DR. VIENNA ELEUTERI

Dr. Vienna Eleuteri is a prominent figure in anthropology and sustainability science, celebrated for her interdisciplinary methods that connect cultural studies with environmental sustainability. Her research examines the complex dynamics between human cultures and their environments, exploring how traditional practices converge with modern sustainability challenges. With a strong foundation in industrial ecology, Dr. Eleuteri analyzes how industries can be designed to replicate natural processes, enhance resource efficiency, and minimize waste. Her extensive fieldwork delves into indigenous knowledge systems and communitybased resource management strategies, offering insights into how traditional ecological wisdom can inform contemporary sustainability practices. Eleuteri promotes regulatory frameworks that support sustainable industrial practices, emphasizing the importance of recognizing local knowledge and cultural contexts. She collaborates with policymakers and communities to develop regulations that foster ecologically sustainable and socially equitable industries. Her participatory research approach ensures that communities have a voice in shaping regulations that impact their livelihoods.

DR. AMEER A. EWEIDA

Professor Ameer A. Eweida is Senior Advisor for the CEO of the Saudi Red Sea Authority on Environment, Sustainibility, Regenerative Approaches and Resilience. He is also a National Geographic Explorer, Pugh Coral Champion, and Rotary International Ambassador who has led global, regional, and national programs, teams, and offices with NEOM, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), United Nations Environment Programme, UN World Conservation Monitoring Center, USA Agency for International Development, the European Topic Centre, Mission Blue and the MENA Ocean Initiative in regions including the Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf, Great and Ningaloo Barrier Reefs in Australia, and the Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Eweida has over 30 years of broad-range and specialist experience in executive leadership and management, research and conservation, and policy development and application with a career focus to harness multi-disciplinary and cutting-edge science for planning, decision-support, and ecosystem-based management of socio-ecological systems. Dr. Eweida has wide experience in sustainability, resilience and regeneration science, marine and coastal ecology, conservation, and policy including marine and coral reef ecosystem ecology, restoration, climate change, marine spatial planning, blue economy, systematic conservation planning, and ecosystem-based management and adaptation, nature-based solutions, marine impact assessment, monitoring, marine protected areas, marine invasive species, and blue carbon management. He is the author of more than 70 scientific papers, book chapters, and technical reports that address these themes globally. He has worked extensively with International Conventions including the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, Convention on Biological Diversity, RAMSAR, CITES, and the IMO PSSA, UNCLOS, MARPOL, and Ballastwater.

HOW DO INFRASTRUCTURES PROJECTS CONTRIBUTE TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Joel Baret is a Civil Engineer with more than 25 years of expertise in the global PPP space, sector specialist in water resources, water network configurations and wastewater treatments, having a master’s degree in water environmental engineering from Strasbourg University in France. He has advised many governmental entities and sponsors from project identification to masterplan developments, project feasibility, preparation of PPP project tenders, and implementation of various infrastructure projects. Two flagship projects where he acted as the PPP Project Manager for the water sector include the AMAALA Project and the Red Sea Development Project, both located in Saudi Arabia. His core competencies are projects in Africa and the Middle East.

DR. KYLE SPIERS

Dr. Kyle Spiers has fifteen years of experience in international environmental management and consulting. His experience covers complex and diverse infrastructure engineering projects in various countries and as such he is fully converse in engaging with government bodies and private entities on matters of statutory permits and international requirements. Technically, Dr. Kyle Spiers has expert knowledge in the field of marine and coastal science. His extensive experience covers advising on management solutions in the marine environment, as well as assessing environmental impacts in relation to coastal processes, hydrodynamics, desalination outflows, dredging, polluted discharges and port, coastal and offshore developments.

The 4th edition of BUSINESS TALKS POP UP @ DUSSELDORF was hosted at Steigenberger Icon Park Hotel on Tuesday, 29th April 2025. It was the twentieth event since the project launched in 2021. A full day with keynote speeches given by qualified speakers and experts to an audience with 50+ selected guests.
