1.Remove Circlip retainer and keeper ring from top of head. Remove dust seal oring. Using a soft face hammer and plastic drift, push the head back into the barrel to expose the internal retaining clip. Remove clip.
2.Pull on the shaft to remove the assembly with Head and piston from barrel.



3.Remove seals from piston.
4.Apply heat to piston to break Loctiteead locker.






5.Hold shaft end to prevent it from rotating. Remove piston nut and threaded piston from shaft.



6.Remove Head from shaft. Remove and discard seals.



7.Inspect barrel and shaft for pitting and scoring. Mild scoring of barrel can be repaired with honing.



8.Fit Back up ring and O-ring to Head outer groove.


9.Fit Poly seal to Head lower inner groove Note, lip side must be facing down. Fit wiper seal to upper groove



10.Fit on shaft in order, Circlip retainer, keeper ring, Dust seal and retaining clip.

11.Apply Loctite 680 to threads. Fit piston onto threads and tighten. Fit and tighten nut, torque nut 420 Ft/lbs.
12.Fit Piston seals in order, wear ring, back up ring, Double acting seal (DAS), back up ring and remaining wear ring.
13. Apply hydraulic oil to seals, t shaft assembly into barrel with the use of a soft face hammer and plastic drift.
14.Push head into the barrel past locking groove and t retaining clip.
15.Pull on the shaft until the top of the head is eposed. Fit dust seal into groove, place keeper ring into position and secure with Clirclip.
