FORCE ONE #36

" UNREAL REALITY "

Good morning unreality!

This issue is special, because it marks the beginning of a new year of publication and the beginning of a new era, both exciting and worrying.

The cover of Force One, for the first time, is not a photo, it is not a drawing, in fact we don't even know what it is... We should ask someone smarter than us... someone capable of understanding things faster than us... a computer for example.

Welcome to the age of artificial intelligence, which creates images of celebrities without their knowledge, and writes articles commenting on these images… in seconds.

But luckily we are still able to enjoy real things, so go ahead and browse the - real - pages to discover Zheng Lu's art, Ziggy Chen's fashion, supercars, completely handmade watches...

So let's enjoy the new creations of artificial intelligence, but let's stick to reality ;-)

"IS IT YOU BRAD?"- BY JOANN - Cover Photo # 36

FAKING IT ;-) THE LAUGHABLE

(AND TERRIFYING) ERA OF A.I. - GENERATED CELEBRITIES

"Why bother with real celebrities when you can just make your own?"

10
11
HE Brad Pitt SHE Brad Pitt

Ladies and gentlemen, we have some breaking news: Brad Pitt is now a woman! Yes, you read that right. Thanks to the power of AIgenerated deep fake celebrities, we can now transform Hollywood's hottest hunks into stunning ladies, and vice versa. It's like Freaky Friday, but on steroids.

To illustrate this article, we're using the work of Joann, an artist specialized in AI graphics. In the artist’s latest projects, it gives us a glimpse of what our favorite stars would look like if they were in a Wes Anderson movie, and then flips their gender like a pancake. And let me tell you, the results are hilarious and terrifying at the same time. On the other hand, we have to wonder: what does this mean for our society? Are we just playing with fire?

But let's not get too serious here. After all, this is just a bit of fun, right? Who doesn't love a good gender swap ;-)? It's like watching your favorite stars play dress-up, with a twist… And the fact that we can do this with AI-generated deep fake celebrities just makes it all the more exciting.

Of course, there are some ethical concerns to consider. What if someone uses this technology to create fake videos of real people doing things they never did? What if they use it to ruin someone's reputation or privacy? These are valid questions that we need to address as a society.

But let's not forget that we can also use this technology for good, if we will be able to keep it as a tool for entertainment creativity. So, let's embrace the possibilities of AI-generated deep fake celebrities with a sense of humor and a healthy dose of skepticism. Let's marvel at the hilarity of seeing Elon Musk in a wig and a skirt, but also be aware of the implications of this technology. And let's not forget that we're using the work of an artist who has mastered the art of making us laugh and cringe at the same time.

In the end, the possibilities of technology are endless, and we're only scratching the surface. Who knows what kind of AI-generated deep fake celebrities we'll see next? Maybe we'll have virtual versions of ourselves that are better looking and more successful than the real thing without the need of painful cosmetic surgery.

Or maybe we'll just be living in a world of endless deception and manipulation. Either way, let's face it with humor, wit, and a little bit of panic. Because if there's one thing that's certain in this world, it's that technology is a laughing matter and a cause for concern at the same time.

THE ARTIST: JOANN

Joann is a Senior Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Yerevan, Armenia, specialized in digital media. With a passion for merging technology and art, the artist creates striking and imaginative works that challenge traditional boundaries.

Joann believes that the medium does not define the essence of an artist and that AI art is not a separate category from traditional forms of art. With a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a passion for underground fashion, the artist brings a unique vision to art. The artist believes that AI is not capable of producing truly original or innovative works without the influence of human creativity. Only by combining human vision and intuition with the computational power of AI can artists create truly unique and impactful works of art.

A CHINESE GIACOMETTI?

Before shouting lese majesté !, stop for a moment to look at Aurora Edge II, one of the sculptures that sculptor Zheng Lu presented at the HOFA Gallery in London. Perhaps you will find the courage to draw a parallel between the two artists.

My first encounter with Zheng Lu's sculpture was sipping a coffee in a hotel that is perhaps the most beautiful house in the bay of St Tropez. Indeed, in the sunny hall of this building, the table on which my cup was placed was dominated by a watery vortex of Chinese words (a poem, they explained to me later), carved into a highly polished steel structure over three meters long. Toi et Moi, this is the name of the sculpture, started from the floor towards the ceiling, made you literally lift up in the air pushed by the movement of the water and by the words of love, which I certainly couldn't read, but just as certainly I could understand.

And I know that this introduction cannot explain why I take the liberty of juxtaposing the name of Zheng Lu with that of the Swiss master, but once again I invite you to observe the sculptures of his London solo exhibition Liquid Narratives.

The search for the absolute is the point of contact between Zheng Lu and Giacometti. In seeking the absolute, both have achieved the essential by renouncing imitation and going beyond the limits of symbolic and figurative representation, with an artistic practice that has hinged on gesture and manipulation, on

18

concentration and the renunciation of the definitive form. In Giacometti's sculpture, raw metal, the seemingly shapeless lumps of matter coagulate along fundamental lines of force. This happens in the same way in the water lines of Zheng Lu's sculptures, in the words joined to form eddies and waves. Or in the highly polished metal (in this case at the antipodes of Giacometti) that drags anyone who stops to look at his works into the open sea.

Asian taste on the other hand, is different and exciting, adding sensitivity and lightness that transport us inside our soul with a decidedly lighter, poetic, reassuring spirit.

Zheng Lu's sculptures are characterized by their gravity-defying compositions and the theme of water and its transformation from fluidity to stillness spaces. His use of calligraphy and poetry, as well as his reference to traditional culture, adds sensitivity and lightness to his works, which transport the viewer inside their soul with a poetic and reassuring spirit. Through his sculptural practice, Zheng Lu explores complex concepts such as reflective mediums and the interconnection between humans and machines, nature and technology.

Zheng Lu's work has gained international recognition, with his sculptures exhibited in significant galleries and museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taiwan, Parkview Museum in Beijing, and Long Museum in Shanghai, China. His artistic language introduces a conceptual element within his structural compositions, propelling new interpretative possibilities. Overall, Zheng Lu's sculptures combine traditional sculptural techniques and cutting-edge technologies to explore complex themes and concepts, creating works that are both intellectually sophisticated and visually stunning.

HOFA GALLERY

House of Fine Art - HOFA seeks to explore beyond the creative constraints of the contemporary art world, demanding to challenge the conscious, stimulate the subconscious and amplify the voices of the underrepresented.

Our ongoing selection of emerging and established artists, who are sourced locally and internationally, effectively communicate their innovative techniques and experimentation through a range of multidisciplinary genres. Their works are a documentation of meticulous methodology and incitement of emotion, that allude to modern and conceptual subject matter.

HOFA’s philosophy essentially led to the birth of their gallery space, with the intention to activate the artist’s academia, concerned with the pursuit of research, experimentation and innovative interpretation and a space to stimulate the senses and conceptualise communal engagement. As of November, 2022, the gallery introduced 'HOFA DAO', a decentralised autonomous organisation that establishes a portfolio of investments associated with their exhibiting artists and their artworks.

In 2018 HOFA Gallery was the first art gallery in the world to make their entire collection available in cryptocurrency. Using new technologies and digital innovations, HOFA pledges an accessible entry point to the market and inclusivity to art collectors on all levels.

Founded in 2012, HOFA extends its environment beyond just an art gallery, merging collaboration with creatives, digital design and media, curating interactive events and summoning a platform for open discussion, debate and discovery. HOFA Gallery has provided government institutions, museums, art galleries and private collectors access to some of the most sought after and collectable works of contemporary art.

ZIGGY CHEN MASCULINE SINGULAR

Moving between his home town of Shanghai and the rest of the world researching materials, tradition, art and design, Ziggy Chen brings his own personal version of men's fashion to the Paris catwalks.

Breaking down and recomposing elements, transforming a linear and concise narrative into garments studied down to the finest detail. This is Ziggy Chen, multifaceted stylist and owner of the eponymous brand, who since 2013 has been managing not just a menswear brand, but a fully-fledged design project, where the soul of tradition meets the spirit of the contemporary, always on the cutting edge of creativity.

If “The Medium is the Message” as philosopher and sociologist McLuhan once said, then for Ziggy Chen the clothing is the medium. Since the very start, his stylistic language has focussed intensely on quality, simplified volumes, material research and original fabrics. Uncompromisingly subverting the rules, redefining

the futuristic panorama of a usable, yet sophisticated fashion, always straddling the old and the new.

This is his way of experimenting, going off the beaten track to punctuate his wardrobe with minimal, relaxed but bold figures, where the tangle of emotions encapsulated in the designer's soul finds its own space like a piece of a puzzle, confidently conveying the Chinese culture in which it is rooted, but with the cosmopolitan voice of he who has seen and knows the world.

This designer’s strength lies precisely in the research he dedicates to materials: wool, linen, leather, organic cotton and other elements coexisting in the structure of garments swathed in an intangible energy.

25

Raw juxtapositions clash in the softness of the figures; and precisely in the details the clothing takes on further meanings to lose ourselves in.

Each collection is a starting point, never a point of arrival, with its origin in his debut fall/winter 2013/14 collection.

Season after season, the designer continues the journey he interprets through his own personal language: from the glorious clothes that characterised seventeenth century Europe, to clothing styled on the workwear so close to the traditional clothes of his country, moving on to an intricate, universal style with its gaze firmly on the future.

While the exhibition entitled Chaos, organised in April 2021 in Shanghai, presented his most intimate universe, the latest Fall/winter 2023/24 collection

shown in January of this year at the Paris Fashion Week finds the designer intent on experimenting with raw cut, thrown together items, in a new chapter of his vision and philosophy that sees the suit as both object and connection between past and future, in constant evolution.

Viglumsy, the collection’s title, is a crasis of Vigorous and Clumsy that synthesises the essence of the suit redefined and embellished by new details and original techniques.

Innovation and the combination of linen, the designer’s favourite fabric, wool, cashmere and cotton, play on the distinct weights of the materials.

Velvet accents appear among the various items, while complex, surprising prints are always defined in shades borrowed from nature.

26
27

In themselves these creations, the perfect synthesis of versatility and pragmatism, combine distinct elements of nature, design, creativity and uniqueness.

In the words of Maurizio Vela, who’s always been Ziggy Chen’s agent and who for years has been exclusively promoting avant-garde, conceptual brands from Paris:

“In a universe as flat and homogenised as Prêt-à-porter, ruled by the desire to dress like the masses following the lines created by the big brands, there’s still a niche market of customers constantly in search of something truly unique and original.

The kind of cool people capable of ripping through convention and establishing themselves as icons who don’t follow style but create it. Artists, singers, even ordinary people with strong personalities who know how to express them; people like Keanu Reeves and Orlando Bloom, who’ve been Ziggy Chen customers for years are perfect examples.

My job, and that of my colleagues, is to be able to find and reach people like these, and the only way of doing that is to target and get into the best multi-brand stores that sell global excellence and are always in search of new creative brands. Right from the start, managing to get into international showcases like Dover Street Market, Selfridges and The Library in London, L' Eclaireur in Paris, Antonioli in Milan, IF B.que and Atelier New York, Tsum Moscow, Maxfield Los Angeles, Isetan Tokyo and Lane Crawford Hong Kong, to name but a few, meant that the Ziggy Chen brand could dress the best of the world’s niche customers, and its appearance at the Paris fashion week proves it’s currently considered the most creative Avant-Gardist brand in the world.”

Neutral colours, punctuated by classic shades like blue, red and green. A fusion of casual and sporty vibes for looks with a nod to the simplicity of a moment

A match of style between the unmissable appointments of Monaco, new ideas for the men’s and women’s wardrobe and classic references. If last year we saw fashion inspired by the champions of tennis who wrote the history of the sport, this spring the seasonal allure shifts to clothing intended as a uniform for every day: a subtle balance between style and sport for comfy outfits, but with intense attention to detail.

The aplomb of the Monte Carlo Masters, founded in 1897 and still one of the world’s most important tennis tournaments, lives on in long white pleated skirts recalling the sophisticated look of ‘sixties athletes, or in the short cotton ones with laceup waists. On the other hand, the men's wardrobe has loose-fitting trousers and linen Bermuda shorts for absolute comfort. The everyday wear includes practical and casual unisex piqué polo shirts, while sleeveless shirts or cream cardigans with classic stripes are worn open over the shoulders.

Outerwear ranges from parkas with mesh elements to anorak hoodies, with white leather sneakers coordinated with trapezoid hand or shoulder bags for an essential final touch.

EXCELLENT ENTANGLEMENTS

At the first Paris Fashion Week of the year, many luxury jewellery houses came to present their latest works of masterful goldsmithery studded with prodigious gems. Firmly set in the high-end segment, these creations have always been a niche devoted to excellence and savior-faire, which sees entanglements with numerous other creative universes. Those of high fashion and high jewellery have a particular creative affinity that loves going beyond the boundaries of the merely precious, toward an inclusive and sustainable future.

“Exceptional Stones” is the collection offered each year by Caroline Scheufele to present not only finished pieces, but gems still to be set for which the design is yet to be imagined. Alongside the purity, traceability and rarity of precious stones, the essential aspect of the collection its sustainability, thanks to the use of fairmined certified gold.

Francesca Amfitheatrof, creative director of Vuitton’s jewellery and watches department, adds an unprecedented chapter to the Spirit collection, which debuted in June 2022. The thirty sensational jewels presented at the Paris Haute Couture Week have a truly avant-garde design and stylistic language typical of the House, with pure geometry producing new forms created especially for the occasion, one in particular being the LV cut of the diamonds with a star pattern, which the brand has patented, and the profile of the letter V repeated ad infinitum like chevrons.

History of Style: Like a Queen Collection. Ring set with a Ceylon cushion cut sapphire of 6.00 ct, paved with diamonds, in white gold.

BOUCHERON

Every year at the end of January Boucheron presents a new chapter in its Histoire de Style through collections revisiting the icons of this Parisian Maison’s archives, as seen through creative director Claire Choisne’s contemporary vision. For the eighteen “Like a Queen” pieces, this year she drew inspiration from a diamond and aquamarine double-clip brooch, receive by Queen Elizabeth II in 1944 as a gift for her eighteenth birthday. Art Déco style is the real protagonist, expressed through an unprecedentedly actual and innovative creative impulse, including the possibility that its wearers could, certainly, be like queens, but could also, and why not indeed, like kings.

BUGATTI POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT BEAUTY

What makes a classic? The inherent quality of telling something new and relevant across time.

Add technology and the quest for speed, and you get a true classic car; nobody has interpreted this formula better than Ettore Bugatti, the Italian car genius of a family trio of creative masters, with the designer Carlo and the sculptor Rembrandt. Thus it should not come as a surprise that Bugattis regularly feature as top lots at auctions worldwide, where they trade well above the million mark. Like the mythical Phoenix, Bugatti has rebirth from its ashes twice, every time with a distinctive and incomparable combination of technical achievements and beautiful design:

- the beginnings under the founder Ettore Bugatti, and later his sons Jean and Roland, from 1909 to 1956;

- the Modena period under the direction of Romano Artioli, from 1987 to 1995;

- the last 25 years under the VW group, with the production of the Veyron model in 2005. There is no better way to narrate this fascinating and inspiring history of determination, technology, speed and aesthetic then presenting the iconic products: four cars of different periods and scopes, somehow representative of the 114 years since the foundation of the historical factory in Molsheim.

THE MOST SUCCESSFUL RACING MODEL EVER: TYPE 35

Introduced in 1924, the Bugatti Type 35 has won over 2.000 races in the following decade including 5 times the Targa Florio, the most challenging race of those times, and 4 times the Monaco GP.

A well-known exemplar of this car, a 1929 Bugatti Type 35C, raced to the 4th place in the 1929 Monaco GP and previously owned by the Baron George Philippe de Rothschild, preserved for 25 years in the Bart Rosman Collection, has been sold at auction by Artcurial in Paris in February 2023 for 2.2 million Euro.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DESIGN EVER: TYPE 57S ATALANTE

1930s Bugattis are not just fast cars: alongside the GP winners, Ettore’s son Jean developed a series of ‘racers for the road’, slightly less extreme in terms of performances but drivable on normal days. The eight-cylinder car was offered by the factor in five different configurations, of which the Atalante is the most prestigious, and the Sport models the most sought after.

This 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atalante ‘Howe’ is one of only 17 known; it has a particularly interesting story: it was first sold to Earl Howe, a noble race driver, then disappeared for decades to re-emerge in a garage in the UK where it was left abandoned, and sold by Bonhams at auction in Paris in 2009.

The studding bodywork makes this car one of the most elegant cars ever produced, well deserving the 3.4 million Euro paid in that sale as a ‘barn-find’ condition car.

Following an extensive restoration, the same chassis changed ownership again at auction in September 2020, in the debut sale in Europe for Gooding & Co. in Hampton Court near London, for almost 7.9 million £ (circa 10.4 m $): a significant increase due to the intervention, but also a testimony of the growth of the classic car market over the last decade.

ULTRA-RARE AND AHEAD OF ITS TIMES: EB112

The Italian brief period of production in the 1980-90s is usually represented by the extreme sport car EB110, a F1 for the road that had amongst its fans Michael Schumacher, currently trading above the 2 m Euro mark.

There is however an even rarer car: the Bugatti EB 112, a four seater - four doors saloon designed by the magic pen of Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign.

The style recalls directly the 1930s Bugatti 57S Atalante and the legendary 57SC Atlantic, the rarest Bugatti ever made, creating a directly link between generations.

The ‘all black’ car in these pictures is one of the rarest sight you can spot in Monaco; its originality includes a full set of Bugatti fitted luggage, and an umbrella adorned with a sculpture replica of the elephant conceived by Rembrandt Bugatti, used by his brother to add prestige to the Bugatti ‘Royale’, the most luxurious car of all times.

The forced end of production in 1995 left only 3 examples of this timeless classic, a comfortable car ‘for the family’ reaching 300km/h, a project very much ahead of its times, and a masterpiece of design for a millionaire connoisseur with deep pockets.

FASTER THAN EVER: CHIRON

Following the successes of image and speed of the previous model, the Veyron, Bugatti has surpassed itself with a car dedicated to the race champion Chiron

The fastest road car in the world has a top speed electronically limited to 380 km/h, with an incredibly powerful engine paired to a streamlined body that draws upon the centenary tradition of the brand.

MILLE MIGLIA THE RACING TEAM

OF THE HAUTE HORLOGERIE BRAND CONTINUES TO GROW AND BREAK DOWN BARRIERS

Richard Mille, has announced that Lilou Wadoux will be joining the Richard Mille Racing Team as a factory driver or the 2023 season.

This announcement comes after Lilou’s impressive performance in her first season in the European Le Mans Series, where she competed as an all-female team with Beitske Visser and Sophia Flörsch. Lilou is also set to become the youngest factory driver in Ferrari’s history, with whom she will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Richard Mille Racing Team was created in 2017 with the aim to promote drivers and provide them with the necessary support to succeed in this sport. As Amanda Mille, the CEO of Richard Mille, expressed: "Three years after the creation of the Richard Mille Racing Team, the marvelous work of the technical teams and drivers allowed us to achieve our objective. Lilou is only at the start of her career, but she is already writing a new page in the history of motor racing by joining Ferrari as an official driver in endurance."

The Richard Mille Racing Team has already achieved a great deal in promoting female drivers in the sport. In 2019, the team made history by becoming the first all-female team to finish in the top 10 at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The team has also competed in other high-profile races, including the Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours.

Richard Mille has been a long-time supporter of motorsports and has sponsored numerous events and drivers: the partnership with Ferrari and the involvement of legendary motorsport figures like Alain Prost, Charles Leclerc, Sebastien Loeb, and Fernando Alonso further underscores the brand's passion for the sport.

In conclusion, Lilou Wadoux's signing with Ferrari is an achievement that goes beyond just being a female driver breaking into a male-dominated sport. It represents the realization of a dream shared by the Richard Mille Racing Team and an affirmation of their philosophy that anything is possible with hard work and the right support.

ART & DINE IN MONTE CARLO

A unique one-of-a-kind art collaboration, La Table d’Antonio Salvatore has teamed up with modern artist Jacob Vilato, nephew of Cubist icon Pablo Picasso, to present a one-of-a-kind art illustration, inspired by an appreciation of fine food and fine art.

The collaboration is an invitation to discover the creative universe of the artist all while enjoying a one Michelin star gastronomic experience. The guests got their first taste on the collaboration on March 22nd, when Vilato realized a live show painting an artwork that will be auctioned for the profit of a charity foundation in Monaco.

Artistry runs through Jacob Vilató’s veins. Growing up in a family of world-famous painters, his childhood home was filled with paintings and drawings - providing a creative, culture-rich environment where he could

appreciate beauty, free from the confines of intellectual snobbery. Despite demonstrating artistic talent, he chose his own path as an architect for over 15 years, before venturing into furniture design. Realising his true passion lay in art and design, in 2018 he jumped into the abyss of his fears and left the world of architecture to devote himself fully to painting, sculpture and object design. In 2019, he revealed his art to the world when he was invited to participate in a charity auction for the Pope’s personal foundation. Vilató’s disappearance into work mode is what defines his art.

76

“I’m rather iconoclast. I don’t see myself as some god of painting - rather quite the opposite. When I see people are buying my paintings, I ask myself ‘what will happen with those paintings once I’m dead?’ For me, it’s very hard to place the existence of my works on a timescale. I never know if I belong to a generation or not, I don’t see myself in a group. Because I try not to copy or follow trends. So that somehow takes you out of time.”

To honor this collaboration, the chef Antonio Salvatore is delivering his guests’ new menu innovations. One of the latest additions, the Consistenze di Bresse , is a

rampoldi.mc/it/la-table-dantonio-salvatore jacobvilato.com

variation of chicken from Bresse with caramel sauce and…. This original dish has been imagined after Salvatore attended as Jury the historical French competition “Glorieuses de Bresse”.

"We are very excited to announce our artist-in-restaurant collaboration, with Jacob Vilato. Not only are we excited to enhance our guest experience, but we’re also thrilled to partner with this incredibly talented artist ” said Antonio Salvatore. “Collaborating with our favourite artists is a focal point in the culture we look to establish at our restaurant. We think it’s something that will really resonate with our diners.”

EYES ON THE FUTURE

HOW THE LUXURY FASHION SECTOR IS BECOMING PHYGITAL (AND MOVING INTO THE METAVERSE & WEB 3.0)

Phygital, a portmanteau combination of the words ‘physical’ and ‘digital’ blends the online and offline shopping experience and takes the best aspects from both. While it also provides a unique opportunity for fashion brands to enter the web 3.0 space.

Luxury brands have been introducing phygital fashion to their practices and shifting their focus on providing not only high-quality materials and design but to recreate their in-store luxury experience in the Metaverse.

With eyes to the future, in May 2023, the Metaverse Entertainment World Summit and Awards Show (MEWS) brings to Monaco an insightful conversation about the phygital movement and technology, tapping into the new luxury values taking over the industry, during an exclusive 3-day event at the One Monte-Carlo near the infamous Casino Square.

Celebrating the Metaverse, the MEWS Awards, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, honours the most outstanding talent, creators, and companies supported by our global Jury. This charity gala will take place at the prestigious Hermitage Hotel on May 4, bringing unpublished surprises about the Metaverse to which fashion personalities were invited.

The MEWS helps to bring attention to the enormous shifts in the Fashion Industry affecting directly its values, purpose and audience. In an era where unique design, attention to detail, durability, exclusivity and know-how

78 themews.world

become archaic when describing luxury values, a new focus on authenticity, sustainability, innovation, creativity and representation is being adopted by the Fashion industry. This has been vital for companies to remain relevant to their newest and, more demanding than ever buyers, Generation Y and Z.

These generations are quickly establishing themselves as the strong target audience representing a considerable portion of their revenues. Digital fashion already offered customers convenience through online shopping services, and usually highly flexible return options. From about 10-15% of overall sales being online in 2020, it is expected that by 2025 at least 25% of the luxury sales will be online, with 50% of the overall luxury market consisting of Gen Y and Gen Z buyers. Such numbers should increase as companies enable digital good purchases in the metaverse creating a secondary market profit.

This rapidly evolving industry has provided the perfect environment for new trends to burst. In the digital era, when everything is customizable, authenticity defines identity, and sustainability is truly taken into consideration, technology becomes the magic wand to install change as trends such as Online-Offline Integration, Sustainable Fashion, AI and VR, are revolutionizing the market.

Bringing the best of both worlds together, fashion companies are implementing an Online-Offline Integration ‘using Web 3 Blockchain & Metaverse technologies such as AI AR & VR, From phygital assets to interactive mirrors, in-store beacons, mobile apps and metaverse platforms to create a seamless hyperpersonal real-time co-created shopping experience across all channels’ (Prof. Paula Marie Kilgarriff, 2023).

In an interview conducted with Maria von Scheel-Plessen (Senior Marketing Executive), she gave insights on how fashion houses are dictating trends in the phygital movement: “While brands are focusing more and more

on omnichannel tactics, it is crucial to act and represent yourself as one brand to the consumer. This is why it is always recommended to think phygital and provide a physical touch to for example digital activations, offer tryons and virtual mirrors and improve the right mix with AI.”

Additionally, she disclosed her thoughts on the future of the industry regarding web 3.0 ‘The Metaverse is a gamification between brands and users, it's a new way of engaging while transitioning from web 2.0 to web 3.0. The digital environment offers real-time adaptation, a test and learns approach for collectibles and limited editions and the dressing of avatars, so it definitely has a lot of unused potential’ (Von Scheel-Plessen, Maria. Interview. Katharina Benjamim. March, 2023).

Companies such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Balenciaga, and Dior are leveraging the power of Metaverse in the future of loyalty and co-creation with its customer by creating fashion phygital NFTs offering an experience in both digital and physical worlds, simultaneously - opening space for fashion start-ups to explore this environment.

This is the case of Phygicode - a consortium and incubator focused on phygital methodologies founded by fashion executive and tech investor Andrea Abrams - presenting a PHYGICODE HERITAGE DRESS in collaboration with Camille Louise's Jewellery - a jewellery house led by Aline d'Ambricourt and Camille Merré, also consortium members at Phygicode, and known as one of the pioneers of Swiss jewellery NFTs.

“Phygicode Heritage Dress” is a one-of-a-kind phygital co-creation featuring an iconic fashion moment by worldrenowned fashion designer Rubin Singer, reimagined for the metaverse in collaboration with Decentraland studio and community members, DigiFun, and will be presented for the first time with a phygital jewelry collection. This presentation by Phygicode and Camille Louise Jewellery will showcase the power of technology to foster

collaboration between two designers from different generations, combining fashion and jewellery to represent timeless glamour and merging the physical and digital worlds.

From a sustainable perspective, approaching circular fashion, also tackled in this collaboration, phygital garments are considered apparel that is designed, produced and promoted to last and be reused in not one, but two worlds - physical and digital.

The phygital concept, when combined with the digital revolution, has the undeniable ‘potential to re-imagine fashion as a true ‘Force for Good’ for the planet and humankind’ (The Digital Fashion Group, Jan 2023).

Welcoming young talents and leaders of the fashion industry the MEWS creates the perfect environment for digital fashion creators to have an open conversation in a panel Moderated by Demi Karanikolaou, a Metaverse fashion expert who helps Brands navigate this new world.

The Forbes 30 Under 30 Artist Talia Zoref who has become known for creating Art during Fashion Weeks and who has also lent her brushstrokes to iconic brands and worked with companies such as Chanel, Fendi, Dior and MAC, will be returning to Monaco to join the MEWS for the second time. She is also the creator of the NFT project ‘Eyes of Fashion’, a collection of unique fashion illustrations whose public sale collection sold out in two minutes. The mission of Eyes of Fashion is Bridging fashion and art to Web3 while empowering women through education and innovation.

In conclusion, the fashion giants had an undeniable opportunity to acquire a new audience, providing a fast-paced shift to the market when the topic is Metaverse. Meaning that big fashion conglomerates, or renowned houses, would have to digitalize their presence, and incorporate digital innovation values into their DNA in order to continue relevant to their future customers.

This shift is preparing the way for new fashion houses to explore and reimagine the Metaverse.

The future of fashion retail will be heavily influenced by technology, sustainability, personalization, and ethical values. Retailers who can adapt to these trends and provide an exceptional shopping experience across all channels will be wellpositioned for success as we transition from Web2 to Web3 - and The Metaverse Entertainment World Summit & Awards Show is proud to showcase this revolution.

The Metaverse is a unique place that allows for decentralized 3D Social Media & eCommerce where the future holds numerous possibilities for creators, companies and the audience. Welcome to the creator economy where staking is the new following! Welcome to the Metaverse!
