A year has passed since the last face-to-face activity was held by the GSP Iloilo Council. But despite the pandemic’s restrictive situation, a number of Ilongga scouts who strive to make a difference in their community redefined the so-called “New Normal” and used this time to pursue their project with dedicated time and effort. Everyone’s hard work paid off as the Iloilo Girl Scout Council once again produced 36 Senior and Cadet Girls Scouts as recipients of the Chief Girl Scout Medal Award. This was learned during the announcement of the official results on April 5,2021.

The Chief Girls Scout Medal is the highest and the most prestigious award given to a girl by the Girls Scouts of the Philippines. These awardees were able to acquire this award through their commitment, leadership and sense of duty in implementing an annual community project that may be under ecology, health, livelihood and cultural heritage. The new normal added to the challenge for this year’s awardees but this did not dampen their spirits in continuing the community projects with positivity and perseverance. The burning passion of these girl scouts were encouraged by their supportive troop leaders, family and barangay leaders and folks.
