The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part LX

Summary of the president’s message

The Sunday Bible School on August 10 was held live, directly from Mahanaim in Domingos Martins, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Josias Junior.

Message from pastor Gilson Sousa:

We greet all of the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting Sunday Bible School. The subject to be

presented is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates within the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our days, in preparation for the rapture of the Church.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions asked, as well as various experiences and testimonies.

Question

Answered through video contribution

Identify the prophetic relationship between Revelation,

chapter 3, verse 16, and Matthew, chapter 13, verse 48, regarding the operation of the Spirit of fear in the church of Laodicea.

Answer:

The prophetic relationship is in a church cast out of the body, just as bad fish are cast out of the basket. A church that has lost the fear of the Lord.

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:16.

“which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.” Matthew 13:48.

Question

Answered through video contribution

Reading Revelation, chapter 3, verse 20, identify the benefits of listening to the voice of the Lord in the following expressions and explain the prophetic meaning.

“... I will come in to him ...”

“... and dine with him ...”

“... and he with Me.”

Answer:

The Lord is present in the church that hears His voice;

The Lord's communion with the church;

The church's fellowship with the Lord.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20.

Message from Pastor Alexandre Gueiros:

I greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord. We are nearing the end of our study of the seven letters of Revelation. We have reached Philadelphia and are now studying Laodicea.

It is important to remember the advice that the Lord gives to the Church during this time which we are living. It is advice for the believers who are listening but not practicing the Word of God.

Some are lukewarm because they neglect to practice the Word, to live it, because they have grown cold in their faith. And thus, they have lost their fear of the Lord. In this last hour, the operation of the of the seven Spirits of God is that of fear of the Lord. There is a serious warning in the Word for those who are negligent.

Why are some people

negligent? We do not know, for certain, if it is the cause or the effect. By being neglectful, they are extinguishing the operation of the Holy Spirit by which we are sealed for the day of Redemption. They resisted the Holy Spirit; they became complacent and stagnant.

In Song of Solomon, the Word reads:

“I have taken off my robe; how

can I put it on again? I have washed my feet; how can I defile them?” Song of Solomon 5:3

It is the description of a church that has become complacent, that has already taken off its robes. In the book of Revelation, the Lord gives advice about ‘lukewarmness’, that is, about those whose hearts the fire of the Holy Spirit used to burn in. However, they began neglecting their responsibilities before God, stopped serving the Lord, and became lazy. Therefore, the fire of the Holy Spirit burned out, was extinguished. And the Lord says:

“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Revelation 3:18.

The solution for the poor (spiritually speaking) is this: buy gold refined by fire. Gold speaks to us of the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the power to live a life of vigilance and prayer, to walk in the Spirit, as a true servant of God, serving the brethren, praying, evangelizing, and doing the Work that the Lord has prepared.

It is the power to live a life of vigilance and prayer, to walk in the Spirit, as a true servant of God, serving the brethren, praying, evangelizing, and doing the Work that the Lord has prepared.

In Laodicea, the Lord is speaking to a church that has grown cold. Philadelphia had the warmth, the power of the Holy Spirit, the fire of the Holy

Spirit. In Philadelphia, the emphasis of the Holy Spirit's operation was “knowledge or revelation.” Laodicea, without the action of the Holy Spirit, becomes lukewarm. As a result, it lost many blessings resulting from the operation of the Holy Spirit. All the blessings that the Lord Jesus left for us

are transmitted by the Holy Spirit. Thus, without the Holy Spirit, we are deprived of the nourishment that is the living Word that comes down from heaven to give us life. Without the operation of the Holy Spirit, we will know the Bible simply as letters, without revelation. We fail to know the mysteries of God, for only the Holy Spirit can do that.

Therefore, at this time, the Lord is speaking to awaken those who are lukewarm. The Lord is speaking about those who have known the work of the Holy Spirit but have resisted the Spirit and, because of this, have become lukewarm. There are some who have not yet identified with the Work. These are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, and have accommodated themselves with the situation. They are not of the world, but neither are they identified with the Work. They do not want to serve or pray for their brethren. And the Lord says:

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:15-16

We are saddened, but not surprised, when someone loses fellowship with the body of Christ. And the Lord warns us because He loves sinners: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” We need to examine ourselves. What is my situation? What is my testimony? Have I been reached and touched by God’s grace? Am I spiritually clothed in the garments of salvation?

What is the Lord’s advice?

“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire...”

Revelation 3:18

Apostle Paul wrote: “...be filled with the Spirit...” Ephesians. 5:18. This means that we must continually fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit. “I want more of the Holy Spirit”.

The fire of the Holy Spirit cleanses us from all sin, enables us to overcome sin, and warms our hearts with the love of God.

If someone is lukewarm, they have lost their ‘first love’ of God (the love that they initially had for God). Therefore, they do not want to serve the Lord, they do not want to be a vessel in God's hands. What is the solution? Baptism with the Holy Spirit with fire. Fire lights the way so that we do not stray to the left or to the right.

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”

Isaiah 30:21

That is our need. Those who are not lukewarm need to be vigilant every day, seeking more of the Holy Spirit.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13

When the Lord advises us to buy this gold, this wealth is eternal. Who could afford to pay for this blessing of the Holy Spirit in us??

Isaiah lived 700 years before the Lord Jesus. The prophet Isaiah's words show that the Holy Spirit is the one who connects all things. In the Spirit, the Lord makes us understand what He has for our lives. How can we buy this gold? Isaiah gives us the answer. Salvation came at a very high price, but it is given to us freely.

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no Money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Isaiah 55:1.

The Lord is giving us something very valuable that we cannot afford. And the value lies in the sacrifice of the cross of Calvary. That sacrifice was very costly. Gold speaks of the power of God. Gold needs fire to be separated from all impurities. But we are talking here about the power of God and the fire of the Spirit of God. As we allow the Spirit to work in our lives, that power is refined. [Pastor Luiz Fernando Pitta].

In Smyrna, the Lord says: I know you are poor, but you are rich. We are poor, yet enriching many, living as if we have nothing, yet possessing everything. We have everything our soul needs. We have all the unfathomable riches of Christ.

In the parable of the hidden treasure, that man sold everything he had to acquire that treasure. And the Lord has opened our eyes to see how much wealth we have received from the Lord: the power of the blood of Jesus, faith, hope, eternal life, the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, what we want

most is for the Lord Jesus to dwell in us, “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. These riches are given by the Holy Spirit.

At the end of the letter to Laodicea, the Lord says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” This morning, the Lord is knocking at the door of our hearts. And we all want the Lord to enter our hearts. We must enjoy the full fellowship with Him, serving and worshiping our Lord God.

May the Lord bless us.

May the Lord bless us
