The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

To Mr. Patrick E. Wallace, Sr.-my A-1 Superman, You gave me a once-in-a-lifetime love. For fifty-three years we shared adventures, and I’m so grateful you held on for me, Sugg I will always love you, my Soldier Boy. You were an awesome act: Husband-beyond measure. Father-family first. Grandfather-by example. Great-grandfather-to the task. Uncle-may you always soar.
We say goodbye only to meet again. You never lost your zeal; time with you was everything to me. To know a love where someone can finish your sentences, out-spell you, sneak your hidden treats, and still call you Angel and Baby every day-no matter how you looked-is a gift beyond words. The adventures we had-day trips playing tourists, gussied-up events, museums and concerts, flea markets and early breakfasts-we did everything together. You pushed me to be my best: always encouraging, ready to catch me if I fell, and the first to cel ebrate my victories. And oh, the surprises-a house, a plane, a car-you just never knew! Thank you for never letting me walk alone. Even in illness, you were still my protector. I wanted for nothing, and your legacy to this family speaks volumes. You are forever loved, my dear Prince. You will always have my heart and my love, always. Thank you for our strong, beautiful children and for the bonds that bind us.
-Your Wife, Bettye
Your sensitivity of other people’s feelings makes you to me attractive and very appealing. Quiet deeds of kindness with soft words that bless are traits I love in you which very few possess. My crowning honor and the pride of my life to be called your husband and to call you my wife.
Dad you know we’ll miss you more Than any words could say
But we know that you’re with us
Each minute of the day
That’s because we carry you
Within our mind and heart
Our love keeps us together Death cannot make us part
You’re living here within us
With every selfless deed
Like when we show compassion
Or help a friend in need
Your spirit’s shining through us
Each time we rise above And when we take a moment
To show our strength with love
Those days we act with honor Or share a joyful smile
We remind the world that you Have been here the whole while
Thank you for your legacy
For all you chose to do
We hope you know that we know
The best of us, is you
-Your Kids
To us, his name is Poppa. He was our quiet compass and everyday joy. He was a constant, dependable presence in our lives. Gracious and gentle-spirited, a charismatic storyteller, he met us with patience, warmth, and kindness, turning ordinary days into treasured memories. His love felt smooth and effortless-steady encouragement, small kindnesses, and wisdom spoken softly-so each of us felt seen and special. He taught us to show up, keep our word, and finish what we start. And when life got loud, Poppa would smile and say, “HOLD WHAT YOU GOT!”-a reminder to steady ourselves and stand firm. To us, he is a legend-not only special but cherished beyond measure-forever adored, and forever the standard of what love looks like in a family. We will miss him so much.
-From all of us, Your Grandchildren
I did not want to leave you
It was just my time to go
I know your heart is breaking
So, I need to let you know
That although you can no longer see me
I’ll be forever by your side I promise time will numb the pain And help dry the tears you’ve cried
You can reach me in your memories
Just think of me, I will be there
In your dreams, we can visit yesteryear
Where we didn’t have a care
Please carry on and live your life I beg of you to try
Just know we’ll meet again one day
As this is not goodbye
