The key play in the drive was a 4th and 1 conversion at Howe's own 49 yard line which extended the drive and eventually led to the score.

During the final live portion of the varsity scrimmage as Wolfe City drove over ten yards on consecutive plays, a pretty ugly skirmish broke out near midfield between a Wolfe City player and Howe's J.D. Thornton. The players on each side were finally separated and the officials and coaches decided to call the scrimmage at that time. Howe was seen running sprints in the end zone after the scrimmage was over. The phrase "DISCIPLINE" was attached to the back of their helmets on Saturday.
