The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part XI
August 04, 2024
Summary of the President’s Message
The Sunday Bible School on August 4th, 2024 was held live, directly from the Domingos Martins Mahanaim, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros, Gilson Souza and Josias Junior.
Pastor Gilson Sousa’s Message:
We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus!
We are starting Sunday Bible School. The topic to be discussed is the book of Revelation:
the message of the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.
Pastor Gilson Souza presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies relating to Sunday School.
Pastor Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:
I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the questions posed.
We have been learning about the spirit of prophecy and how John used it to write the book of Revelation. This shows the writer’s commitment to absolute truth and the great project of the Church. Reading John’s description of Jesus’ first miracle in John, chapter 2, verses 1 to 11, cite three expressions that show he describes the history of the Church as a mystery?
Answer:
• Expression: “On the third day” - Mystery: After Jesus’ resurrection
• Expression: “They have no wine” - Mystery: departure from Pentecost - loss of the joy of the Holy Spirit
• Expression: “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me?” - Mystery: unfaithful church
• Expression: “the good wine” (first wine) - Mystery: outpouring of the Holy Spirit to prepare the church for evangelizing the world
• Expression: “the inferior” (second wine) - Mystery: outpouring of the Holy Spirit to prepa-
re the church for the rapture
• Expression: “the master of the feast” - Mystery: figure of the Holy Spirit
• Expression: “the bridegroom” - Mystery: figure of the Lord Jesus
“On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and [a]manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him..” John 2:1-11
We are studying the book of Revelation. In this book, there is a very important point for us, which is in the figure of John, the writer. No one could be in his place, as he was part of a fundamental and deep prophetic context. When John enters the mysteries, he already knew by revelation, he brings
the great mystery to the church.
The letter will soon disappear. The Bible, as a letter, will disappear. Only revelation will remain. But when that happens, a single verse, given by revelation, will be enough to sustain believers in this last hour.
We live in a moment in which the world is totally concerned with attacking the Word. In Ephesus, the great opposition was in relation to the Word. All kinds of arguments came to take away the value of the Word, of doctrine, because it is through the Word that God performs His Work. God does
His work through His Word. But this mystery is not for the world. Many think that the mystery is for the world, but it is for the church.
“And the disciples came and said to Him, ‘Why do You speak to them in parables?’ He answered and said to them, ‘Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.’” Matthew 13:10-11
When Jesus speaks these words, the disciples, at that moment, did not understand. Jesus was speaking to the Church. All the parables, all the signs of Jesus, would be for the Church.
So, when we open the book of Revelation and see the writings about the Lord Jesus, it is important to remember that John, at no time, fails to emphasize the Trinity.
“who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.” Revelation 1:2
John testified of the Word (the Father), of Jesus, the Son, and of all that he saw the Holy Spirit operate. Thus, at no time in the book did the Trinity cease to be present. The whole story of Revelation refers to the Trinity. And it is our responsibility to bring the revelation that is in the book. John had the Spirit of Prophecy. And the church also has the Spirit of Prophecy. If there is no Spirit of Prophecy, prophetic understanding of the book is not achieved. Therefore, John shows what is prophetic for the Church. How many years has Christianity read about the wedding at Cana? But, despite all this time, what was hidden was not reached.
John describes the history of the church at the wedding at Cana. The expression “on the third day” referred to the feast of Pentecost, to the outpouring
of the Holy Spirit. But soon the wine ran out. And it happened that the woman entered as if she were the owner of the story. But Jesus said: “My hour has not yet come.” The blessing of the Spirit does not belong to the unfaithful church. The work is of the Spirit. The owner of the feast is the Lord.
Jesus is in all the glorious titles of each of the letters of Revelation, as shown in the following table.
What happened in Ephesus continues to happen in all phases of the church. When writing the book of Revelation, John portrays his experience and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. If we observe the Gospel of John, we see John speaking of Jesus as the Son of God, the Lord of all things, the bread of life, the water of life, the way, among others. When he recounts the wedding at Cana, John shows the first wine, the feast of Pentecost. Here begins the mystery. Religion does not know the mystery. Without the mystery, there is no way to reach the soul of man. Through the senses, through the human side, there is no way to reach revelation. The prophetic does not come from reason,
but from revelation. At the wedding at Cana, we see the prophetic history of the church: a church that began and will end its journey in the same way: with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
There is a people being prepared to continue hearing the mysteries. The expression used at the wedding at Cana to show the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was wine. The first wine was for the church to evangelize, for the beginning of the journey. The last wine is in preparation for the departure. A group will continue drinking water because they do not know the mystery that is being revealed. But there is a people who are enjoying the last wine, the blessing of the Holy Spirit for departure.
May the Lord bless us.
