REUSING AND RECYCLING TO CREATE SCULPTURE We had to make a sculpture with recycled materials. I decided to create a
tree with birds on it. I used newspaper to make the tree, colored paper for the birds, cardboard and a toilet paper roll for the base, and glue.
The first thing I did were the birds, because I wasn't sure how I wanted to make the tree, and the birds were easy and less messy to make in class. I made them differents colors.
Then, I decided how I wanted to make the tree, I started
to twist the newspaper sheets to make coils. When I had all the coils that I needed, I glued them to a toilet paper roll because I wanted to have a more stable base. Next, I glued a cardboard base to make the sculpture even more stable and I covered it with pieces of newspaper. After that, I twisted more the paper and I gave it the form that I wanted. For this, I helped myself with the glue, so it would stay in the position better. Then I left the tree to dry during the night. Once the coils were dry the next day, I glued the birds onto the branches of the tree. And this is the final result, I like how the bright colors of the birds contrast with the grey of the newspaper.
