The leaders, volunteers and supporters of One Ball One Village are following God's call to reach the "least of these" with clean water and the Good News of Jesus Christ. On the pages that follow, you will see images and stories of the miracles in which God has allowed us to play a small part over the past year.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. One Ball One Village is so thankful to have such an amazing team of volunteers, in-country partners and donors who are all working together to answer God's call. Here are just a few of the highlights from the past year: 1. In-Country Leadership. OBOV is an all-volunteer organization and we simply could not accomplish God's calling without the diligent leadership of Makendy Paul, Isaiah Lapointe and Loubert Turenne in Haiti, David Albizures in Guatemala and Arinoel Castellano and Alex Arencivia in Cuba. Our ministry is expanding quickly in Haiti, Guatemala and Cuba because of these selfless men of God. 2. 140 Total Water Systems Deployed in 10 Countries.

Contaminated water is the #1 health problem in the world.

In just six years, God has allowed us to impact the lives of thousands of people with the gift of clean water, coupled with the living water of Jesus Christ.

3. Expansion in Guatemala. 2017 saw OBOV's largest mission team-ever (20 team members) journey to Guatemala with 15 water systems and expand upon our already strong relationships in this impoverished central American nation! We now have 25 water systems deployed in Guatemala!

4. Sustainability and Logistics. 140 water systems in service means that OBOV's first job each year is water system maintenance. Through our partners and shipping channels, OBOV's supply chain has greatly improved in 2017.

5. In-Country Partnerships. From the Church of God denomination in Guatemala to Love the Nations in Puerto Rico, 2017 was a year of expanding partnerships for both spreading the Gospel as well as identifying new clean water projects and needs.

6. Ministry Growth into Puerto Rico. Following Hurricane Maria, OBOV installed 8 solar-powered water systems at churches in communities struggling with a lack of access to clean water.

As you will witness on the pages that follow, every water system that is installed/maintained and every team that travels represents a chance for OBOV members to share their faith in Christ. Our primary focus when installing water purification systems is that the living water of Jesus Christ be shared when the clean water is being distributed.

Why Water?

Contaminated water is the #1 health problem in the world.

Poor populations in developing countries like Tanzania, Haiti, Guatemala and Cuba struggle to ďŹ nd water each day to survive. Many are forced to drink from water sources where life threatening bacteria like E Coli, Cholera and Typhoid are present.

Our Solution

Each water system deploys technology readily available in the United States and consists of 4-stage, sub-micron ďŹ ltration which physically removes harmful bacteria from drinking water.

This is the water system at the public hospital in Mirogoane, Haiti installed in the months following Hurricane Matthew. This water system produces 200,000 gallons of clean water per month for the hospital and surrounding community (April).

Titayen is a permanent home to thousands of original refugees from the 2010 earthquake and this is the community's one clean water source (July). This water system processed nearly 1 million gallons of clean water in its ďŹ rst 6 months in operation!

Sharing God's Love: Sustainability and Logistics OBOV's supply chain begins with the purchase and inventory of water system parts and filters from suppliers in the Southeast.

Because there is no "mail service" in Haiti, our supplies for maintenance and filter changes are delivered on container ships or through Missionary Flights, a non-profit based in Ft. Pierce, FL. Supplies are then stored in OBOV's Haiti warehouse awaiting deployment throughout the year.

Two other logistical challenges each year for OBOV are (1) mission trip preparation and (2) in-country transportation. Each mission team carries with it hundreds of pounds of water systems, gear, evangelism materials, etc.

In 2017, God initiated a new ministry through the partnership of OBOV and Pastor Jean Claude Thes of Grace Baptist Tabernacle Church Church in Cavillion (Les Cayes), Haiti.

OBOV installed water systems at a number of hospitals following Hurricane Matthew in late 2016-early 2017. At each location, patients are now treated with clean water and each community has a clean water source for its daily drinking water needs.

Pastor Thes and his church members lead a regular outreach ministry to the hospitalized in the Les Cayes area. OBOV has begun supplying Pastor Thes' team with hygiene kits to share with hospital patients who receive nothing upon entering the hospital. Of course, this is also a great opportunity for the patients to receive the hope of Christ in 15 their lives.

OBOV's newest partnership is in Puerto Rico with Joseph and Daisy Pardo and Love the Nations, the only crisis pregnancy center on the island.

Mission Spotlight: Guatemala

OBOV traveled to Guatemala this year with 20 people, our largest team ever! The team installed 6 water purifications systems and hosted Vacation Bible School (VBS) for 525 children and 190 moms. Within the team, 9 members were 21 and under. The Youth Team did a great job sharing God's love with the children and moms of Guatemala by performing powerful dramas.

OBOV currently has 25 water purification systems in Guatemala with a total of 15 planned for installment in 2018 On this page: Natalia is having a blast loving up on the beautiful children of Guatemala. Natalia, who speaks fluent Spanish, did a great job stepping in when our 18 head translator became sick.

Mission Spotlight: Haiti

OBOV mission teams made 3 trips to Haiti in 2017. The April team spent the majority of its time visiting hospital and school sites in the southwestern portion of the country where OBOV's Isaiah Lapointe installed water systems following Hurricane Matthew's devastation. The team also surveyed numerous sites in advance of the July trip.

ON THIS PAGE: The July mission team completed a special project insulating the roof deck for Principals Makendy and Reginald Paul at the Coupon Christian School of Papi Joe. The heat from a tin roof makes learning diďŹƒcult and the insulation made a 20 degree dierence in the inside temperature! OBOV has supported this little school, now home to over 200 students, since it's opening 4 years ago.

Disaster Relief: Puerto Rico In late November, OBOV sent a 5-person mission team to Puerto Rico which was still suering with a lack of access to clean water two months after Hurricane Maria.

In total, 8 water systems were deployed at churches all over the island who are serving a distribution points for clean water in each community.

4th Annual Haiti Summer Village Soccer Tournament

One of the highlights of the year is the annual Haiti Village Soccer Tournament, with 2017 being its 4th year. Spirited men's and women's teams from 8 rural villages outside Croix Des Bouquets compete in the month-long event each summer which culminates in championship matches which coincide with the summer OBOV mission trip.

This year's women's ďŹ nals was a big hit with nearly 1,000 in attendance to witness Coupon defeat neighboring village Guedon in penalty kicks.

In the men's ďŹ nals, the village of Roche Blanche defeated rival Coupon, both past champions of the event.

Soccer truly is the international language spoken everywhere in the world and is the "Ball" in One Ball One Village.

Throughout each year, OBOV mission teams use soccer to build community and spread the Gospel in each country we visit. For a number of years, we have used The Mission Ball, a special soccer ball which includes the message of the Gospel printed on each ball in the native language of the country we are visiting.

Presenting The Mission Ball to a pastor partnering with OBOV, whether in Guatemala, Haiti or Puerto Rico is always a special occasion and leaves a lasting impact on the mission team.

Mission Spotlight: Cuba Through our partnership with Bay Hope Church, OBOV supplied four water systems to the Young Adults mission team that traveled to the Guantanamo area of Cuba in August, 2017. One Ball One Village now maintains 19 water systems which supply clean water to the people of eastern Cuba living in very poor conditions.

Wedding Bells!

One of the highlights of 2017 was the wedding of OBOV's Makendy Paul to his beautiful bride Ruth Antoine. The ceremony took place in August with 500 people in attendance! We are very proud of the newlyweds and pray for God's blessings on their new family!
