K-Rise No-Code Overview

Many of you are familiar with our Low-Code Tools but we’ve designed a No-Code Platform specifically for solution architects and business analysts with little to no code-writing experience.

We would like to begin by highlighting the power of our No-Code Platform, particularly in how it contrasts with Low-Code solutions. No-Code development stands apart because it introduces an innovative, workflow-driven (workflow, forms, logic, data, etc.) drag-and-drop, and configuration-based canvas that allows users to build web applications— which can also be adapted for mobile use—without writing traditional code.

In traditional Low-Code environments, you’re still somewhat tied to the same methods as coding in traditional Java or C# development, you begin by creating objects and linking them through code, setting up various forms, and defining interactions—like what happens when a user clicks a button. While LowCode accelerates the process it doesn’t fundamentally change the development approach. With No-Code, the approach is completely different. It’s not just about creating forms or objects; it’s about designing the entire business process and logic with pre-built drag-and-drop forms without having to write a single line of code.

The first step in No-Code is drawing out your process using a visual workflow canvas. Instead of starting with forms or screens, No-Code asks bigger questions like:

Why do you need these forms?

Who will be using or approving them and in what order?

What role does each form play in the broader business process?

importance of business processes. Everything you develop in your enterprise essentially follows a business process. According to Wikipedia, a business process is a series of tasks or activities that are performed to achieve a concrete goal.

This concept is at the heart of our No-Code Platform. Whether it’s master data management, employee onboarding, vendor management, or asset tracking, each scenario is a business process. Even something as simple as maintaining a category code in JD Edwards can be a business process, especially when approvals or multiple users are involved.

Take vendor interactions, for instance. A vendor acknowledging a purchase order, submitting an invoice, or requesting modifications to their banking information—each of these scenarios is a business process. Similarly, managing access control, warehouse operations, or work orders all follow a defined process involving multiple users and steps. By streamlining these processes, businesses can improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure seamless collaboration across teams and departments.

The Future of No-Code Development

No-code platforms resonate well with solution architects and business analysts. It’s a natural fit. This No-Code approach is transforming how applications are built, making it easier for non-developers to take control of app creation while ensuring seamless integration and robust functionality from the start. All without having to write a single line of code!

K-Rise No-Code Offers:

A No-Code Web (Chrome) IDE that empowers non-programmers, and non-technical people to develop E1 integrated Mobile/Web apps with confidence.

No-Code is a game-changer, allowing your internal team to eliminate your app dev backlog with a modern easy-to-use rapid prototyping & development platform.

EASYProcess allows companies to eliminate or significantly minimize vendor services “spend” by bringing it in-house.

As you explore this No-Code journey, you’ll see how every part of your enterprise is, at its core, a business process—ready to be automated, streamlined, optimi zed, and brought to life through our NoCode development!

Employee Spotlight

Introducing this edition’s Employee Spotlight, where we proudly feature Filip Serwinski, a key member of the K-Rise App Development Team. We’re excited to recognize his dedication and the significant contributions he makes to our success.

Can you tell us a little about your background: Where you grew up, went to school/college etc…and how you got into app development?

I was born in Poland though as a child our family moved to America and grew up in Chicago. I went to Lane Tech High School and then to the University of Illinois at Chicago where I ended up studying Computer Science. I enjoyed learning about mathematics and the approach to rules and logic. I enjoy following sports like soccer and basketball.

What inspired you to pursue a career in technology and software development?

Originally, I was very interested in mathematics and considered pursuing something related to math. However, my roommate and a couple of my older friends taught me a little bit about programming and so I ended up pursuing it in college. Technology was considered to be a highly valuable education for the future as technology was evolving and so it seemed like a good opportunity to invest in.

How long have you been working as an app developer, and what brought you to K-Rise?

K-rise is actually my first tech job and I have been working as an app developer for 3 years now. K-rise was one of the companies I applied to after college. I was looking for a professional foot in the door and didn’t know much about K-Rise. It was appealing to me that it was a smaller tech company.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I enjoy lifting outside of work and regularly go to the gym. I enjoy going out with friends to different sporting events and concerts. I also like to follow some of the tech trends and financial trends. I tend to check up on the stock market a fair bit.

What was the first app or piece of software you ever built? How does it compare to the apps you build now?

I think one of the first pieces of software that I built was in a group of school projects. One of those included developing an application to track healthy developments focused on the User experience. Now at K-Rise I have worked on a vast majority of applications and have made changes, fixes, and updates to all aspects.

How do you stay current with the latest app development trends and technologies?

I follow along with some of the leading technologies on social media platforms and read about updates from journalists that report on technologies. I also listen to podcasts.

Have you learned any new programming languages or tools recently that you’re excited to apply?

Generally, since K-Rise is low code there isn’t as much traditional programming. However, I will say occasionally we do write custom javascript. Learning the different aspects of JavaScript has been interesting.

What do you enjoy most about being an app developer?

I think the most enjoyable part of being an app developer is working with such a variety of applications. K-Rise supports multiple applications to our clients and they are built for different purposes. It allows for constant learning and understanding of why certain aspects were built the way they were.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I played in my high school’s Marching band as a percussionist. I played the bass drum for 2 years and then played the quad tenors for 2 years.

BLUEPRINT Session # 3 :

Creating Custom Mobile Applications using Orchestrations - Digital

Work Order: Cycle Count: Purchase Order Receipts for Manufacturing

Case study demonstration / Review of Michelman Mobile apps and integration with JDE using Orchestrations.

Trisha Muir: Michelman Dir. of ERP long realized status quo work order processes had to be improved. One primary reason was the need to improve the visibility to the necessary PPE: hazards and process instructions before starting to manufacture a batch and capturing the acknowledgment from the operator. Michelman was able to add validations within the process to minimize waste and failed batches resulting in cost savings.

Sustainability is one of Michelman s core values; digitizing the paperwork order helps them to

achieve their goal of reducing the use of paper globally. Deployment is based on work center Zebra tablets with bar coding OCR embedded.

The Cycle Count app was created to allow associates from the office to participate in the annual Physical Inventory using their company phones. Michelman will also demonstrate mobile apps in process: Purchase Order Receipts and Picking/Shipping as well as opportunities to streamline master data and customer onboarding.
