Carson, Sr. was born to the late L.B. (Buddy) Carson and Artencie Scott Carson on March 5, 1941, in Sharon, Mississippi. Milous accepted Christ at an early age and grew up with strong family values that he carried through every season of his life.
He shared over 40 years of marriage with his late wife, Mary Dean Carson. To this union, two children were born, Milous Carson Jr. and Charise Carson.
Before retiring, Milous worked for over 20 years as an auto mechanic for the City of Chicago. He had a natural gift with cars and took pride in his work, but his greatest satisfaction came from the relationships he built along the way. Beyond his career, he found joy in fishing, shopping, and tending to his yard with care and precision.
His love for God was essential to Milous’ life. He served faithfully as an usher at New Hope Baptist Church, always greeting others with warmth and humility. He will forever be remembered by his calm patience, kind spirit, and the way his laughter would light up the room. His signature phrase when asked how he was doing, “I’m better than good”, now serves as a reminder of the optimism and strength he carried throughout life.
Milous Carson, Sr., transitioned from his earthly home on August 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Carson; his parents, L.B. and Artencie Carson; his sister, Ruth Carson Walker; two brothers, Caleb Carson and Rufus Carson; and one granddaughter, Shaquese Carson.
Milous leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Milous (Gwendolyn)
Carson Jr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Charise Carson of Kenosha, WI; one sister, Ozella Cain of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and two close friends David Starks and Charles Rivers.
