Employee Spotlight
Alejandro Saucedo
Meet the innovative minds behind our cutting-edge app development team. Today, we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on Alejandro Saucedo, an App Developer for K-Rise Systems. Alejandro brings a dynamic energy to our development team and we are proud to spotlight him!
Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and how did you get started in the field?
I lived the first half of my life in a small town in Michigan but moved to Chicago in 2010 and have lived there ever since. I majored in Computer Science and minored in Mathematics at Connecticut College. I wanted to major in Computer Science at first, but I realized after one class that I wasn’t as passionate as I thought. I had a friend taking the Computer Science introductory course, so I decided to give it a try and I fell in love with coding ever since.
Can you share a memorable moment or project you worked on as an app developer?
A memorable project I have worked on as a developer was the first I did working for K-Rise. I learned a lot of technical and non-technical skills from the developers I was working with at the time. It was a challenging project, but it felt great once the application went live.
What do you enjoy most about developing apps, and what challenges do you often face in your work?
I enjoy working through the process that it takes to develop a fully functional app. It’s fulfilling seeing each piece of functionality being created and becoming a part of a whole.
I always try to work through bugs or technical challenges at first, but if it seems too complicated and I can’t make progress on it, I can always ask my fellow developers to help. Then, if I encounter something similar in the future, I will have an idea on how to fix it.
How do you stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the ever-evolving world of app development?
I stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies through X (formally known as Twitter). I usually see what’s new or popular on my For You Page so it’s pretty easy to see what’s trending in the technological world.
Can you share any funny or interesting anecdotes from your experience as an app developer?
A funny, yet frustrating story as a developer, I was as a Freshman when I was working on a final project for my Data Structures class. During finals, my group and I were pulling all-nighters to complete the final project. We were close to being done, but we kept getting this error about an extra parenthesis. Most of us were pretty new to coding at the time, so we weren’t using the text editors that I use now as a developer, so it took us hours to finally fix the extra parenthesis and have the program working.
What are some of your favorite apps that you didn't develop yourself, and what do you admire about them from a developer's perspective?
My favorite apps I use frequently are streaming apps, Twitch, Youtube, and X. What I admire most about them, are how complicated these apps are and how big their databases must be to hold all the information they are holding. As a developer, I constantly theorized how each functional piece was coded.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Like most developers, I love playing video games outside of work. I also like watching different TV series and movies to relax; however, I enjoy going out with my friends and just being outside especially when the weather is nice. I like visiting different restaurants and trying new food. My favorite cuisine is Mexican, but I enjoy Japanese and Italian food as well.

BLUEPRINT Session #1:
Wednesday, May 8th at 4:00pm - 4:45pm CST in Room Coronado C
Centralizing Master Data Management – Product, Supplier, Customer, Assets/Equipment, Employee and Custom Data - Replacing Excel/Email with a No-Code Platform
Accurate master data is crucial to create & maintain system integrity. MDM guides users to ensure data is properly entered, approved, and systematically loaded, via integrations, into JDE.
It utilizes system processes reducing manual entry for improved accuracy and efficiency. Increased data complexity, volume, stricter compliance, and governance require real-time event-driven data processing to achieve a single master view of the data.
Eliminate Excel, email, and Shared/Dropbox folders. Automation removes inefficiencies like duplicate or missing data. Significantly reducing the time cycle saves money. Highly skilled resources are not required. Modern technology allows Business Users to create forms, workflows, and business logic using Visio-style designer tools pre-integrated to JDE endpoints. Businesses can easily manage form creation & change. We’ll demonstrate simple DRAG & DROP to form from selected fields (e.g., Item F4101 / Item Branch F4102 / Price F4105 / Branch Plant F0006 / UDC F0005, etc.)
Take the first step today to convert from tedious, complex, error-prone, and labor-intensive to a No-Code Workflow and form-centric managed approach of organized master data.

BLUEPRINT Session #3:
Creating Custom Mobile Applications using Orchestrations - Digital Work Order: Cycle Count: Purchase Order Receipts for Manufacturing
Case study demonstration / Review Michelman Mobile apps and integration with JDE using Orchestrations.
Trisha Muir: Michelman Dir. of ERP long realized status quo work order processes had to be improved. One primary reason was the need to improve visibility to the necessary PPE: hazards and process instructions before starting to manufacture a batch and capturing the acknowledgment from the operator. Michelman was able to add validations within the process to minimize waste and failed batches resulting in cost savings.
Sustainability is one of Michelman’s core values; digitizing the paperwork order helps them to achieve their goal of reducing the use of paper globally. Deployment is based on work center Zebra tablets with bar-coding OCR embedded.
Cycle Count app was created to allow associates from the office to participate in the annual Physical Inventory using their company phones. Michelman will also demonstrate mobile apps in process: Purchase Order Receipts and Picking/Shipping as well as opportunities to streamline master data and customer onboarding.
Attending these sessions will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements in Master Data Management (MDM), Spend Automation, and Custom Mobile Applications tailored for Manufacturing needs. You'll also have the opportunity to engage with industry experts, network with peers, and gain valuable insights to drive your business forward.

What Is a No/Low-Code Development Platform and How Should You Use It?
Accolade Wines Journey Using NoCode for 10+ JDE E1 Business Process Automation Projects
JDE suggests: To Realize the Value of Your Enterprise Data & Avoid JDE Modifications…” invest in a Low/No Code App Development Platform.
In 2021 Accolade Wines initiated Project Leapfrog for digital transformation. Some objectives included eliminating duplicate technologies, bespoke aged systems, and comple x dataflows & integrations. The new approach involved Standardization , Simplification and Consolidation”.
Accolade Wines in 2021 selected K-Rise and the acclaimed EAS YProcess Low/No-Code platform.
To date, over 10 strategic projects have been completed across the Business landscape (Commerce/Payments, Procurement, Inventory & Logistics ) focusing on Business Process Automation.
Alex Sams, Business Analyst from Accolade Wines UK develops, maintains, and e xtends apps with EASYProcess. He will review the importance of Client Project Development & Management ownership with the EASYProcess Low/No-Code platform.
The K-Rise EASYProcess Low-Code Application Development Platform was introduced to the JDE marketplace in 2005. It s helped over 100 JDE companies achieve Process Automation projects across the business landscape for almost 20 years. It reduces costs & improves processes for increased productivity.
K-Rise Systems is a certified Oracle Partner, and our solutions are Oracle Validated Integration (OVI) Certified (32 & 64). Session #2
B&G Foods: Master Data Material:
Replacing SharePoint with Improved JDE Integration, Workflow, Forms & Business Processes
B&G partnered with K-Rise using their acclaimed JDE pre-integrated No-Code IDE EASYProcess app development platform.
The B&G Master Data New Material Matrix factors: Material type: Finished Goods, Purchased Finish Goods, Packaging, Raw Material,s and WIP Cross-Functional Roles: Finance, Marketing, Logistics, Packaging, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, and Product Development.
The improved matrix vision with advanced automation required a platform that provided state-ofthe-art Workflow, Drag/Drop Form, Data, and Logic functionality that’s real-time integrated with E1. The platform needed to be Cloud No-Code for quick deployment, easy change, expansion, and client development ownership.
One big issue with SharePoint was it lacked advanced logic conditions, checks, and item flags which caused at times process flows to simply stop, without notifications to anyone. It required a lot of manual effort to fix item onboarding issues.
The session demonstration will review Business Process Automation examples like:
1 Real-Time JDE Integration: ntegrated to E1 Source of Record/Truth was a necessity. Correct UDC values and changing Item Status and Type mid-process was a base requirement.
2 Advanced Multi-Task Workflow: B&G needed more than simple; submit and save. At a status, the process needed to multi-task too many different Roles providing, as an example, Request to Deny Approval… changes the stocking type to O”(obsolete).
3 Communication / Visibility: Unit of Measure checks and validations occur across multiple roles and conditions. Advanced Workflow/Form/Logic platform functionality enabled complete automation with this complex process.
4 Replacing Hard-Coded logic with a Configurable Database: Category codes, Branch Plants, Item Defaults, and more had to be real-time and maintainable.
Master Data Management (MDM) provides organizations with an accurate and comprehensive view of their business-critical data such as Customers, Products, Vendors, Employees, Assets, Equipment, and more.
K-Rise Systems is a certified Oracle Partner, and our solutions are Oracle Validated Integration (OVI) Certified (32 & 64).
