to Turn an Eyesore into a
Beautiful Spot

roject Magic Spot is a community development program with the goal of converting an "eyesore" area into a magnificent spot with the partnership and cooperation of the girls within the community. This also aims to enhance the girl's individual planning skills as well as their ability to work with one another in carrying out the said project. On April 7, 2021, Cadet Troop No. 17 Everlasting has made history as the first ever troop in Iloilo Council to win the 2020 National Outstanding Magic Spot Project with Mrs. Marie Claire E. Laru-an and Mrs. Desiree Balasaa as the troop leader and co-leader respectively. This was adjudged by the National Evaluators, namely; Program Committee Chairperson Dr. Josephina M. Parentela; Program Committee Vice Chairperson Dr. Christina L. Yuson; and Program Committee Member Ms. Alice Am Pañares. The troop will receive a Plaque of Recognition and a cash prize of ₱10,00.00 which the troop can use for their necessary needs. The winning Magic Spot, also known as the Bingauan Hidden Park is located at Brgy. Bingauan, Badiangan, Iloilo which is 41 kms. away from the city. It has an area covering up to 3,500 sq. meters. The hidden park contains two bahay kubo, a comfort room and various species of ornamental plants and fruit-bearing trees to beautify the surroundings. Recyclables such as old tires and empty soft drinkbottles were also used. Being located on the hill where internet connections are very strong, it is currently used as a study area during online classes for students who do not have internet connection at home. The efforts of the 15 cadet-girls from different schools and with the help of the barangay officials, tanods and members of the 4Ps made the eyesore area, which is now known as Bingauan Hidden Park, become a huge success.
