Established in June 2020, Dunmow Town have achieved 2 promotions and 2 cup wins in such a short period of time

They were promoted to the Thurlow Nunn Division One South in 2023, and last season played their home games at Heybridge Swifts, Scraley Road ground.

This season they are playing their home games at the home of Saffron Walden Town under the management of Richard Ponsford, who was appointed at the start of the season and was formerly in charge at Ilford and prior to that at Ongar Town.

The club’s foundation is built upon community values, striving to create a club that the town of Dunmow can be truly proud of both on and off the pitch, with their ultimate aim of returning to their ancestral home.

HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community

The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.

Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.

The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

It seems to be a common start to my programme notes but..after another week off, we are looking forward to getting back on the pitch. With eight games to go, we know it’s the business end of the season and every point counts.

Last Wednesdays game against Enfield Borough, was a game of two halves. I was pleased with the half time reaction and obviously the three points but we all know there was plenty of room for improvement.

Todays opponents are one we have grown to know well as a club but not as a team, after many changes. Our away game against them brought a lot of goals and I expect the same today, after both teams recent scoring form.

A positive piece of news today is the return of Tom Stephens. After suffering from a long term injury since our promotion season, he has been waiting a long time to get his boots back on. It’s great to have him back around the club and hope with the right minutes and support, he is back for good.

THURLOW NUNN - FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

Our U11 Blues came together five years ago with six boys from the Saturday morning sessions at Shenfield School After a disrupted beginning due to COVID they enjoyed a year of 5aside before the squad grew adding three boys from another Hutton team and one newcomer. The team has really settled down since making great strides both on and off the pitch. Supported by great parents their friendships have grown and they have shared some great experiences at New Lodge, Roots Hall, Brisbane Road and Wembley.

On the pitch they are all committed to having fun and being better players. This has seen them rise steadily through their development leagues over the last few seasons.

Moving up to 9aside this season they’ve climbed a couple of divisions and are meeting the challenges they face. We’ve also welcomed two new players in Josh and Tom who have settled in amazingly.

The boys are having their first taste of competitive league matches and still have a cup competition to look forward to. Hopefully the senior Tons can provide some inspiration for them to kick on for the rest of the season.

Sunday was a historic day for Hutton FC and their girls and ladies section as the First team took on Leyton Orient in the Adobe FA Cup 3rd round qualifier for a place in the 1st Round Proper awaiting the winners

Our Ladies First team managed by Darren Stacey and Luke Stone have had a good start to the season winning 4 of their 5 league games and beating Clapton and higher division opponents Enfield in previous Fa Cup rounds Leyton Orient came to Hannakins Farm Community Centre having recently acquired a major investment from a USA source into their womens section and boasting ex USA International striker Stephanie McCaffrey in their starting line up

With a crowd of over 150 people this contest kicked off and it was Hutton that started the more confident passing the ball around in midfield and only took 5 minutes when young right winger Holly Appleton,who only turned 18 the day before, was played through by a delightful ball by captain Abi Carke ,her speed allowing her to drive into the box and getting her shot away which was finely saved by the Orient keeper Hutton kept up the pressure and 5 minutes later opened the scoring when midfielder Millie Staceys ball clipped over the top of Orients defense saw striker Daisy Canny run on to and lob the goalkeeper from 25 yards ,1-0 Hutton

From then on it was Leyton Orient who settled the better team and although having more of the ball couldnt find a way through the hard tackling Hutton midfield or defence Orient had only two half chances the rest of the half untill the 43rd minute when a quality defence splitting pass saw McCaffrey run on into the box and just getting to the ball before the young 17 year old Hutton goalie Evie Carvell,quickly coming off her line was judged to have clipped the strikers right foot and a penalty was awarded The ex USA International calmy slotted away to make it 1-1 However almost immediately Hutton responded with the talented Lucy Critchell playing the ball out wide on the left to her sister Hayley to run on toHayley drove down the wing and cross to the ever present Canny who slotted in the far corner2-1 Hutton right on half time

The second half became a very scrappy midfield battle with either side being able to break down defencesNumerous times Orient tried to find McCaffreys skills but the combination of Kayleigh Franklin and Izzy Crichton marked her superblyAs the game went on Orient tried more ariel balls into the box yet the defence marshalled extremely well by Phoebe Keys and Molly Bowness heading presence kept Orient at bayWith 25 minutes left the management started to introduce much needed substitutes Charlotte Rutt,Isobel Boyd and Megan Gerrish to freshen up the embattled Hutton midfieldThis certainly done the trick as on the 80th minute after a brief spell of Hutton pressure a back pass from Orient allowed Canny (who used to play in Arsenal team with Ellen White) to tackle the keeper and steal the ball off her and slot into the net for her hatrick3-1 Ten minutes of constant high pressure in the Hutton box occured yet Carvell in goal and her defence stopped any clear cut chance by Orient to finally secure the historic win 3-1

Speaking after the game manager Darren Stacey said "The girls were all fantastic,we always feel like we can score,so we kept our defensive shape superbly and just battled away in midfield,taking many knocks but just kept at itHutton girls and Ladies section really has a buzz about it this seasonBehind the scenes for many years now hard work has been put in and now we finally have Flints Community Ground Open,girls teams all the way from little Wildcats to 3 ladies teamsWe had 5 teenagers on the pitch today which shows our active player pathway is working,its fantastic"

We are pleased to announce that our new ground, Flint’s Community Sports Hub was officially opened by the Mayor of Brentwood 13th July 2024. The opening event a successful youth tournament held over two days marked the occasion and we now continue to develop the site and look forward to seeing our youth teams coming together playing on this exceptional surface.
