Description
‘Block D’ is a residential block with 455 bedrooms, ranging from 6 to 10 storeys and ‘Block E’ has 409 bedrooms, ranging from 5 to 7 storeys, along with a multi-purpose two storey ‘Fulcrum’ building housing an auditorium, restaurant, retail, gym, meeting rooms and offices. The project also includes a 5 storey residential block containing 60 studio apartments. The overriding major success for this project was that it provided just under 1000 beds in time for the start of the university year.




It was reassuring to engage and work with such an experienced and confident main contractor. JJ Rhatigan’s reputation for construction excellence was backed up with the delivery of this demanding and complex build with an equally demanding programme. The level of collaboration and partnership achieved with JJ Rhatigan was truly unique and meant that throughout the project there was open dialogue and review, resulting in bespoke considered solutions, ultimately providing both Dublin City Council and ourselves with the optimum outcome”
