Bobby Kasanga founded Hackney Wick Football Club in 2015; Hackney’s first ever semiprofessional football club in nearly a century
We are not your regular football club, as our ethos is based on community engagement, uniting the local diverse groups as well as battling peer pressure and tackling gang influences.
We engage 180 youths from age 4 upwards and 70 male and female adults through our training, fitness and football matches We do this by offering educational workshops, sporting opportunities, mentoring and access to work opportunities, which actively engage with those already involved in gangs, or those on-the-brink of gang life, andMthose who might not be aware of the threats out there (as a safeguarding tool).
Hackney Wick FC are a community club whose members and players volunteer our services for free to the Hackney community Be it providing free football coaching or helping out at various events our members come along and support. We will offer training, employment and community projects which promote health and well-being alongside community safety.
Hackney was one of only a few areas without a professional or semi-professional club, so this has captured the borough’s attention, including the local businesses and media Hackney is a huge catchment area with the potential to generate thousands of fans for a borough led team
In recent years we volunteered at Abney Park for their 175-year anniversary, Run Hackney Marathon, Hackney Wicked Festival, Den City, Refugee Camps in France, Hackney Wick Women’s Institute, Fairtrade Foundation, Hackney Quest, Wick Award, Hackney Museum, homeless shelters, Scope charity and created & hosted The Hackney Cup for Health which attracts 500 people annually.
We have appeared on BT Sports, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio 5 London, London Live TV, CNN, Copa90, Click on Soccer, Football Focus Magazine, Daily Mirror, Hackney Today, Hoxton Radio, Hackney Gazette, Hackney Post, Hackney Citizens, LoveEast Magazine, The Daisy Cutter, East London Lines, Goalcom plus many more
The reason for all this publicity is the way we operate as a football club. The adult members of the club all volunteer Two hours a month to local causes and organisations which has propelled us into the heart of the Hackney Community Not only with the young but also other vulnerable groups like the elderly who we invite to matches
Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family not individuals
The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community
The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.
Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.
The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

Although it seems as though we only finished the last season a month or so ago, the boys have been putting in a good shift to get back upto speed.
It’s always tough with injuries and holidays which is why we had to schedual so many sessions and games in
We have lost some players due to different reasons away from football. We are pleased to say that Callum and Jamie also moved up the leagues as expected. We were prepared for this and approached our key targets early doors.
Many of the new faces would have been seen over pre season so it will not be much of a surprise. They have fitted in well so far and the team is now starting to gel.
Last weekend we finished our pre season campaign on a high with a strong performance and 3-1 win against last seasons champions Benfleet.
It’s vital we get off to a good start today as we are well aware of the danger Hackney Wick bring. They have had a strong pre season and like us, will be looking to improve on last season

Hutton U7 Reds (2024/25) are managed by Mario and made up of 8 players, Raife, Harrison, Reiss, Chester, Tommy, Jack, Albie and Frankie.
The boys have been developing well and played a year up last season playing in the U7 Brentwood league where they performed really well. The experience of playing up a year has been great for the boys who will now be moving in to the Echo league next season
The team have been really lucky to have 3 sponsors, which has meant that all the boys have been kitted out with new kits, tracksuits, coats and bags. So a massive thank you to LMAC Group, Blount Shutters and RGE Services
Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!
Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.
As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club
We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.
As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!
