Continue in Guatemala and Dominican Republic In March, a 20-person OBOV mission team, in partnership with Hope & Health Project ("HHP") and VOSH Southeast, journeyed to Jarabacoa (DR). Lead by Dr. Jose Colon of HHP and Dr. Erica Smithberger, the team performed daily medical, dental and vision clinics for hundreds of patients. This partnership also delivered medicines, medical supplies, glasses and opthalmic medicines to local area clinics for use year-round. In Guatemala, OBOV partnered with local medical, dental and vision professionals to offer clinics at five different locations, serving over 600 patients throughout the week. Glasses were donated to a local ministry to be used for the remainder of the year as well. In Haiti, OBOV continues to send shipments of donated medicines, medical supplies and equipment to our partner Dr. Roosvelt Romelus who serves many impoverished areas of the country including Arcahaie. Amid Widespread Violence local optometrists and doctors, helped establish Point Optic Clinic in Arcahaie, Haiti in 2021. Since that time, OBOV's Isaiah Lapointe has treated hundreds of patients who otherwise would have no resource for eye care. The original home of the clinic was in a rented facility. This Summer. with gang violence on the rise, OBOV helped Isaiah build and relocate to a permanent, more secure home for the clinic! Treatment of patients continued throughout the transition and the new clinic location is working well.
