There’s something fierce and beautiful about this country. You feel it in the rhythm of the people, in the resilience of our communities, in the way we keep showing up for one another—despite it all. South Africa isn’t perfect, but it pulses with potential. And no one believed in that potential more than Nelson Mandela.
On Nelson Mandela Day, we remember Madiba not just for who he was—but for what he stood for: dignity, unity, service, hope. And while 67 minutes may seem small in the face of the world’s challenges, we know better. We know that in this country, small things matter. Sometimes, they’re everything.
You don’t need a headline-making gesture to honour Mandela’s legacy. You don’t need a camera crew, a charity gala, or a giant cheque. What you need is heart. Because to someone—someone quietly struggling in the background of your day—your act of kindness might not be a drop in the ocean. It might be the whole tide turning.
Cook for a neighbour. Clean a clinic. Sit with someone who’s lonely. Show a young person how to write a CV. Smile at a stranger who looks like they’ve forgotten how. Give 67 minutes not to impress, but to impact.
In a world that too often only celebrates the spectacular, we forget that real change is usually quiet. It’s consistent. And it often comes from those who expect no reward. Mandela knew that. He lived it.
Maybe you think your time won’t matter. Maybe you feel too small to shift anything. But remember: Mandela was once just one man in a prison cell. One voice. One soul. Look what he gave us. Imagine what we could give, together.
This Mandela Day, let your 67 minutes burn with purpose. Let them be an act of love for this wild, wounded, wonderful place we call home. And when the world forgets the value of small kindness, let us remind them—with our actions—that to someone, it could mean everything.
This is our country. This is our time. And 67 minutes? That’s just the beginning.
Nelson Mandela’s name is known across the world, not only for being South Africa’s first Black president, but for being a true symbol of hope, courage, and unity. His story reminds us that even in the darkest times, it’s possible to rise above hatred and division and lead with forgiveness, peace, and purpose.
Born in 1918 in the small village of Mvezo, Mandela grew up in a deeply divided country under apartheid – a system that separated people based on race. He spent 27 years in prison for standing up against that system. And yet, when he was finally released, he didn’t seek revenge. Instead, he chose peace. He believed that South Africa’s future could only be built on reconciliation.
As president from 1994 to 1999, Mandela worked tirelessly to unite the country. He encouraged all South Africans—no matter their background—to walk forward together. His leadership taught us that true strength lies not in power,
but in compassion and understanding.
Mandela’s legacy lives on today in the values he stood for: freedom, equality, justice, and education. He once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” That belief still drives change in South Africa and around the globe.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a concept reserved for tech companies or Silicon Valley visionaries—it's a powerful tool that's reshaping industries around the globe, and real estate is no exception. At Ingwe Property Group, we’ve seen firsthand how AI can transform the way we work, communicate, and grow—not by replacing our agents, but by empowering them.
The property world is changing. Today’s clients expect speed, precision, and creativity—and AI helps us deliver just that. Whether it’s producing compelling listing descriptions in seconds, generating fresh content ideas for social media, or analysing data to guide strategic marketing—AI has become part of our daily toolkit.
At Ingwe, we've embraced this shift boldly. Over the past year, we've woven AI into our core operations, allowing us to scale our content creation, refine our messaging, and create listings that are not just informative, but captivating.
Earlier this year, we hosted AI training sessions for our real estate agents—because we believe that innovation starts with education. The goal was simple: to break down the myths and fears surrounding AI and show our team how it can become their greatest asset.
Agents learned how to use AI to:
• Draft property descriptions that connect with potential buyers emotionally and visually.
• Generate content ideas tailored to their specific listing or area.
• Plan more effective campaigns by leveraging data-driven suggestions.
The real estate agent of the future is not someone who competes with AI—but someone who works alongside it. At Ingwe, we’re proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, showing that technology and human connection can coexist beautifully.
AI isn’t taking the heart out of real estate. It's enhancing it—helping us tell better stories, reach more people, and do what we do best: match people with homes that change their lives.
And this is only the beginning.
Every 18 July, South Africans and people around the world dedicate 67 minutes of their time to community service—one minute for every year Nelson Mandela fought for justice. But giving back doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful. Whether you have an hour to spare or just a pocket of time in your day, here are simple yet powerful ways to make your 67 minutes count.
Prepare sandwiches, cook a pot of soup, or pack lunchboxes and hand them out to those in need. You don’t need a formal organisation—just a warm heart and willing hands.
Grab gloves and garbage bags and spend your time picking up litter in a public space. It’s instant impact you can see—and your neighbours will appreciate it too.
Donate essentials like toiletries, sanitary products, baby supplies or non-perishables to a nearby women’s shelter, orphanage, or old age home. Even better—spend your time chatting, reading, or just listening to residents.
Are you good with numbers, tech, or resumes? Spend your 67 minutes helping someone build a CV, apply for jobs online, or navigate paperwork. Sharing knowledge can change a life.
Get the kids involved. Bake together for a cause. Write thank-you notes to healthcare workers. Craft cards for the elderly. Let them see the power of kindness in action.
Drop off coffee or lunch to a security guard, cleaner, or delivery driver in your area. Ask their name. Say thank you. The smallest acts of recognition can have the biggest emotional return.
Mandela Day isn’t about one-off gestures. It’s a reminder that small actions, taken consistently, ripple out. This year, don’t overthink it—just do something. Show up. Give back. Be the good.
67 minutes. Your time. Your way. Make it matter.
