Question
Peace of the Lord, everyone. We’re going to stray a little from the subject we’ve been covering in recent Sunday Bible Schools. It is in our interest to address a few points regarding the message of December 1st, brought at the “Trumpets and Feasts” event. Some are having
difficulty understanding what was said about Jeremiah 48:6.
“Flee, save your lives! And be like the juniper* in the wilderness.”
Jeremiah 48:6
*Some versions may say date palm
Jeremiah, faced with the difficulties that existed at that time, makes a statement: “flee, save your lives! and be like a date palm in the desert.”
Some people’s concern about the text is whether it’s a date
palm or a tamarisk. In the original Hebrew Tanah, the translation is date palm.
The Tanah or Tanakh is an acronym used to name the main set of Jewish holy books. There are other translations in the Bible, but the Hebrew translation from the Tanah is date palm.
We need to be practical and objective. There is the word “tamarisk”, which is found in several translations. The tamarisk
is a shrub. But there is a difference between a tamarisk and a date palm. The tamarisk is a shrub that bears no fruit, like many who are living a fruitless life. But the date palm is different: it produces dates. It understands the palm tree that is written about in Psalm 92.
“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalms 92:12
The message “flee, save your lives!” is the result of those who practice the action of fleeing. You have to get out of the entanglement of this world, which has no value. When you leave the world, you enter what is prophetic. What matters is that you are in what is prophetic.
You have to live a prophetic life, taking refuge and dwelling in the secret place of the Most High.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the al-
