Summary of the president’s message
The Sunday Bible School on January 12th, 2025, was held live, directly from the Communications Center of the Maranatha Christian Church, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros, Gilson Sousa and Josias Junior.
Message from pastor Gilson Sousa:
We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting the Sunday Bi-
ble School. The subject to be presented is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.
Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies.

Reading Revelation, Chapter 3,
“Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden” (emphasis added)
verse 2a, what is the prophetic relationship between Sardis and Thyatira?
Answer: From then on, the Work would be carried out by the “rest”, those who didn’t mix with Thyatira.
“Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die [...].” Revelation 3:2
Message from pastor Gedelti Gueiros:
Question
We are moving on from the study of the letter to the church in Thyatira to the letter to the church in Sardis. Thyatira received a distorted teaching and absorbed it. Sardis begins with everything that came from Thyatira. It had the name of the one who was alive but dead.
“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.” (emphasis added)
It bore the name of Christ, but for Thyatira, Christ was dead. The Lord said he would not lay another burden.
At all times, there was a group that rose up, but it was no use. When the time of Thyatira came to an end, Martin Luther interrupted, through the Word, the action that had been taking place. The teaching in Thyatira was related to prostitution and idolatry. Martin Luther used four texts from the Bible to carry out the religious reformation of the 16th century. The theses referred to salvation by faith, the Bible as the rule of faith and practice, the universal priesthood of the believer and the Lord Jesus as the only mediator between God and man.
The same crisis that was established in Thyatira and restored in Sardis is being experienced right now. There is a people, in this last hour, whom the Lord has raised up and who are not satisfied with this Gospel that is being preached. The same argument used by Thyatira, philosophy and theology, has been used in our time. This is why we see churches being closed. Churches are splitting, especially abroad. There is a flood of people being led to another gospel.
The Church is now experiencing the same situation as Sardis. Back then, restoration was by the letter. But today, restoration is by the Revealed Word, by spiritual gifts, by the baptism with the Holy Spirit. This is what the Holy Spirit is doing. God’s mercy has been great towards us, because the Holy Spirit is in charge.
Something new is being pre-
pared by the Lord so that the church can go. This must be said with propriety, with the authority of the Holy Spirit. We are the remnant, like Sardis.
Comment from Pastor Edson Iahn
We are studying the migration of time from Thyatira to Sardis. We see in the Word that the Lord says: “And I gave her time to repent”. This time was almost a thousand years.
“And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.” Revelation 2:21
But the Lord also says that your last works are more than your first works.
“I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first” Revelation 2:19 This reference was because of the pre-reformers who were to come. In the 11th century, there were the Waldensians in Lyon, through Peter Valdo, who had the Bible translated into French. Later, we see Wycliffe in England. He was a professor at Oxford and began translating the Bible into English. John
Huss, in the 14th century, took the Word to Bohemia. He was persecuted and burned. At the Council of Constance, John Huss’ body was removed and thrown into the river. Jerome in Bohemia and Savonarola in Italy also comprised this group of pre-reformers. In Revelation 2:24 it says:
“Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden..” Revelation 2:24
Thyatira already had the rest. Thus, the pre-reformers were already being mentioned in the letter to Thyatira. And finally, on October 31st, 1517, Martin Luther laid down his theses in Wittenberg Cathedral.
