Time for change, spring is here. We are excited to announce that ICED* Magazine is extending its boundaries. And that we will launch ICED* Magazine Jo-burg very soon. It’s been a tough year so far with al lot of challenges; luckily none was too big to handle, thanks to the great team behind us. Without you none of this would be possible. And I know that we can expect great stuff for the future. Spring is the best time of the year, it’s the time of new growth with all its freshness. We should actually take time to learn from nature and let go of all the ugly and bad things that “winter” has to offer and let the new and fresh growth take over. When we were children, we used to think that people waited until they were 18 to drink, couples waited until they were married before they had intercourse and people didn’t do drugs. We were let to believe that you would always end up marring your soul mate and your friends are your friends and they would never leave your side.

The Rugby World Cup 2015 The Rugby World Cup is a men’s rugby union tournament contested every four years between the top international teams. The tournament was first held in 1987, when the tournament was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. The most recent tournament was held in 2011 in New Zealand, whose national team won the tournament by defeating France in the final. The winners are awarded the William Webb Ellis Cup, named after William Webb Ellis, the Rugby School pupil who — according to a popular myth — invented rugby by picking up the ball during a football game. Three teams have won the trophy twice, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa; while England have won the tournament once. The tournament is administered by World Rugby, the sport’s international governing body. Sixteen teams were invited to participate in the inaugural tournament in 1987, however since 1999 twenty teams have taken part. England will host the 2015 World Cup, while Japan will host the event in 2019.

The 2015 tournament will involve twenty nations competing over six weeks.There are two stages, a group and a knock-out. Nations are divided into four pools, A through to D, of five nations each. The teams are seeded before the start of the tournament, with the seedings taken from the World Rankings in December 2012. The four highest-ranked teams are drawn into pools A to D. The next four highest-ranked teams are then drawn into the pools at, followed by the next four. The remaining positions in each pool are filled by the qualifiers.

Nations play four pool games, playing their respective pool members once each. A bonus points system is used during pool play. If two or more teams are level on points, a system of criteria is used to determine the higher ranked; the sixth and final criterion decides the higher rank through the official World Rankings. The winner and runner-up of each pool enter the knock-out stage. The knock-out stage consists of quarter- and semi-finals, and then the final. The winner of each pool is placed against a runner-up of a different pool in a quarter-final. The winner of each quarter-final goes on to the semi-finals, and the respective winners proceed to the final. Losers of the semi-finals contest for third place, called the ‘Bronze Final’. If a match in the knock-out stages ends in a draw, the winner is determined through extra time. If that fails, the match goes into sudden death and the next team to score any points is the winner. Jorine Rich Boerseun Die twintigjarige Jorine Rich is in Mei 1995 in Pretoria gebore. Op die ouderdom van agt jaar oud, het haar gesin na Botswana verhuis. Maar, dit is eers vanaf die ouderdom van sestien wat haar sang in die rigting van ‘n loopbaan begin beweeg het toe sy by verskeie geleenthede die verhoog met groot kunstenaars soos Jakkie Louw, Mathys Roets, Gerhard Steyn, Willem Botha en vele ander bekendes begin deel het. ’n Paar jaar later kruis haar paaie met dié van Heinz Winckler en onder sy ongelooflike leiding voltooi sy gedurende 2014 haar pop rock debuut album, Boerseun, by Studio Cha in Pretoria. Boerseun is gedurende April 2015 by die Absa KKNK in Oudtshoorn bekendgestel, waartydens Jorine heelwat optredes gedoen het. Haar doelwit met die album is om in Afrikaanse pop rock the vertel wie sy is en waar sy vandaan kom. Die eerste enkelsnit vanaf die album óók getiteld Boerseun, is aan die einde van Maart 2015 aan radiostasies landswyd uitgereik en doen ongelooflik goed. Those vintage moments are times treasured. You craving your partner in every possible way, those sweet moments where you were on an intellectual high, moments where you’re silence were comfortable and peaceful, those crazy moments where they set your soul free and you dared to be everything you always wanted to be and so much more. Their presence captivates you, their essence defines you. But they’re slowly fading… You are losing yourself in a moment and you feeling azure… Here are some signs that your relationship is about to hit the blues… Awkward silence: Communication is one of the most important aspects of any relationship. If your relationship involves a lot of uncomfortable silence, the opportunity for communication has closed, making it even more difficult to express your feelings in the long run. Guidance tip – Remember to be able to communicate well, meaning that you also need to be a good listener. Listening is a skill, not a mandatory gift. Take time to understand each other again. Remember that words can sting like anything but silence breaks the heart. Me, myself and I syndrome: Your partner doesn’t take interest in you, your well-being or your dreams; it is really all about them. You are always on the defence to protect your views, your actions, and your dreams. Guidance tip – Compromising is one of the most important aspects to create a sense of balance in every relationship. Learn to create a balance between both parties so you can both grow as individuals but also as a couple. Never lose yourself or compromise yourself, compromise for the unity of a balanced relationship. Remember a part of your partner’s sense of self is defined through their feelings and the quality of their relationship. The shattered vase: Trust is an essential part of a relationship. Without trust there is not much hope for any relationship to continue, and once trust is broken it is very hard to repair like a shattered vase.

Guidance tip – Be consistent. Be honest about your feelings, but be fair in an argument. Don’t over react and choose your words wisely. Don’t bring up the past, and remember to always respect your partner in any given situation. . Remember that trust is the glue of life. It is essential for communication and the principle foundation that holds all relationships solid. Conflict: Occasional battles are an inevitable part of life. Reasonable differences in any relationship can be healthy as long as your conflict is managed in a constructive manner. Guidance tip – Remember it is your choice how you react to any situation. Do not act like a victim. Don’t be defensive and allow your partner to speak. Remember to know when to go away and when to come closer is the key to any lasting relationship. Blue in the sheets: Sex is a crucial part of every loving relationship. Sex requires art, energy, love, a deeper connection and creates a soul tie. Being chemistry created beings that is soulfully attracted to your partner, the last obstacle you want to face is a dry spell. Guidance tip – Remember that sex brings us closer together, it also releases good hormones. Springbok’s Pool B predictions: Seeing that we are almost at the start of the RWC 2015, I thought I would make my predictions and raise my opinion of how South Africa will perform in the pool stages, based on our build up towards the RWC. 19 September: SA vs. Japan With Japan kicking off our RWC campaign; it should be a great start for the Boks. We should be able to give them a hiding and that will boost our morale going into the tougher games that lie ahead. Japan is not known for their physicality, line out or scrumming powers, but we should not underestimate them. They are extremely passionate and have a never say die attitude. I predict a good running game with plenty of tries and a Boks win by twenty something points. 26 September SA vs. Samoa We all know that the Samoans are big burly and extremely physical, just ask “Liefling” after Brian Lima nailed him in the 2003 RWC. We will probably try to out muscle and dominate them up front, just to keep their backs in check. They have incredible ball skills due to the sevens a side game having such a big influence in Samoan rugby. I think we will win by 9-15 points. 3 October SA vs. Scotland Scotland will probably be our most difficult game although they are only rank 12th in the IRB rankings, one below Samoa. They will be more used to the conditions in the UK and the fact that they play more international rugby due to the 6 nation’s tournament. They are an extremely professional outfit having played their first test match in 1871 and they have had a great build up playing against Ireland, Italy and France. We should be able to win by 9-12 points. 7 October SA vs. USA The USA team is the lowest ranked team in the IRB rankings at number 16. With no disrespect to the USA, but they will find it hard to keep up with the Boks. They will play with a childlike enthusiasm. It is like being back in school and running out on the rugby field, you run out on that field feeling like a superhero and yes you want to win but it was more for the love on the game. I believe that is how the USA plays their game, but we should coast by them with around 21 points. Well, this is what my gut is telling me we will do in the pool stages. BUT seeing as nobody can predict the English weather nor Heyneke Meyer’s selections and game plan (he seems to be listening to his own voices in his head), I might just be way off in my prediction. How do you think the Boks will do in pool B?
