The promoters of the State Fair of Texas were voting on their favorite vendor booths on Thursday night. Don's Smokehouse of Howe was selected as the winner of the "People's Choice Award" and given a check for $500. They were also the only food winner as the rest were wineries. This is the third year in a row that Don's Smokehouse has had a presence in the GO TEXAN pavilion. "It's our biggest event of the year and it's big exposure for us," said Steve Davis, owner of Don's Smokehouse. "We get a huge push of online sales and we're still getting online orders from the previous years we've been there."
