Mission Report 1 Mission Itinerary

Date (Mm/dd/year) Time Start Time End Schedule

11/17/2016 19:30 22:00 Meeting with National Vice Presidents and LOMs’ chapter presidents. 11/18/2016 12:00 22:00 Join JCI Cambodia Academy 11/19/2016 06:30 22:00 11/20/2016 08:30 18:30 Join the General Assembly to observe the election of NOM and LOM Board.

2 Achievements/Impact of Mission 2-1 We participated the 1st JCI Cambodia Academy from 18th to 29th in Kirirom resort. We met over 40 active members from LOM and all the past national presidents since 2011. It is so good for us to see the vitality and unity of JCI Cambodia. With two nights camping in the forest, our team had an unforgettable experience during the academy. 2-2 The General assembly was held on 20th in Kirirom resort too. Our team observe the biding and election of 2017 LOMs and NOM. JCI Cambodia has a very unique system of election. 3 Strength of NOM 3-1 There are many commit people in JCI Cambodia now. Although the venue is 3 hours far away from Phnom Penh, there were over 60 members joining and supporting this academy. 3-2 In JCI Cambodia’s election system only the NOM board members and LOM board members can have the vote right instead of all the members. It reflects the JCI Admin that the board members take the full responsibility to the next board.

Ongoing or Potential Problem of NOM

1 The operation of NOM may over depend on the support of LOMs. 2 The 2016 National Vice Presidents and two in three of the 2016 Local

Presidents don’t take the positions of 2017 National Board. The 2017

National Board doesn’t have the position of Executive Vice President.

The 2017 National Board seems a little unstable. 3 The venue of JCI Cambodia Academy is original resort located in forest. The inconvenience of life may influence the learning result of the participants and the environment in night there is a little bit danger for foreign participants.

Suggestions for Next Step Actions

1 Establish some committee for the function that is needed. 2 Keep connecting the members and see if there is any help they need.

Remarks

Since JCI Cambodia is going to graduate from APDC, this time is our last mission. For the first academy, JCI Cambodia really did a great job. The unique election system shows the reason why they make their organization keep running smoothly. Our team really has an unforgettable memory there. Thank you for all the friends in Cambodia and looking forward to your achievement in JCI.

Thailand and so on to join the mission in order to create more impact with similar culture background.

Remarks

Thanks for Mr. Teppei Urakami from JCI Kawasaki (Japan) to introduce main contact persons in Laos. Mr. Kit (Phanhpakit Onphanhdala) shows his impact to many young active citizens by organizing the “Let’s JCI” seminar we held in Vientiane. We shared what is JCI about and to our experience of JCI. We also exchanged many experience while we had lunch with potential members. We can observe that some members are interested to know more about JCI. We can see the potential opportunity in Laos, but we need to have more effort to introduce JCI to them in different ways and try to advise them to form the organization carefully. We are looking forward any support from our APDC team. We can take the advantage of similar culture to create more impact.
