HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932. A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players. The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community

The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.

Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve. In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.

The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025 Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

Wednesday night’s game was a classic case of digging deep and finding a way to win. Basildon gave us exactly the kind of challenge we expected, and while we know we weren’t at our best, we showed resilience and character when it mattered. The weekend break definitely showed in patches, so I’m glad we had that midweek test to shake off the cobwebs ahead of today.

Now, with just three games to go, today becomes a massive fixture. AS London are a good side and got the better of us last time out. They sit just one place above us, so there’s everything to play for.

Huge congratulations to our reserves team and management on winning the Essex Junior Cup on Wednesday night! A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for the whole club. It’s great to see a mix of experienced heads who have been with us and fresh faces coming together to bring home silverware. As a first team, we were gutted to miss it due to our own fixture, but we’re buzzing for you all!

It’s vital that everyone coming down today gets behind the lads. Wednesday’s atmosphere was a bit flat, and it definitely reflected in our performance. The boys feed off the energy from the sidelines it really does make a difference. This is the final push, and whether it’s a crowd of 40 or 150, your voices help drive the team forward. Let’s make it count today!

We’re thrilled to welcome the Hutton Youth FC U7 Yellows as mascots for today’s match!

This energetic and talented bunch only started playing together last September, under the guidance of their enthusiastic coaches Tom Lavery and Tom Stoten Since then, they’ve gone from strength to strength starting out in the U7 festivals (only losing two games before Christmas!) and already progressing through the BCFA up to the Bristol League

The Yellows have also had the amazing opportunity to play against West Ham’s academy team, thanks to the club’s partnership an unforgettable experience for these young ballers!

With flair, creativity, and a love for attacking football, this group are not just learning the game they’re loving every minute of it Keep an eye out for them across Essex this summer as they take on multiple tournaments with big smiles and big ambitions

Sunday was a historic day for Hutton FC and their girls and ladies section as the First team took on Leyton Orient in the Adobe FA Cup 3rd round qualifier for a place in the 1st Round Proper awaiting the winners.

Our Ladies First team managed by Darren Stacey and Luke Stone have had a good start to the season winning 4 of their 5 league games and beating Clapton and higher division opponents Enfield in previous Fa Cup rounds Leyton Orient came to Hannakins Farm Community Centre having recently acquired a major investment from a USA source into their womens section and boasting ex USA International striker Stephanie McCaffrey in their starting line up

With a crowd of over 150 people this contest kicked off and it was Hutton that started the more confident passing the ball around in midfield and only took 5 minutes when young right winger Holly Appleton,who only turned 18 the day before, was played through by a delightful ball by captain Abi Carke ,her speed allowing her to drive into the box and getting her shot away which was finely saved by the Orient keeper Hutton kept up the pressure and 5 minutes later opened the scoring when midfielder Millie Staceys ball clipped over the top of Orients defense saw striker Daisy Canny run on to and lob the goalkeeper from 25 yards ,1-0 Hutton

From then on it was Leyton Orient who settled the better team and although having more of the ball couldnt find a way through the hard tackling Hutton midfield or defence Orient had only two half chances the rest of the half untill the 43rd minute when a quality defence splitting pass saw McCaffrey run on into the box and just getting to the ball before the young 17 year old Hutton goalie Evie Carvell,quickly coming off her line was judged to have clipped the strikers right foot and a penalty was awarded The ex USA International calmy slotted away to make it 1-1 However almost immediately Hutton responded with the talented Lucy Critchell playing the ball out wide on the left to her sister Hayley to run on toHayley drove down the wing and cross to the ever present Canny who slotted in the far corner2-1 Hutton right on half time

The second half became a very scrappy midfield battle with either side being able to break down defencesNumerous times Orient tried to find McCaffreys skills but the combination of Kayleigh Franklin and Izzy Crichton marked her superblyAs the game went on Orient tried more ariel balls into the box yet the defence marshalled extremely well by Phoebe Keys and Molly Bowness heading presence kept Orient at bayWith 25 minutes left the management started to introduce much needed substitutes Charlotte Rutt,Isobel Boyd and Megan Gerrish to freshen up the embattled Hutton midfieldThis certainly done the trick as on the 80th minute after a brief spell of Hutton pressure a back pass from Orient allowed Canny (who used to play in Arsenal team with Ellen White) to tackle the keeper and steal the ball off her and slot into the net for her hatrick3-1 Ten minutes of constant high pressure in the Hutton box occured yet Carvell in goal and her defence stopped any clear cut chance by Orient to finally secure the historic win 3-1

Speaking after the game manager Darren Stacey said "The girls were all fantastic,we always feel like we can score,so we kept our defensive shape superbly and just battled away in midfield,taking many knocks but just kept at itHutton girls and Ladies section really has a buzz about it this seasonBehind the scenes for many years now hard work has been put in and now we finally have Flints Community Ground Open,girls teams all the way from little Wildcats to 3 ladies teamsWe had 5 teenagers on the pitch today which shows our active player pathway is working,its fantastic"

We are pleased to announce that our new ground, Flint’s Community Sports Hub was officially opened by the Mayor of Brentwood 13th July 2024 The opening event a successful youth tournament held over two days marked the occasion and we now continue to develop the site and look forward to seeing our youth teams coming together playing on this exceptional surface.
