H eadw ay puts colour into W orkgroup Image Scanner w ith SCSI Interface.

A colour upgrade kit for the Fujitsu ScanPartner 10 SCSI image scanner is now available from Headway Technology. Designed to satisfy the demand for a low cost document imaging scanner for the small work group environment, the ScanPartner 10 with a throughput of ten A4 pages per minute, provides a perfect desktop solution for those applications which require scans of up to 500 documents per day. The addition of the colour kit means th a t users can now scan full 24 bit colour images, in three page mode.

The flat-bed scanner comes with an industry-standard SCSI-II interface which makes it widely compatible with workstations, high-end PCs, optical storage systems and other office peripherals, thus elim inating the need for an expensive proprietary controller board.

Supplied as standard, the 50-page automatic document feeder on the scanner accepts A4, letter and legal size documents,which together with its 10-page/min scan capability enables it to handle large volumes of documents with minimal operator intervention. With resolution set at 200 dpi, the ScanPartner 10 scans an A4 docum ent in 5.2secs. Image quality is heightened by the user’s ability to select resolutions from 100 to 300 dpi (in one percent steps) and the scanner being able to recognise 256 levels of grey scale, in addition to its colour capability. The ScanPartner 10 m easures a compact 160 x 560 x 345mm and weighs a lightweight 13.65kg. It is available as a stand-alone unit, or bundled with a num ber of optional document imaging software packages.

Competitively priced, ScanPartner 10 costs £1,550 and its colour upgrade kit is priced at £135.
