The De La Salle University Early Childhood Learning Center, Manila Main Campus was selected by TELESCOOP to be its major recipient for its 2013 Cooperative Social Responsibility (CSR) Program with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held at the Alfonso Yuchengco Building, De La Salle University in Taft Avenue, Manila. Chairperson Marcos R. De Leon and De La Salle University President and Chancellor Bro. Ricardo P. Laguda FSC signed the MOA. The tie-up shall cover a 100% subsidy for a whole year to cover PreSchooling Education Program for children at an indigent community located within the vicinity of Leveriza Street in Manila. Its primary objective is to extend and provide basic education to deserving young adolescents by sending them to school. Early Childhood Education is a term that refers to edu-

cational programs and strategies geared toward children from birth to the age of eight. This time period is widely considered as the most vulnerable and crucial stage of a person’s life. Early childhood education often focuses on guiding children to learn through play. The term often refers to preschool or infant/child care programs. TELESCOOP’s CSR is in accordance with the Republic Act No. 9520, Article 53 which states that every cooperative shall draw up regular reports of its program of activities, including those in pursuance of their socio-civic undertakings, showing their progress and achievements.

3 TELESCOOP Extends Assistance to Lourdes Handicapped Center Lourdes Handicapped Center became another recipient of the TELESCOOP’s CSR held on September 28, 2013 at Caritas Compound, 2002 Jesus Street, corner Quirino Avenue, Pandacan, Manila. TELESCOOP Officers, TELESCOOP EDCOM Officers and TELESCOOP Admin Mgr. Divine Buenvenida brought groceries, personal and health care, wheel chairs, etc.. They also shared food, fun and entertainment with the handicapped and abandoned patients of the Center. Lourdes Handicapped Center was formed on February 11, 1993, feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, with His Eminence, Cardinal Sin suggestion to Fr. Luke Moortgat, CICM, Ph.D. to have a center for the multiple handicapped persons.

The center emphasizes “Talking Only Using Caring Hands” (T.O.U.C.H.) to give love, food, medical care and accommodations to children who are multiple handicapped and abandoned. Handicapped Center Lourdes loves the various handicapped and teaches them values and skills. The children of Handicapped Center Lourdes get to experience how to live like normally-abled persons, such as going to school.

Mabuhay ang TELESCOOP!!!

What members say about TELESCOOP The following are the comments and observations of some of our members about the TELESCOOP Representative Assembly held last March 8, 2014 and on TELESCOOP’s products and services. ROBERT LAO Academician Former PLDT Executive

JOY F. TORRES Executive Secretary Cost and Valuation Sector “The proceedings in the Assembly went on smoothly and very systematic. Very pleasant atmosphere at kahit may mga issues, hindi nag-aaway away….there’s a harmonious relationship between the Officers and members…. On the services naman, sale of gadgets is very much appreciated…very affordable and low priced compared to market…..”

MARK CARBONEL Financial Analyst Asset Management Acctg It was my first time to attend the Assembly. I was so amazed to see a great number of delegates who attended the event but it was very peaceful. I can say it was well organized. The crowd is very satisfied with the food, freebies, and what more can I say, but thanks for the white envelope, hehe. Well, to the newly elected TELESCOOP Officers, congratulations and to my fellow delegates and members let’s continue to support our Coop.

After almost ten years of not attending any PLDT coops assembly, I represented the retirees/non-payroll group in the last General Assembly of TELESCOOP. It’s great to see familiar faces who are now occupying key posts in the cooperative. The coop is basically the same except for some new technology but the feeling of security with your money is there. It’s worth staying as member as the TELESCOOP helps us with our investment even if we are no longer PLDT employees. Aging retirees like me who are not keen on working still will find an exact ally in TELESCOOP since we just want a regular income in the form of interest every month. As an academician now, it is important that I have a regular source of income so I can maintain myself and that’s just what TELESCOOP do. Thanks TELESCOOP and more power BABY LYN G. VILLANUEVA MyBro Supervisor ARRM MyBro TELESCOOP helped me a lot especially when my children were still in school. It was able to give an extended financial support to provide the needs of my children and other emergency matters.

Sir Hec,

This might be a bit late but I believe that ‘Some good things really last’ 

The three slated bars – with progression colors from white, light green and green- with solid black in between the bars create a two-dimensional figure effect that resembles the retractile cord component of a telephone set, signifies flexibility. This represents the industry of the company where the employees members of the cooperative work for – PLDT. The orange circle connected to the dark green bar resembles a figure of a person – YOU as member – giving an impression of movement or moving forward. The colors, from light to darker shades or solid color, depicts steadfastness that could stand the test of time.

A few weeks ago, I submitted a form for MPL (through Sir Daboy Manzanares); And I can still recall how Ma’am Armi (Ms Armi Geneta) patiently assisted me and wellah! She managed to look for a signatory (in the person of Sir Alex Banag) My Loan was processed/released right on time as needed. BANAG

Guyz, thanks for the usual prompt accommodation and help. I never owe them a box of pizza, but I’ll be sending one for a small group lang; or Donut?Hehehe.
