Dogs playoff hopes RESERVE CHAMPION alive and well This week the UIL will announce the new district realignments across Texas for all sports. In football, with Whitewright moving down to Class 2A-1 and Howe moving down to 3A-II, it would be a pretty easy switch for Howe to take their place in District 8 which would include favorites Gunter and Bells along with Leonard, Blue Ridge, S&S, and Lone Oak. However, the UIL is so unpredictable. ***** This is the week ahead that will remind us of last year’s historic winter storm. It’ll be nice today and tomorrow but is expected to get very cold overnight Wednesday through Saturday. There’s a possible chance of show on Thursday. Take care of your faucets and your pets. ***** A judge is considering releasing expert report on Dominion voting machines in Georgia after a federal court case alleged hackers had “the capability” and “easy access” to voting machines in Georgia during the 2020 presidential election. The Howe Bulldogs last playoff appearance was on Feb. 19, 2018—the same night Howe hired Bill Jehling as their new athletic director. At the end of this week, we’ll know a lot about the future of the Howe Bulldogs as they travel to Gunter tomorrow (Tuesday) and host Blue Ridge on Friday. Previously, Howe (Continued on page 4)

John Griffin of Howe won reserve champion of the entire ORB breed at the Fort Worth Stock Show. John is the son of Kenneth and Debby Griffin of Howe. Courtesy photo. John Griffin, a senior at Howe High School, took his heifer to the Fort Worth Stock Show last week and was rewarded with all of his hard work by receiving Reserved Champion of the entire ORB breed. The heifer was born May 8 of last year and Fort Worth was her second

overall show. In Fort Worth, there were 19 other breeds in the class in which he took first place from that group. After five classes, they form a division comprised of first and second winners of each class. He ended up winning that also out of nine other competitors.

After all the divisions and all the ORB classes, he was awarded Reserved Champion. “I was shocked. I was hoping for maybe first or second in my class,” said Griffin. “I didn’t ever figure I’d get anything like that. I think the only time I’ve ever finished
