Donald (Duck), it’s a thing... but is it? May… be, baby!

Maybe you need a little break. Maybe you could do with a bit of extra loving. Maybe you need a reset. Maybe it’s time to get on your bicycle and get your ducks in a row. Maybe we all just need a deep dive.

For me, this is what 2025 has been so far: taking a closer look, doing what I can – and must – to make the necessary corrections, and most of all, redeeming lost time.

Whilst I can’t change the past or create more time, I have chosen to learn from it.mChange is always on the horizon. And whilst it’s difficult to embrace the unknown, it’s important to accept that beyond fear and trepidation lie endless possibilities.

With that said, my Maycation is all about getting my ducks in a row and ruling out the maybes – pausing, doubling down on the non-negotiables, and leaning into what a thriving year should really look like. I’m choosing three things:

• Growth

• Self-development

• And a much-needed, proper holiday.

Whether you’re celebrating your mum, being a mum, a nurturer, a good old-fashioned hard worker, or a May baby – this is your month to reflect, grow, and adjust the sails of twenty20thrive. From my heart to your homes, offices, or remote workspaces, I’m wishing you the warmest, heartiest MAYCATION!

the backbone

Every Worker’s Day, we pause. We look around at the cities we live in, the offices we work in, the homes we rest in—and we remember something simple but powerful: none of this builds itself.

“Behind every finished wall, paved street, or bustling market is a network of workers making it happen”.

It’s easy to think of real estate as buildings and sales—but it’s much more than that. It’s the foundation of our economy and a cornerstone of community wellbeing. Real estate development boosts infrastructure, attracts investment, and generates employment at every level—skilled labor, architects, legal teams, finance officers, municipal workers, and more.

When a new residential complex goes up, it's not just an address on a map. It's a job site for construction teams. It’s paperwork for legal clerks. It’s business for landscapers, plumbers, and electricians. And it’s the beginning of a neighborhood: families moving in, corner shops opening up, local transport routes adjusting to connect it all. Real estate doesn't just grow the skyline—it grows it’s surroundings.

One of the things we celebrate on Worker’s Day is interdependence. No one profession works alone—and real estate is the perfect example.

Surveyors depend on data analysts. Construction crews depend on supply chain workers. Urban planners coordinate with environmental scientists. Interior designers team up with artisans and manufacturers. The list goes on.

That harmony is what makes cities livable, towns functional, and homes personal. It’s the quiet collaboration behind every corner of your life, from the route you drive to work to the spot you pick for your morning coffee.

REAL ESTATE & THE ECONOMY: A TWO-WAY STREET

The real estate industry contributes massively to national GDPs around the world—and not just through sales. It’s a job generator and a wealth multiplier. Property taxes fund public services. Development drives tourism and commercial activity. A thriving real estate sector reflects and reinforces a healthy economy.

And when times get tough? The sector often leads the way out—kickstarting recovery through public works projects, housing initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades. It's not just about buildings; it’s about rebuilding when it matters most.

So this Worker’s Day, we say thank you. To the real estate agents closing deals with heart. To the bricklayers building more than walls. To the project managers juggling timelines and the cleaners who keep showrooms spotless.

To every profession, seen and unseen, that helps turn empty plots into vibrant places to live, work, and dream.

you deserve it

You don’t just make the economy move—you make our lives work.

WHY PHOENIX MIGHT DURBAN’S BEST KEPT SECRET

Let’s be real—Phoenix might not top everyone’s list of dream suburbs. But what if we told you that’s exactly where its magic lies? At Ingwe Property Group, we know that finding the right home isn’t just about the postcode—it’s about potential, community, and the kind of place you can truly grow into. And Phoenix? Well, it’s got that in spades.

In a time where the property market can feel overwhelming, Phoenix offers a refreshing reality check. Homes here are significantly more affordable than in many surrounding areas—without sacrificing space or quality. That means first-time buyers, growing families, and even investors can find real value without stretching their budgets too thin. Translation? Your money goes further—and your home feels bigger.

Phoenix is conveniently located with easy access to the R102 and N2 highways, placing you just minutes away from Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Cornubia Mall, and the King Shaka International Airport. Whether you’re commuting for work or play, you’re never too far from where you need to be. Plus, public transport in Phoenix is well-established, with taxis, buses, and ride-shares always within reach.

Let’s not skirt around the truth: Phoenix has had its challenges. But this is a community rising with resilience, pride, and purpose. Local initiatives and neighbourhood watch programs are strengthening security and beautification projects are turning ordinary spaces into places of pride. At Ingwe, we believe in building better—because every community deserves to thrive. That’s why we’re proud to feature homes in Phoenix and support its local homeowners.

Buying a home is a journey—and with us, it’s one that’s seamless, supported, and surprisingly simple. At Ingwe Property Group, we pride ourselves on removing the stress and bringing the excitement back to property. We’ll help you navigate Phoenix with confidence, ensuring your experience is as bright as the possibilities the suburb holds.

So, if you’ve overlooked Phoenix before, now’s the time to take a second look. Because the best opportunities? They’re often found where others forget to look.

And trust us—Phoenix is worth the look.

— The Ingwe Property Group Family

From renter to homeowner

At Ingwe, we believe in progress with purpose. For many, the leap from renting to owning marks not just a change of address, but a powerful shift in mindset—an upgrade in lifestyle, financial positioning, and personal achievement. It’s more than just buying property—it’s investing in your future.

Whether you're a young professional building wealth, a family seeking long-term security, or an investor ready to level up, here’s your Ingwe-approved blueprint to owning your first home.

Shift Your Mindset: Rent Money Is Dead Money

Renting can feel flexible—but it’s often just short-term convenience at the cost of long-term growth. With every rental payment, you're investing in someone else's asset. Ownership flips that equation: now

your money works for you.

Ingwe Tip: Track what you’re paying monthly in rent—chances are it’s not far off from a potential bond repayment.

Credit Is Currency-Build It Wisely

Before you dream about keys in your hand, start with your credit record. A healthy credit score is the foundation of successful bond approval.

Ingwe Tip: Keep your credit utilization under 30%, settle debts on time, and avoid unnecessary credit applications in the months before applying.

Budget Like A Buyer, Not A Renter

Homeownership comes with once-off costs (like transfer fees and legal costs) and monthly commitments (like rates, levies, and maintenance).

Ingwe Tip: Start simulating ownership early—put away the difference between your rent and a potential bond

repayment. This builds your deposit and tests your readiness.

Get Pre-Approved Then Start The Hunt

A pre-approval not only strengthens your offer but gives you a realistic idea of what you can afford. It sets the tone for informed, confident decisions—something we pride ourselves on at Ingwe.

Think Long-Term: Is This A Home Or A Stepping Stone

Not all first homes are forever homes—and that’s okay. What matters is positioning yourself for growth. Whether you sell, rent out, or upgrade in the years to come, your first home should be part of a bigger wealth strategy.

Ingwe Tip: Focus on areas with steady appreciation, solid infrastructure, and growing demand.

Ingwe Tip: Work with bond originators who can shop the best deal for you across multiple banks.

Choose Your Agent Strategically

This isn’t just about location—it’s about the right guide. At Ingwe, we don’t just open doors—we empower. Our agents are market experts, negotiators, and partners in your journey.

Your Future Is Built On The Decisions You Make Today

Becoming a homeowner is a bold step—and at Ingwe, bold is what we do best. With the right strategy, support, and mindset, you can shift from tenant to titleholder, from renting space to owning power.

Ready to own your next chapter? Let’s get you there.

Ingwe Tip: Look for agents who listen more than they speak. That’s how tailored property matches are made.
