Our Mission in Pictures

The leaders, volunteers and supporters of One Ball One Village are following God's call to reach the "least of these" with clean water and the Good News of Jesus Christ. On the pages that follow, you will see images and stories of the miracles in which God has allowed us to play a small part over the past year. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

This is the community water distribution point at the Black and White for Jesus Children's Home in Lilavois, Haiti. The sign reads, "Free Drinking Water. 'Jesus said but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:14

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ " Matthew 25: 34-40 OBOV LEADERSHIP

O

ne Ball One Village is so thankful to have such an amazing team of volunteers, in-country partners and donors who are all working together to answer God's call. Here are just a few of the highlights from the past year:

1. In-Country Leadership. OBOV is an all-volunteer organization and we simply could not accomplish God's calling without the diligent leadership of the men pictured to the left. Our ministry is expanding quickly in Haiti, Guatemala and Cuba because of these selfless men of God. 2. 94 Water Systems. Contaminated water is the #1 health problem in the world. In just five short years, God has allowed us to impact the lives of thousands of people with the gift of clean water, coupled with the living water of Jesus Christ.

Left: Isaiah Lapointe in Haiti. Below: Alex Arencivia and Arinoel Castellano in Cuba.

3. Expansion in Guatemala. 2016 saw OBOV's largest mission team-ever journey to Guatemala and expand upon our already strong relationships in this impoverished central American nation. 4. Sustainability and Logistics. Nearly 100 water systems in service means that OBOV's first job each year is water system maintenance. Through our partners and shipping channels, OBOV's supply chain has greatly improved in 2016. 5. In-Country Partnerships. From the Church of God denomination in Guatemala to LOHADA in Tanzania to Schools for Haiti, 2016 was a year of expanding partnerships for both spreading the Gospel as well as identifying new clean water projects and needs. 6. Ministry Growth into Cuba. OBOV teamed up with the Young Adults ministry of Bay Hope Church in 2016 and is now providing clean water and Living Water at 13 churches in eastern Cuba. 7. Spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. As you will witness on the pages that follow, every water system that is installed/maintained and every team that travels represents a chance for OBOV members to share their faith in Christ. Our primary focus when installing water purification systems is that the living water of Jesus Christ be shared when the clean water is being distributed.

Sharing God's Love: New Water System Installations Why Water?

Contaminated water is the #1 health problem in the world. Poor populations in developing countries like Tanzania, Haiti, Guatemala and Cuba struggle to ďŹ nd water each day to survive. Many are forced to drink from water sources where life threatening bacteria like E Coli, Cholera and Typhoid are present.

Our Solution

Each water system deploys technology readily available in the United States and consists of 4-stage, sub-micron ďŹ ltration which physically removes harmful bacteria from drinking water.

Laurie, Bazelais, Alexandre and Pastor Gaunick complete the new water system at the Love Orphanage, Duval Roche, Haiti (August)

OBOV's Isaiah at the One Vision Orphanage in Arcahaie, Haiti. This system serves 4,000 people in the surrounding community.

In the past 5 years, One Ball One Village has completed... 94 water projects in...

8 countries, collectively processing over... 2.5 million gallons of clean water per month!

In September, Toby installed a new submersible pump, water system and new clean water storage tank with OBOV partners, Schools for Haiti and Grace Family Church 2 (Tampa) in Arcahaie, Haiti (September).

Pastors Frank Terry Abreu and Roxana Imbert with the new water system installed at the far eastern tip of Cuba at Maisi Methodist Church by Arinoel and Alex following the devastation of Hurricane Matthew (December).

Jon, Arinoel, Felicia, Jessica, Tyler and Juan in the impoverished town of Imias, Cuba (August). Pastor Julio Rodriguez is now able to distribute clean water to his community.

4

Pastor Hilaire, David, Gary and Pastor Gaunick discuss the new water system in rural Bruen, Haiti which is providing over 100,000 gallons of clean water per month to a population of 4,000.

Makendy and Ekip Dlo Lavi...the "Living Water Team" installs a water system at an orphanage in remote Lascahobas, Haiti in August.

Pastor Manuel Vasquez, along with his wife and daughter, enjoying clean water for the ďŹ rst time at the Mount of Olives Church in Guatemala, an ICM partner church. David Albizures installed this system in October.

Sharing God's Love: Sustainability and Logistics

Sub-micron ďŹ lter changes are the key to sustainability.

Toby prepares and packs water systems and soccer gear in barrels to be sent to Haiti on a container ship in the wake of Hurricane Matthew (October).

6

The water meter in Lisiere, Haiti shows that over 3.3 million gallons of clean water have been processed in 24 months!

Alex changes the filters at El Salvador Methodist Church in Guantanamo, Cuba in October.

Filter change at Mephiboscheth Orphanage for physically and mentally disabled children, Tabarre, Haiti.

Makendy receives replacement water system filters in Haiti via Missionary Flights International.

Isaiah changing filters at Du Bonhuer Primary School in Arcahaie, Haiti in September.

In 2016, we innovated with the addition of "sand trap" prefilters in several locations to treat extremely turbid water.

With over 90 water systems in operation, a growing portion of the One Ball One Village water ministry is sustainability. The logistical challenges of supplying replacement filters and parts for troubleshooting and maintaining these systems grows each year and your support enables us to ensure that each water system remains a blessing year after year.

PVC pipe and parts, tools, supplies, cell phones, etc., are shipped regularly to Haiti via Missionary Flights.

OBOV provided colorfully illustrated Children's Storybook Bibles (translated into Haitian Creole) for the 150+ children at the Community Christian School of Coupon (September).

The April men's team installed 10 water systems and also constructed this shade pavilion at Ebenezer Schooland Orphanage for Pastor Claude Mondesir in La Tremblay, Haiti. After completion, Pastor Claude told the team that the children had no place to hold their morning prayers and devotions. God took the simple idea to create shade and turned it into a small church!

This sign is painted above the water distribution point outside the walls of the hospital in Arcahaie, Haiti. The headline reads: Our Mission: Clean Water. Living Water. John 4: 13-14 "Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." 11

The entire OBOV team is praying over Pastor Amilcar Brizuela and his wife at Shaloom Assembly of God Church.

At every VBS, the gospel is presented using an easy to remember "color bead" bracelet. A bracelet is then given to every child as a gift. We ask some of the children to recite the message they learned using their bracelet. This is a girl at Shaloom Assembly of God church reciting the gospel perfectly! All the gospel bracelets were made by incarcerated girls that we work with at Central Pasco Girls Academy!

When possible, we like to show 'The Jesus Film' to everyone we meet. The film has been translated in over 1,000 languages worldwide. We show the film in their native language, which is a special treat in many 3rd world countries who don't ever get to see movies! Here it is being shown to the congregation of Shaloom Assembly of God.

Sharing God's Love: Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Matthew Devastates Haiti and Cuba. With God's Guidance, OBOV Responds On October 4, Hurricane Matthew ripped through Haiti, destroying the landscape of Haiti's southern peninsula leaving over 1,000 dead. The death toll continued to escalate as the threat of cholera became a reality due to the lack of clean water. Braving the diďŹƒculties of traveling to this area, OBOV's Isaiah Lapointe surveyed where and how we could best respond. Partnering with disaster relief organization, Mission Possible (Dallas), OBOV provided clean water for 1,000's impacted. Similarly in eastern Cuba, OBOV's Arinoel and Alex traveled through harsh conditions, sometimes by foot, to devastated areas of Cuba to bring clean water to those desperately in need. God gave us the direction, protection, and willing servants to answer the need and prayers of 1,000's with clean water. Praise the Lord!

22

Mission Spotlight: Raranya, Tanzania

The students of the new Leader School in Raranya are so excited to have their very own school!

Since it's founding, OBOV has supported the remote village of Raranya, Tanzania. Our work in Raranya is the reason our organization is named "One Ball One Village." With the simple gift of soccer balls, God enabled our dear friend and partner Pastor Timothy Wambura to develop a relationship with a local tribe in this region who had never before heard the name of Jesus Christ. After developing a relationship with this tribe, Pastor Timothy was able to share the gospel with them. Praise God, many in Raranya are now followers of Jesus Christ and now attend the church that OBOV helped Pastor Wambura establish! For centuries, the women and children in this region had been walking over 5 miles each way to fetch water for their daily needs. And the only water source was a muddy hole bubbling up from the ground. Praise God the OBOV water station in Raranya is now serving over 5,000 people in this region! In addition to providing water and a place of worship, OBOV supporters have also helped Pastor Timothy construct a school that now educates over 100 students!
