From Lou Antonellis Business Manager / Financial Secretary, IBEW Local 103
Brothers and Sisters,
As we move through a busy summer, it is clear that 2025 is shaping up to be one of our most impactful years yet.
Across Greater Boston, IBEW 103 members are powering some of the region’s most transformative projects, including Harvard’s new Enterprise Research Campus and the next phases of Kendall Square. They prove that the region’s most important work is built on the skill and commitment of IBEW 103.
Our political work is delivering real and tangible results. We are proud to endorse Mayor Michelle Wu for re-election. Under her leadership, Boston has seen historic investments in union jobs, workforce training, and equitable hiring. This spring, that commitment came full circle when Mayor Wu signed a landmark Project Labor Agreement with the building trades. It guarantees union labor on all major BPS capital projects and creates a direct pipeline from Madison Park to Building Pathways and registered apprenticeship programs. This is the bold leadership Boston deserves, and we are proud to stand with her.
Inside our own halls, the momentum is just as strong. Our Sports Spring Classic brought members, families, and friends together for a day of competition and family fun. We celebrated the graduation of the 78th JATC
apprentice class, welcomed a new generation of journeymen, and honored the dedication of our long-serving members at our annual Pin Night.
We are now counting down to a celebration 125 years in the making. On Saturday, September 13, we will gather at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center to honor IBEW 103’s legacy and look ahead to its future. It will be a night to remember, and I hope to see you there. Whether you are out on the jobsite, training for the next step in your career, or spending well-earned time with your family, know that your work continues to move this union and this city forward.
In Solidarity, Lou Antonellis Business Manager/Financial Secretary

125TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
We can’t wait to celebrate 125 years of IBEW 103 with you!
This milestone is all about you: the members, retirees, and families who’ve made Local 103 what it is today.
We’re planning a celebration worthy of everything Local 103 has achieved. It’ll be a night to remember, filled with pride in our past and excitement for what’s ahead. From memorable moments to familiar faces, this is our time to come together and honor the legacy we’ve created.
Let’s raise a glass to 125 years and to the future we’re building together.
125TH COFFEE TABLE BOOK
As part of our 125th anniversary celebration, we are excited to share that IBEW Local 103 will soon release a special coffee table book honoring our history and the people who built it.
This keepsake edition will showcase historic photographs, member stories, and milestone projects that have defined our union for more than a century. It is both a tribute to the generations who came before us and an inspiration for the members who will carry our work forward.
Whether you joined Local 103 decades ago or are new to the trade, you will see yourself reflected in these pages. This book is a celebration of who we are, the work we have done, and the bright future we continue to build together.
We look forward to sharing this story with you soon.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
JOB SPOTLIGHT: BUILDING THE HARVARD ENTERPRISE RESEARCH CAMPUS
IBEW Local 103 members are hard at work on one of Allston’s most exciting new projects, the Harvard Enterprise Research Campus.
This is a high-profile, 100% union-built and maintained development that will connect the community with Boston’s future.
This multi-building project has put hundreds of our members to work and will continue to create good union jobs as it moves forward. Harvard has long been a major partner to Local 103, investing in projects that strengthen our city, grow our economy, and keep our members working.
Projects like this rely on strong federal research funding. Cuts to agencies such as the NIH and NSF threaten the future of research, innovation, and the good union jobs that come with campus development.
Local 103 looks forward to continuing our partnership with Harvard and building the projects that keep our city moving forward.

JOB SPOTLIGHT: KENDALL SQUARE PROJECTS
Local 103 members are helping bring the next chapter of Kendall Square to life at 100 Binney Street and 585 Kendall Street, two major projects reshaping one of the most innovative neighborhoods in Massachusetts.
100 Binney Street is a 431,500 square foot commercial building that will house cutting-edge lab and office space in the heart of Cambridge’s life sciences district. Just down the street, 585 Kendall Street is rising as a 16story mixed-use tower with 673,000 square feet of commercial and lab space, along with a 7,500 square foot performing arts center, public gathering areas, and a 404-seat theater.
Together, these projects have created significant work opportunities for our members and will play a key role in the continued growth and success of Kendall Square.
Kendall Square’s future is bright, and Local 103 is making sure the lights stay on.

LOCAL 103 ENDORSES MAYOR WU
IBEW Local 103 is proud to endorse Boston Mayor Michelle Wu for re-election. She has proven time and again that she is a champion for working families, union careers, and the future of Boston.
Mayor Wu knows the value of skilled union labor. She has taken bold steps to protect workers’ rights, invest in future generations, and make sure Boston remains a city where working people can thrive. One of her biggest achievements was signing a historic Project Labor Agreement that ensures all major Boston Public Schools construction projects are built with union labor, while creating direct pathways into the trades for graduates of Madison Park. She has also committed to using Project Labor Agreements on large-scale, multi-phase construction projects across the
city, protecting workers’ rights and upholding Boston’s equitable hiring standards.
Local 103 stands with Mayor Wu because she stands with us.
103 SPORTS SPRING CLASSIC
Local 103’s annual Sports Spring Classic took over Warrior Ice Arena and the New Balance Courts on Sunday, April 27, for a full day of friendly competition, family fun, and union pride. Members, families, and fans packed the stands as journeymen and apprentices faced off in action-packed hockey and basketball matchups. The journeymen came out on top in hockey with a 7–5 win, while the apprentices brought the energy on the court, securing the basketball victory with a final score of 66–60. The day wrapped up with a free skate for members and their families.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it another unforgettable day for Local 103!

The graduates, now journeymen and technicians, have already been building some of Greater Boston’s biggest projects throughout their training. With their apprenticeships complete, they are ready to take the next step in their careers and continue strengthening our union and our city.

Today, thousands of families in the Navajo Nation still live without basic electrical service. Light Up Navajo aims to change that by providing power for lighting, refrigeration, heating, and more.
Volunteering their skills, time, and resources, IBEW 103 members help wire remote homes, staying true to our mission of improving lives and empowering communities everywhere.
