“The single biggest way to impact an organization is to focus on leadership development. There is almost no limit to the potential of an organization that recruits good people, raises them up as leaders and continually develops them.” - John C. Maxwell

eing part of an influential organization such as the Girl Scouts of the Philippines is definitely a rich code to live by. To be part of a significant event where leaders hone their talents, showcase their skills and allow them to experience a lot is a great privilege to all the people in the organization. Amidst all the challenges we experienced, it did not stop the girl scout volunteers’ burning passion to continue the legacy of the movement especially to Iloilo Council. Every three years, the Iloilo Girl Scout Council holds a council convention and election to give honor to the people who have been a significant part of the success of IGSC and to elect a new set of leaders for the Council Board Triennium 2021-2024. Due to CoViD-19 health and travel restrictions, the event was conducted for the first time via Zoom on March 6, 2021. Adult Leaders, District Committee Chairpersons, District Commissioners, District Field Advisers from Iloilo and Guimaras Islands were in attendance and participated. The IGSC also gave awards to the districts and schools which performed excellently during the event.
“The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”
