Please refer to http://m.facebook.com/ jcitimorleste/. and also their activities are also being published in the local newspapers. During the inaugural ceremony the press & media were also present.
2-6 And more for this specific country: During our 4th mission, National president of JCI Timor-Leste has showed more engagement and allocated his full 3 days for our mission activities. We have seen more involvement from local members during the inaugural of JCI Timor Leste. We also seen more commitment from Local members in learning new things about day to day working of this organization. 3 Strength of NOM: The strength of JCI Dili is the commitment by both National and Local organization directors. They ask many questions as we make the presentation, shows strong interest in developing themselves and their community to be better. They also started recruiting new members, which is a very good start for building stronger and sustainable local organization. They also gained support and funding commitment for their future projects from the government and local business sector.
Ongoing or Potential Problem/Hurdles of NOM
One of the problems they are currently facing is the lack of funds to execute a local community project. Most of the members are University students, and there is a lack of huge financial contribution among local members.
Suggestions for Next Step Actions
(for the definition of Community Impact, Motivate, Invest, Collaborate & Connect, please refer to the 2014 – 2018 JCI Strategic Plan) 1 Community Impact: We plan to guide them precisely for their next project based on the current project plan composed by project director.
We plan more in advance so that JCI Timor-Leste is able to conduct project in our next mission. Bering onsite, we are able to guide them side by side in order to create stronger impact in the community. 2 Motivate: We have been preparing for us to hold JCI official training during our next mission. We have guided the members to create open jci.cc account so that they are able to register for the course. We also encouraged local members to become first trainer of JCI Timor-Leste. 3 Invest: Though it will be sponsored by APDC team, we will try convincing the members to make payments for the JCI official training in the next mission. This way, the members will be able to learn how to invest not only their time but also financially for developing themselves through JCI activities. 4 Collaborate: We will continue to guide them to maintain good relationship with the local government, and also seek for organization with similar vision. Our plan is to guide them to collaborate with other
NGOs to conduct project the first time. 5 Connect: We will guide them to maintain relationship with existing media contact person, and continue to seek for building new relationship with others. 6 And more for this specific country:
