sorgen! Die Finalentscheidungen in der Arena in der

Olympiaworld finden in den Abendstunden und größtenteils an den beiden WM-Wochenenden statt.

Qualis im Kletterzentrum Innsbruck

Die Qualifikationsrunden gehen im neuen Kletterzentrum Innsbruck über die Bühne. Die Kletteranlage am Ufer der Sill entspricht modernsten Standards und setzt in Sachen Architektur, Größe und Qualität neue Maßstäbe. Mit einer großen Innen- und Außenanlage, insgesamt 5.900 m2 nutzbarer Kletterfläche und über 700 Routen und Boulder-Problemen verzahnt sie Breiten- und Leistungssport auf einzigartige Art und Weise. Seine Feuertaufe erlebte das Kletterzentrum im Sommer 2017 bei der Jugend- und Junioren-WM, wo sogar fast 1.200 AthletInnen am Start waren.

Bouldern | Bouldering

Beim Bouldern geht es um die Bewältigung komplexer Einzelzüge. Geklettert wird in Absprunghöhe und ohne Seil, aber mit Weichboden. Bouldering involves mastering complex individual moves. Athletes climb at jump height and without rope, but with soft ground to fall on.

Lead

Beim Lead gilt es, in einer extrem schwierigen Route innerhalb von 6 Minuten so weit wie möglich zu klettern. Lead climbing involves climbing as far as possible within 6 minutes in an extremely difficult route.

Speed Beim Speed entscheidet die Geschwindigkeit. Der Sieger wird K.O.-System ermittelt.

Speed is the decisive factor in speed climbing. The winner is determined over the course of several knockout rounds.

Kombination | Combined Format Für die Kombination werden die Ergebnisse aus den Einzeldisziplinen multipliziert.

Entertainment am Innsbrucker Marktplatz

Der Marktplatz ist die WM-Homebase im Herzen der Stadt und als „Climbers Paradise Village“ Treffpunkt für Gäste und Locals gleichermaßen. Das umfangreiche Rahmenprogramm wird von der imposanten Kulisse der Nordkette in Szene gesetzt und versorgt alle kletterbegeisterten Breitensportler. Darüber hinaus sind die AthletInnen der WM in Reichweite: Am Marktplatz finden alle Siegerehrungen statt. Die Besucher bei der Kletter-WM werden hier auch aktiv zum Mitmachen eingeladen! Ganz nach dem WM-Motto „Climb. Come together. Celebrate.“. Neben Konzerten, Multimediavorträgen oder Filmvorführungen haben Fans aus aller Welt die Möglichkeit, den Klettersport selbst aktiv auszuüben, z. B. im Rahmen von Workshops oder auch Hobby-Contests. Over 700 athletes will be competing for medals in events featuring lead, bouldering and speed climbing – and for the first time also the Combined Olympic Format – during the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Championships in sport climbing from 6 to 16 September 2018 in Innsbruck. The title contests in paraclimbing will be held at the same venues on a parallel basis.

The Olympiaworld has been transformed into a climbing arena for more than 5,000 spectators for the semi-final and final rounds. During the 2016 “dress rehearsal” for the World Championships, fans ensured an incomparable atmosphere and transformed the Olympiahalle into a truly bubbling cauldron of excitement. The combination of world-class athletes, fantastic climbing walls and perfect staging will ensure a unique World Championships atmosphere! The final decisions in the arena at Olympiaworld fill take place in the evening hours and for the most part on the two weekends of the World Championships.

Qualifying rounds at Kletterzentrum Innsbruck (climbing centre) Qualification rounds will be held at the new Kletterzentrum Innsbruck. The climbing facility on the banks of the Sill River meets the most modern standards and sets new standards in terms of architecture, size and quality. With a large indoor and outdoor complex featuring a total of 5,900 m² of usable climbing space and over 700 routes and bouldering problems, it intermeshes mass sport and high-performance sport in a unique way. The climbing centre experienced its baptism of fire in the summer of 2017 during the Youth and Junior World Championships, where even almost 120 athletes were at the start.

Entertainment at Innsbruck Marktplatz (Market Square) Marktplatz is the home base of the World Championships (WC) in the heart of the city, and as the “Climber’s Paradise Village” it serves as the meeting place for guests as well as locals. The extensive supporting programme will be staged against the impressive backdrop of the Nordkette mountain range and provide the right setting for all weekend warriors enthusiastic about climbing. UCI STRASSENRAD WM 2018 IN INNSBRUCK

on 22. bis 30. September 2018 gibt sich das „Who is Who“ des Rennradsports in Innsbruck/Tirol ein Stelldichein. Zum ersten Mal ist Tirol mit der Host City Innsbruck Gastgeber der UCI Road World Championships und darf die absoluten Top-Stars der Szene willkommen heißen. Innsbruck avanciert damit für die Zeit der WM zum Dreh- und Angelpunkt der StraßenradElite. Für sportlich ambitionierte Rennradfahrer, die auf den Spuren der TopStars radeln wollen, ist Innsbruck aber das ganze Jahr über eine Reise wert. International haben sich die WM-Strecken bereits einen Namen gemacht. Insider sprechen von einer der herausforderndsten und höhenmeterreichsten Straßenrad Weltmeisterschaften aller Zeiten. Getreu dem Motto „Riding the Heart of the Alps“ führen die spektakulären Strecken über steile Rampen und rasante Abfahrten durch die imposante Tiroler Bergwelt, immer mit Ziel im Herzen von Innsbruck direkt vor der prestigeträchtigen Hofburg. Die Tiroler Landeshauptstadt avanciert damit für die Zeit der WM zum Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Straßenrad-Elite und Treffpunkt für rund 1.000 Athleten und bis zu 500.000 erwarteten Zuschauern.

Einmal Hölle und zurück

Zwölf Bewerbe werden im Rahmen der Straßenrad-WM in Innsbruck entschieden. Darunter Einzel- und Mannschaftszeitfahren sowie mehrere Nachwuchsbewerbe und natürlich die Elite-Rennen der weltbesten Herren und Damen. Das Highlight der WM ist das Herren-Elite-Straßenrennen am letzten Renntag, dem 30. September: Das Rennen führt über 265 Kilometer und rund 5.000 Höhenmeter von Kufstein nach Innsbruck. Insgesamt sieben Mal gilt es den 24 km langen Rundkurs durch die Feriendörfer Aldrans, Lans und Igls und die Innsbrucker Innenstadt zu bewältigen, bevor sich beim letzten Anstieg auf die Hungerburg – durch die berühmt-berüchtigte „Höttinger Höll“ - die Spreu vom Weizen trennt. Mit bereits über 4.000 Höhenmetern in den Beinen wird dieser letzte Streckenabschnitt mit einer Steigung von 28 % seinem Namen mehr als gerecht und die Athleten an die Grenzen ihrer Leistungsfähigkeit bringen. 2018 ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN INNSBRUCK

he “who’s who” of road bicycle racing will be meeting in Innsbruck/Tyrol from 22 to 30 September 2018. Tyrol with the host city Innsbruck is venue of the UCI Road World Championships for the first time and may welcome the absolute top stars of the scene. As a result, Innsbruck will advance to the hub of the road bike elite for the period of the World Championships (WC). But for ambitious road bikers who want to cycle in the tracks of top stars, Innsbruck is worth a trip all year round. The WC routes around Innsbruck have already made a name for themselves internationally. Insiders refer to one of the most challenging – including the total elevation gain – Road World Championships of all time! True to the motto “Riding the Heart of the Alps”, the spectacular routes lead over steep ascents and rapid descents through the imposing Tyrolean mountain world, always with the destination of the heart of Innsbruck directly in front of the prestigious Imperial Palace (Hofburg). As a result, the Tyrolean capital will advance to the hub of the road bike elite for the period of the World Championships and will be the meeting place for about 1,000 athletes and up to 500,000 anticipated spectators.

Ride to hell and back

Twelve competitions will be decided in the course of the Road World Championships, including Individual Time Trials and Team Time Trials as well as several junior competitions and naturally the elite races of the world’s best men and women.The highlight of the World Championships is the Elite Men road race on the last day of racing, 30 September: the race leads from Kufstein to Innsbruck over 265 kilometres and an elevation gain of about 5,000 metres. The 24 km long circuit has to be mastered a total of seven times through the holiday villages Aldrans, Lans and Igls as well as the Innsbruck city centre, before the “wheat is separated from the chaff” in the final ascent up to Hungerburg – through the infamous climb known as “Höttinger Höll” (“Hell in Hötting”)! After the riders already have a total elevation gain of 4,000 metres in their legs, this final section of the route with a gradient of 28% will more than live up to its name and bring athletes to the limits of their capability. INNSBRUCK IS THE ROAD BIKE REGION OF WORLD CHAMPIONS Ambitious hobby bikers can experience year-round what the road bike elite undergoes at the Road World Championships in Innsbruck. Zielbereich

Im großen Zielbereich im Herzen von Innsbruck, am Rennweg, sind die Besucher nicht nur bei den Entscheidungen immer hautnah dabei. Alle Rennen werden auf großen Videowalls live übertragen. Der Zielbereich mit VIP Area erstreckt sich vom Landestheater bis zum Hofgarten und bietet ein umfangreiches Gastronomieangebot.

Tickets

Tickets sind für den Zielbereich an allen WM-Renntagen bis auf Mo., 24.9.2018 (Eintritt frei), nötig und vor Ort oder online (www. innsbruck-tirol2018.com) erhältlich. Die Tickets inkludieren auch das komplette Rahmenprogramm im Zielbereich und berechtigen zur Nutzung des Regionalverkehrs (alle Bus-, Bahn- und Tramverbindungen in Tirol) sowie der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in Innsbruck am jeweiligen Tag.

Sideevents, Konzerte, Expo

Während tagsüber die sportlichen Leistungen zelebriert werden, kommt abends Festivalstimmung auf. Mit einem abwechslungsreichen Line-up im Zielbereich vor der Innsbrucker Hofburg geht es mit Ö3-Konzerten musikalisch so richtig zur Sache. Mit dabei sind unter anderem Culcha Candela, Seiler und Speer, Ofenbach & Lost Frequencies und LaBrassBanda. Am finalen WM-Wochenende von 27.-30.09.2018 präsentieren auf der Expo der UCI Straßenrad WM 2018 verschiedene Aussteller ihre neuesten Produkte und Innovationen rund um das Thema Rennrad. Die Expo findet auf dem Eduard-WallnöferPlatz (10 Gehminuten vom Zielgelände) statt.

Offizielle Fan-Zonen

Während der Straßenrennen von 27.-30.09.2018 sind auch drei offizielle Fan-Zonen mit Public Viewing geöffnet:  Landhausplatz Innsbruck  Schloss Ambras zwischen Innsbruck und Aldrans – direkt am Rundkurs der Straßenrennen  Patscherkofel-Talstation oberhalb von Igls – direkt am Rundkurs der Straßenrennen  Auch beim großen Public Viewing am Marktplatz können alle Rennen live auf großen Videowalls verfolgt werden.

Carmen für alle

Einen Tag vor dem offiziellen Beginn der Rad-WM, am 21.09.2018, genießen die Gäste der Innsbrucker Innenstadt ein ganz besonderes Ereignis. Das Tiroler Landestheater startet mit der Premiere der Oper „Carmen“ in seine neue Spielsaison und überträgt das Opernspektakel live auf die großen Videowalls im Zielgelände der Rad-WM, direkt vor dem Theater. Die Zuschauer erwarten große Emotionen, wenn Carmen bei Sonnenuntergang ihre berühmte „Habañera“ anstimmt und von grenzenloser Freiheit singt. Eintritt frei!

Finish area

In the large finish area in the heart of Innsbruck, at “Rennweg”, visitors are not only always up close to see the action during the decisions. All races will be broadcast live on large video walls. The finish area with VIP area extends from the State Theatre to the Court Garden (Hofgarten) and offers an extensive range of gastronomy.

Tickets

Tickets are necessary for the finish area on all Road World Championships racing days – with the exception of Monday, 24 Sept. 2018 (admission free) – and are available on site or online (www.innsbruck-tirol2018.com). Tickets also include the complete supporting programme in the finish area and entitle ticketholders to use of regional transport (all bus, train and tram connections in Tyrol) as well as public transport in Innsbruck on the respective day.

Side events, concerts

While sporting achievements will be celebrated during the day, a festival atmosphere emerges in the evening. Things really get going musically with Ö3 concerts featuring a varying line-up in the finish area in front of the Innsbruck Imperial Palace. Among other performers featured are Culcha Candela, Seiler & Speer, Ofenbach & Lost Frequencies and LaBrassBanda.

On the final weekend of the World Championships from 27-30 Sept. 2018, various exhibitors will be presenting their latest products and innovations pertaining to road bikes at the expo of the 2018 Road World Championships. The expo will be held at Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz (10 minutes by foot from the finish area).

During the road races from 27-30 Sept. 2018, three official fan zones with public viewing are also open:  Landhausplatz square in Innsbruck  Ambras Castle between Innsbruck and Aldrans – directly on the circuit of the road races  Bottom station of the Patscherkofel cable car above Igls – directly on the circuit of the road races  All races can also be followed live on large video walls during the large public view at Marktplatz.

Carmen for all

One day before the official start of the Road World Championships, guests in downtown Innsbruck can enjoy a very special event on 21 Sept. 2018. The Tyrolean State Theatre will be starting its new theatre season with the premiere of the opera “Carmen”, and will broadcast the opera spectacle live on large video walls in the finish area of the Road World Championships, right in front of the theatre. Spectators can anticipate great emotions when Carmen strikes up her famous “Habañera” at sunset and sings of limitless freedom. Admission is free!

25.-28.10.2018 Alle zwei Jahre treffen sich junge VolksmusikantInnen aus Österreich, Südtirol, Bayern und der Schweiz zum Alpenländischen Volksmusikwettbewerb in Innsbruck mit Wertungsspielen, Volkstanzabend, Musikantenhoangart, Festabend u. v. m. Every Sunday there is a free childcare programme. 20.-21.10.2018 An den zwei Messetagen versammelt sich alles in Innsbruck, was den Bergsport ausmacht: Hersteller, Marken, Veranstalter, Initiativen und Institutionen sowie viele bekannte Namen und Gesichter. 190 Aussteller informieren über neue Produkte für den Sommer- und Wintersport. Vorträge machen Lust auf neue Abenteuer und in Workshops gibt es wertvolle Tipps für die Sicherheit am Berg. Für die Alpinmesse Innsbruck kommen an die 12.000 Fans des Bergsportes in die Stadt. Man tauscht sich aus, erhält neuen Input, diskutiert, fachsimpelt und plaudert. Man trifft Gleichgesinnte, Freunde, Abenteurer und Kollegen.

Everything that constitutes mountain sports gathers in Innsbruck on the two trade fair days: manufacturers, brands, organisers, initiatives and institutions as well as many well-known names and faces. About 190 exhibitors provide information about new products for summer and winter sports. Presentations whet the appetite for new adventures, and workshops provide valuable tips for safety on the mountain. About 12,000 fans of mountain sports will be coming to Innsbruck for the Alpine Fair. Visitors can exchange information, obtain new input, discuss topics, talk shop and have a chat. Romantische Drehorte

Zu Drehorten bekannter Filmdrehs, aber auch weiteren „Hot Spots“ indischer Produktionen führt ab sofort die „Bollywood-Tour". Die von einem englischsprachigen Guide begleitete Tour startet in Innsbruck, führt die TeilnehmerInnen nach Praxmar zur Besichtigung jenes Hauses, das die Kulisse für die romantische Übernachtung der „Tiger Zinda Hai“-Stars darstellte und in den Alpengasthof Praxmar. Nach einem Abstecher auf die Seegrube stehen ein Besuch in der Kaiserlichen Hofburg und ein Spaziergang durch die Altstadt und die MariaTheresien-Straße auf dem Programm – ebenfalls zentrale Bollywood-Drehorte. Vor dem Abendessen werden noch die Swarovski Kristallwelten besichtigt. Die Tour verbindet das Filmgeschehen eindrucksvoll mit der Realität: Im Bus sowie auf Tablets des Stadtführers werden indische Bollywood-Filme bzw. -Szenen gezeigt, die in Innsbruck gedreht wurden – neben „Tiger Zinda Hai“ beispielsweise „Chal Mere Bhai“, „Yuvraaj“, „Action Jackson“ sowie die erfolgreiche TVSerie „Pardes mein hai mera dil“. ans of Indian films can now discover those sites where Bollywood blockbusters such as “Tiger Zinda Hai” were filmed in the Innsbruck region. Not only guests from India, but Bollywood fans from all over the world look forward to the somewhat different sightseeing tour.

Romantic film locations

As of now, the “Bollywood Tour” leads to well-known film locations, but also other “hot spots” of Indian productions. The tour accompanied by an English-speaking guide starts in Innsbruck and leads participants to Praxmar to tour the house that depicted the setting for the romantic overnight stay of the “Tiger Zinda Hai” stars and at Alpengasthof Praxmar. After a side trip to Seegrube, a visit to the Imperial Palace and a walk through the Old Town and Maria-Theresien-Straße – also central Bollywood film locations – are on the agenda. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are also visited before dinner. The tour impressively combines film events with reality: Indian Bollywood films and scenes which were filmed in Innsbruck are shown in the bus and on the city guide’s tablets. For example, in addition to “Tiger Zinda Hai”, “Chal Mere Bhai”, “Yuvvraaj”, “Action Jackson” as well as the successful TV series “Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil” are also shown. Making-of scenes and interviews with the actors, which also give very personal impressions of Innsbruck and Tyrol as a film location, convey ■ exclusive insights into the happenings on a film set.

Das Goldene Dachl ist ein spätgotischer Erker mit 2657 vergoldeten Kupferplatten, erbaut unter Kaiser Maximilian I. als Hofloge (1494-96). Es befinden sich Fresken am Erker und in der Loggia sowie Wappen- und Tänzerreliefs.

Mariahilf and St. Nikolaus

he Mariahilf/St. Nikolaus district is the oldest settlement in Innsbruck. Even before the city of Innsbruck was founded, St. Nikolaus emerged in 1165 under the name “Anpruggen” (which roughly means “on the Inn Bridge”). The strikingly colourful row of houses at the foot of the Nordkette mountain range on the Inn River is the embodiment of this district. Yet this district has even more to offer. The route over the Inn Bridge on the northern side of the city is worthwhile. Anpruggen is slightly off the most well-known tourist routes and attracts visitors with its narrow alleys as well as numerous pubs and traditional Tyrolean inns. When Emperor Maximilian I had the “Golden Roof” covered with 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles around 1500, it served as a box seat for jousting tournaments. Today a cheerful lifestyle in street cafés prevails under the Gothic arcades. Cheerful in pink & white stucco, the Helbling House celebrates Baroque musings, while the Innsbruck Cathedral features a magnificent picture of the Virgin Mary by Lucas Cranach the Elder. nce you are standing on a mountain summit, the world is virtually at your feet, and it seems as if only the sky is up above. “Very simple: summit victory” is the motto in the Innsbruck region when you can reach high altitude with the assistance of mountain railways and lifts. For instance, hikes to the highest elevations of mountains such as Patscherkofel, Hafelekar, Nockspitze or Rangger Köpfl are child’s play – and still offer spectacular views at an altitude of about 2,000 metres above sea level. But easy and relatively short hikes such as those up to Faltegartenkögele in Kühtai or the alpine pasture at Simmeringalm on the Mieming Plateau also make up for the effort with fabulous views and experiences of nature.

er Patscherkofel erhebt sich als „sanfter Riese“ aus Schiefer- und Quarzgestein im Süden von Innsbruck. Auf ihrem Hausberg direkt vor den Toren der Stadt haben Generationen von Innsbruckern Skifahren gelernt. 1928, also vor genau 90 Jahren, wurde die Patscherkofel-Seilschwebebahn eröffnet. Der Patscherkofel ist aber auch ein „Olympiaberg“. Bei den Olympischen Winterspielen 1964 und 1976 wurden hier mehrere Ski-Bewerbe ausgetragen. Bis heute gilt der „Kofel“, wie er liebevoll genannt wird, im Winter als herrliches Skigebiet und im Sommer als ideales Wandergebiet für Jung und Alt.

Generations of Innsbruck residents have learned skiing on their local mountain right in front of the gates of the city. The Patscherkofel cableway was opened in 1928, exactly 90 years ago.
