Cannons Wood FC was formed in 2019 and originated from Harlow, having initially played under the name DT FC as part of a YouTube documentary during its inception The club was then re-named after the Canons Brook estate in 2022 The club owner had ambitious plans and decided to continue growing the club and exploring the possibility of becoming a nonleague football club.
In 2020, we joined the Essex Alliance Football League, becoming a Step 7 football club In the 2020/21 season, we set out our intentions by winning our opening eight matches and scoring 47 goals. At that point, the FA stopped the league due to the Covid outbreak, and there was no football for nine months When we did return, we competed in the Essex Senior League Cup Despite playing teams two levels higher than us, we reached the Quarter Finals, losing 2-1 to eventual winners Redbridge FC In addition to this, we were also competing in the Essex Alliance League Cup, which we won at Billericay FC, beating Kit Out London 2-1
The 2021/22 season did not get off to the best of starts, with the club owner going on holiday for 14 months, leaving assistant managers Nick Jennings and Fadi Mazloum to take charge. After only six weeks of the season, though, Fadi resigned and left the club after being offered the managerial position at Stevenage FC Ladies The club then employed Billy Cove as manager, and despite many more bumps in the road, we achieved our goal and won the league, securing promotion to the Thurlow Nunn League (Step 6) The 2022/23 season brought a change of management, and we got off to the worst possible start after being sold a dream and allowing two novices to run the club into the ground with one of the worst-assembled squads in our short history After six games of the new season, the club owner returned from his holiday, immediately sacking the management team, and starting to rebuild the club to where it once was His first appointment was to bring in former player Steven Wade, and over the next few weeks, they tried to fix the mess the club was left in
The owner then employed Franco Zabotti to work with Steven to get the club back to where it belonged. We finished the season in 9th place, which was a miracle given the start we had We also lost our home ground in the middle of the season because of ongoing problems with the pitch at Harlow Town For the 2023/24 season, Franco Zabotti was now the permanent manager, recruiting Ashley King from Barkingside as his head coach and Frankie Sinclair and Ross Mernick as his assistants We started the season with three wins on the bounce, and all looked good from the outside, but internally, something felt wrong
We approached September in a good position in the league, but an awful run of only three wins in 10 games, including a toothless FA VASE exit, was enough for the club owner to sack Franco Zabotti and make the changes that were desperately needed At the turn of 2024, and with us sitting in the playoff places, we appointed Marc Benterman as our new permanent manager. Marc has vast experience at this level, managing Halstead Town and guiding them to the brink of promotion in 2016 The 2017 season saw them go on a brilliant FA Cup run, beating higher-league opposition Despite a strong end to the season, we missed out on the play off places with the last kick of the game in our final game of the season against Enfield Borough. A very tough pill to swallow, but we will be back next season.
The 2024/25 season is now upon us and with Marc Benterman moving upstairs in his new role as director of football, we have appointed Elliot Thompson as the new manager, and Lheureux Menga his assistant Elliot is a young and dynamic manager who cut his teeth at Chelmsford City and Basildon United, whilst Menga has an impressive playing CV throughout non-league We are expecting big things this season, so watch this space for updates Away from the pitch, we have a social media reach of more than 700,000 followers across five platforms, with all our home games filmed on our YouTube channel.
Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family not individuals
The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community
The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.
Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.
The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

It has been an up and down week after the poor defeat at Hoddesdon, followed by a good win at Burnham.
We only had ourselves to blame at Hoddesdon with 6/7 very good chances to score, but losing 2-0 when the opposition only had two shots!
Tuesday night required a big reaction and that’s what the lads delivered. A quick start matched with a real team spirit was too much for Burnham.
Today will be another tough game. Cannons have a new manager and they pushed Harlow close in the week.
Thanks to everyone who is over to support as always. We look forward to hearing the 12th man.

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!
Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.
As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club
We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.
As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

Hutton U11 Reds are a fantastic bunch of boys who currently play in the Echo A League Great players and also great friends, the boys always work hard at their game but more importantly, always have fun
They have improved each year, winning silverware each season too
We have a squad of 14 boys, 10 of whom have been together from the start of their Hutton journey as 7year-olds
A special mention needs to go to Ollie Allen, the boys' previous manager, who got the boys to where they are today and also his son Bertie, who was an integral part of the group The Allens relocated to Madrid in July and will be sorely missed by all the boys.
We would like to thank our sponsors Simply Fascia who generously supplied us with home and away kits and also the London Underground's Emergency Response Unit who supplied our rain jackets
Finally the boys are very excited to be mascots today and get fully behind the team.
The ‘Hutton Legend’ mascots are: Leo, Oliver, Charlie K, Freddie, Charlie T, Caius, Declan, James, William H, Oscar, Zach, Ethan, Federico, and Will M,
Team Managers, Russ and Ciaran
