DO JEWISH WITH US AT Join Us in Building a Vibrant Jewish Community!

The J plays a critical role in creating and fostering a thriving St. Louis Jewish community. Through the Jewish Life department, the J provides opportunities for community members of all ages, stages, and backgrounds to learn about Jewish traditions, values, and heritage and form lasting community bonds.

We offer a blend of educational, spiritual, immersive, and community building programs that cater to a variety of audiences from all walks of life. Our mission is to create meaningful Jewish experiences and lasting Jewish memories in a pluralistic environment.

Your support is critical to ensure the J remains the “Town Square” of the Jewish community. Join us as we create opportunities for the community to “Do Jewish at the J!”

Nishmah: The St. Louis Jewish Women’s Project offers an annual women’s retreat at Camp Sabra, bi-monthly salons (discussion groups on timely topics), book clubs, women’s mission to Israel, WINGO (Wine and Bingo) and more.

Sababa: Jewish Arts and Culture Festival celebrates the vibrancy of the St. Louis Jewish community at an outdoor bi-annual festival including Jewish art, music, dance, and food!

JNext is where recent empty nesters come together to celebrate Jewish holidays, do Jewish themed fun outings, and community service.

Songleader Boot Camp, a national conference, hosts hundreds of adults from St. Louis and across the US each year for an immersive, inspirational, and strategic Jewish leadership conference.

Israel Engagement

Israel Engagement at the J provides opportunities for our community to learn and connect with Israel, past and present. Our full time shaliach (Israeli Engagement Coordinator) fosters person to person connections and plans Israel education and engagement activities along with annual community wide programs such as Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration and Yom Hazikaron ceremony.

The J’s Family Center is a gateway for young families to access Jewish life through monthly Shabbat dinners, Jewish holiday celebrations, summer pool parties, concerts, parenting workshops and more.

The Hamsa Wellness Community provides education on hereditary cancer risks, especially for individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, who have an increased risk of carrying a hereditary cancer gene mutation. In addition, we offer support and wellness/ fitness programs for those facing any cancer diagnosis, especially individuals with breast and ovarian cancer, at any stage of their journey.

The St. Louis delegation to the JCC Maccabi Games® enables local Jewish teens to strengthen their Jewish identity, create Jewish friendships, and connect to others around the country by participating in this Olympic-style sporting competition.

The Garden of Eden at the J grows 5000 pounds of produce each year which is donated to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry to help provide food to needy families in our community.
