Pour son spectacle, Il faut partir maintenant, c’est dans une ambiance soignée, berçant le public d’une douce nostalgie qu’elle o re ses chansons, entourée de trois multi-instrumentistes. Ensemble, ils déploient son folk orchestral, entourant sa voix unique et ses textes, phares de son œuvre. Ici et là, elle raconte les histoires derrière ses chansons, révélant parfois un nouveau sens ou quelques secrets. Le tout se dépose dans une scénographie délicate et imaginée par Maude, pour vous.

Over the past few years, Maude Audet has travelled the roads of Quebec with her music, touching people with her sensitivity and warmth. For her show, Il faut partir maintenant, it is in a polished atmosphere, lulling the audience with songs that o er soft nostalgia, surrounded by three multi-instrumentalists. Together, they unfold her orchestral folk, circling around her unique voice and lyrics, which are the highlights of her work. Here and there, she shares the stories behind her songs, sometimes revealing a new meaning or a few secrets. The entire performance is set in a delicate scenography imagined by Maude, for you.

Fusion entre hip-hop, danse classique et contemporaine, Spectre (MD Company), est une création chorégraphique de David Milôme, dont voici le propos :

« Les messages redondants nous ont plongés devant ce Spectre de la Mort, entretiennent nos actions et réactions quotidiennes.

Nos habitudes et nos spontanéités ont été subitement fracturées.

Pour des avis ou des visions di érentes, des collègues, amis ou parfois membres de mêmes familles se sont déchirés.

Désormais, il n’y aura plus de grosses embrassades, de mains serrées chaleureusement….

Le Spectre de la Mort s’est invité dans nos lieux de travail, nos foyers… et a bouleversé nos comportements.

Dans ce spectacle, qui est également un hommage aux âmes disparues, nous danserons nos joies, nos peines, nos colères et, nos libertés bafouées par ces relents d’incertitudes. De la maîtrise à la perte de contrôle, il n’y a qu’un pas … »

Spectre sera en tournée dans le réseau des Alliances Françaises du Canada (Halifax, Moncton, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg).

Fusion between hip hop, classical, and contemporary dance, Spectre (MD Company) is a choreographic creation by David Milôme, whose words are:

“The redundant messages plunged us in front of this Spectre of Death, maintaining our daily actions and reactions.

Our habits and spontaneities have been suddenly fractured.

For di erent opinions or visions, colleagues, friends, or sometimes members of the same families have been torn apart.

From now on, there will be no more big hugs, no more warmly shaking hands...

The Spectre of Death has invited itself into our workplaces, our homes... and has upset our behaviour.

In this show, which is also a tribute to the departed souls, we will dance our joys, our sorrows, our angers, and our freedoms, scorned by these hints of uncertainty. From the control to the loss of control, there is only one step…”

Spectre will be touring the Alliance Française network in Canada (Halifax, Moncton, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg).

Imaginez le Louvre, qui attire aujourd’hui des visiteurs du monde entier, sous les illustres règnes d’Henri IV et de Louis XIV. Versailles n’était encore qu’un hameau et le siège des rois se trouvait au cœur de Paris, entre le murmure de la Seine et le grondement des faubourgs. La vie, le chant et la danse se concentraient au palais où chaque jour était rythmé par la musique la plus ra née et la plus exquise. D’une partition à l’autre, à partir d’œuvres de Cavalli et Lully et de chansons populaires tirées de son album primé, « Aux marches du Palais », Le poème harmonique raconte la fabuleuse histoire du palais le plus célèbre du monde.

Imagine the Louvre, which today attracts visitors from all over the world, during the illustrious reigns of Henry IV and Louis XIV. Versailles was still a hamlet and the seat of kings in the heart of Paris, between the murmur of the Seine and the roar of the suburbs. Life, song, and dance were prominent in the palace, where every day was punctuated by the most refined and exquisite music. From one score to the next, using works by Cavalli and Lully, as well as popular songs from its award-winning album, “Aux marches du Palais,” Le Poème harmonique tells the fabulous story of the world’s most famous palace.

Festival du film de l’Union Européenne (EUFF)

De retour pour sa 19ème édition, du 15 novembre au 1er décembre, le festival du film de l’Union Européenne (EUFF) o rira une nouvelle fois au public torontois le meilleur du cinéma des quatre coins de l’UE, proposant une gamme variée de films loués par la critique et primés en festival.

Les films sont accessibles gratuitement au théâtre Spadina, selon le principe du premier arrivé, premier servi. Un nombre limité de places sont toutefois disponibles à la vente pour ceux qui ne souhaitent pas faire la queue (réservation de $10 à faire en ligne).

Le festival renouvelle son partenariat avec l’Institut du Film à Ottawa, la Cinémathèque à Vancouver et la Délégation de l’UE au Canada pour rendre une nouvelle fois les films disponibles en ligne. Nous vous espérons nombreux pour ce voyage culturel à travers l’Europe en 27 films, ponctué de surprises et de rencontres avec des réalisateurs et acteurs !

European Union Film Festival (EUFF)

The EU Film Festival (EUFF) is back for its 19th edition, from November 15 to December 1, o ering audiences a chance to experience the best cinema from across the European Union. With a curated selection of award-winning and hidden gems of all genres, the festival showcases the rich diversity and creativity of European filmmaking.

There is free admission for the films at Spadina Theatre, available on a first-come, first served basis. A limited number of tickets (online $10 reservation) are available for purchase for those who want to secure their seats in advance.

This year, EUFF is also returning online in a second hybrid edition, in partnership with Ottawa’s Film Institute, The Cinematheque in Vancouver, and the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. Join us for a celebration of European cinema and Toronto’s thriving film community at the EU Film Festival, a cinematographic journey through Europe in 27 films for 27 member countries of the EU with post-film Q&As with directors, producers, and actors!

A light beam appears on the sidewalk. With hands cupped, the viewer catches the luminous dance solo and has plenty of time to contemplate it. The experience is intimate, the digital becomes tactile and exhilarating. A poetic installation unfolds in the palm of your hands. This is the installation Ready-to-Wear Solos, Fall and Summer Collection!

Each solo uses original camera work, an outside location with autumn colours, and shots that give the work an entirely new perspective. Reimagined for film, the choreographies and intense performances appear magically in our outstretched hands.

Souvent peu connues parce que ces films, à l’exception de ceux d’Abel Gance, sont tombés dans l’oubli, ces réalisations éphémères n’en demeurent pas moins parmi les plus réussies de l’Art Déco. Wishing to spread the new aesthetic more widely, painters and decorators were recruited very early on in France, as well as in Europe, to create sets for plays, ballets, and films; Paul Iribe, Georges Lepape, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Sonia Delaunay, Fernand Léger, and so many others, imagined interiors as modern as they were daring. Though often little is known about these creations due to films—with the exception of those of Abel Gance—having fallen into oblivion, these ephemeral works remain among some of the most successful of Art Deco.
