Two Campbell free throws put Howe up 20-6 with 3:41 remaining before the half. Howe eventually took a 26-6 lead into the dressing room at the half. The Bulldogs continued their stymieing defense as they held Bonham to only seven points in the third period. Howe scored 16 to give them a 42-13 lead heading into the final frame. The highlight of the fourth quarter happened less than a minute left when senior Kevin Bateman entered the game and made a successful layup after a rebound and assist from Jared Brussow. The bench and the gymnasium erupted. Bonham is to be commended for their role in that moment. Howe eventually took the 50-18 win.
