The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part XXXV

Summary of the president’s message

The Sunday Bible School on February 2nd, 2025 was held live, from the Communications Center of the Maranatha Christian Church, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros, Gilson Sousa and Josias Junior.

Message from pastor Gilson Sousa:

We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus!

We are starting the Sunday Bible School. The subject to be

presented is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies.

Question

Answered through video.

Reading Revelation, chapter 3, verses 1 to 3, identify 4 (four) deviations from God’s plan (er-

rors that defined the position of an unfaithful church), which were lived and taught by Christianity, and are identified in Sardis?

Answer:

• Abandoned the Holy Spirit- “..., that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead” –verse 1b;

• Lost the Mystery (hidden treasure) – “...for I have not found your works perfect before God.” – verse 2b;

• Lost the Word, the revelation. “Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast...” - verse 3a;

• Lost what was prophetic - “...if you will not watch...” - verse 3b.

“[...] I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.” Revelation 3:1b

“[...] for I have not found your works perfect before God.” Revelation 3:2b

“Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.” Revelation 3:3

Question

Answered through video

Reading Revelation, chapter 3, verse 6, compared to Revelation, chapter 19, verse 10, what characterizes the operation of the spirit of prophecy in the midst of the Faithful Church?

Answer: The spirit of prophecy acts in the midst of the Faithful Church, because the church begins to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. When there is action of the Holy Spirit in the life of the servant, they begins to live experiences that show that they Jesus is in their life.

“He who has na ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:6

“[...] For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Revelation 19:10c

Question

Answered through video

In Matthew, chapter 13, verse 44, considering that “...the treasure hidden in a field...” refers to the Word that a man found and hid, what are the elements that frame the Word?

Answer: Revelation and prophecy, because without them, the Word is worthless.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that filed.” Matthew 13:44

Message from pastor Gedelti Gueiros:

It is important to look at the position of the church that failed during that period. Let’s see what this means for God. How does the Holy Spirit see this church at that time?

“[...] I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.” Revelation 3:1b

Why did the Holy Spirit say that the church was dead, despite having a name that it had life? It was a church that spoke about Jesus, about God, but the point is that it was dead. Religion is like that: it talks all about God, but it’s dead because it doesn’t have life.

First Point: Abandoned the Holy Spirit

The name “Christian” would be a name of life, but she spoke of

a life she didn’t have. The prophecy for Thyatira (the time of the church before Pergamos) was: “whatever is born in her is dead”

“I will kill her children with death [...].” Revelation 2:23

Second Point: Have a name that you are alive

This church called itself Christ’s, but it lost the mystery. Mystery is part of the life of the church. The church without mystery is just a religion.

You have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Life ex-

presses itself dynamically. Not in the doldrums. You don’t put the lamp under the bushel.

“And He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?” Mark 4:21

The Holy Spirit is not given by measure, but has been poured out. A bushel is an instrument of measure. Some people want to put the operation of the Holy Spirit in human measure. You don’t take the lamp (the operation of the Holy Spirit) and put it under your bed, being comfortable.

Third Point: Lost the Revelation

The one who reveals all things is the Spirit of life who came from eternity to bring the Word to life. When the Holy Spirit is taken away, only the letter remains. That’s why Paul says:

“who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills but the Spirit

gives life.” II Corinthians 3:6

Why does the letter kill? Because you get caught up in stories, philosophy and theology. And that doesn’t matter for the life of the believer. The believer needs food for the soul. It’s the soul that’s on the path.

Fourth Point: Lost what is Prophetic.

Does this Christianity that is out there understand the moment we are living in? Why not? Because it doesn’t have what is prophetic. The reason is that there is no operation of the Holy Spirit. That’s why inventions have come along to replace the operation of the Holy Spirit.

What matters to us is each person’s experience with the Lord. From Sardis onwards, the church was revived. The great revivals came. Extraordinary men came, like Watchman Nee, in China, among others, in various places around the world.

The great revivals are over. Sardis was the remnant. We are the remnants.

May the Lord Bless us.
